Called them to do a simple key fob replacement. I have lived in the valley my whole life and believe in supporting local businesses. The gentleman on the phone got upset and blamed me for threatening him when I mentioned that I found a better price out of town. Valley lock and safe was through my AAA, they wanted to up charge me by $200 more than the guy from out of town. The guy I went with was from the Costco parking lot, also when he heard about what happened to me he dropped his price even more. The place I went with is called "THE KEY MAN" they were over the top and quick to help. I will be reporting valley lock and safe to AAA for price gouging. I recently had an issue with the lock on my front door. They asked me to send photos and texted me in a timely way. They offered to show me how to fix the issue over the phone with no charge. However, I opted to pay the fee for them to come out to the house to fix the issue as well as have the lock re--keyed. Cristal was a true lifesaver today. Two dogs locked in a hot car (with engine running & AC on & temp constantly monitored) for the 22 min it took AAA to arrive made me realize today was the day to try to get a "spare" key fob for the car. We were quoted $185.00 for a job fixing 4 locks on our 2 doors, making ALL locks have one key. He arrived & took our key & went around & checked all the Locks & said they just need a little lubricant & they should all work on the same key. A freaky incident occurred where the primary bathroom door was locked from the inside and we didn't know how that happened! From out of town and needed to get a non standard pad lock key made. Called around on Saturday and many locksmith are mobile now and even less shops are open on Saturday. Went to the shop in cathedral city and Ken was great! Had the replacement key and machined me a new duplicate. They have mobile service as well. I had a very old HON lateral four drawer file to which I had lost the key. I called Valley Lock and Ken answered. He asked me to give him the code etched into the lock. He said they would be able to make a new key from that code. I went to the business about three hours later and started to ask for a key to be made and Ken remembered the code from our conversation. 10 minutes later and for $25 I had a new key. In looking about the Store, I got the feeling they could make a key for just about anything. Very professional, fast service. I would highly recommend. read more
