Disappointed as a return customer. I manage an apartment complex and was walking into a funeral service in the next 30 minutes when I received a call from a tenant that their front door was locking them in and they couldn't get out. Busy Bees was my go-to, as I had used the once for personal (locked car keys in trunk) and once recently to install a Yale smart lock. Called and spoke with Cynthia (?) whom I explained I had an issue and if she could please have a tech out. I gave her my credit card # since I would be in the funeral service and gave her a $200 limit. The next day, I spoke with the tenant and come to find ut the problem had not been resolved. The tech changed the locks on the wooden entry door, but the door still stuck. The security screen door latch still did not catch, so if you leaned up against the door, you would fall out. Come to find out, the issue was not the locks, but the door that needed repair. I emailed Busy Bees and after emails and a call from them, they explained the door was warped and due to warping, the door would not close. Ok fine, then why did they change the locks if it was a warped door? They said the door needed the locks changed because as a result of the warped door, the hardware was not lining up. Ok... Even after they changed the locks/hardware, the problem still existed. They literally fixed nothing. They did, however, charge me $194.86 for locks and hardware that was not needed, because.... today I had the door repaired for an additional $200, and the problem was solved by a contractor- which should have been who fixed this in the first place. Had I been on-site, I would have had a better idea of this. My take from this: - Busy Bees should have notified us that the problem was not the lock mechanism as much as it was a warped door issue, needing another tech other than a locksmith. - Busy Bees should have charged me the $69 service fee only and walked away from the job, as their service was not needed. -Their pricing is outrageous. if nothing else. $195 to change lock/knob hardware??? - I was vulnerable and trusted a company I have done business with in the past. I also know I will not be calling them again. I already know they will come on here and try to defend their position, but bottom line is they have done nothing to make things right or try to satisfy my situation. read more

I called Busy Bee yesterday to have the "high security" cylinder lock removed from my storage unit (I never received the key, so it had to be removed) and the tech on the phone was very professional and sweet, arranging a time that was best for me to meet their locksmith at the storage place this morning. Due to a misunderstanding about that timing I arrived after David Everson had been there about thirty minutes waiting for me, but he was incredibly patient and professional as well, assuring me it was okay and that he would do his best to pick the lock (as drilling it is a big task), which I appreciated. After nearly an hour of trying diligently to pick the lock, David decided to drill it out and got it open quickly. He walked with me to the unit to ensure the mess was cleaned up and the door was able to be opened and was generally really kind and thoughtful about his work. The total cost of the service was much higher than I was originally quoted due to this lock being difficult to open, but David was forthcoming about the increase in price from the start and apologized for the misunderstanding about what kind of lock I needed to have removed. (It certainly wasn't his fault, but I appreciated that he tried to get me a lower rate with his boss.) In these days of "talking to the manager" being a complaint most of the time, I want to recognize the good work ethic, professionalism and honesty David showed today. He represented his company well and I appreciated his genuine and humble personality so much! I purchased an E mountain bike several years ago that has a locking battery that I did not receive a key for. I recently had an issue with a battery and needed to take it off of the bike. Needed the remote(s) for our Mercedes fixed. Able to help us as a walk-in but definitely recommend that you call first as they are very busy, and we just happened to be lucky that the tech was there and available. Also call to make sure that the can assist you - they also make housecalls. It is much cheaper than going to the dealership and he actually got both remotes to work. It takes time with these smart keys as there is a whole programming thing and waiting for a password to be able to start - it is not a small task. Excellent work!
