I reached out just a few days before a trip, knowing it might be a stretch timing-wise, but I wanted to see if she could accommodate a simple birthday cake. She responded within a day and was so kind and flexible. I met her at her adorable home bakery, and she was incredibly welcoming. We ordered a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry filling, and it was absolutely delicious -- not too sweet, with a light tasting buttercream that was perfect. Wow! What a sweet little place! The woman who served us was knowledgable and so friendly. She made our first experience here very pleasant. The Sweet Bliss original was HUGE and delicious. Such a cute and yummy spot to grab something sweet. The decor and vibe was really sweet and cozy, loved that they had a little frame of the business and how it got brought to life! I've been wanting to go here for years! I've read it's the best bakery in Washington. I will say their selection was pretty underwhelming. I'm guessing they focus more on cake orders than they do selling individuals in the bakery. They had 5 different cupcake (lemon, lemon blackberry, peanut butter, vanilla, chocolate). 2 cakes (vanilla and almond). The salted caramel bites and their ding dong things. That's it! Not a big selection by any means and pretty plain and simple. I think I had hyped myself up a little too much. I got the ding dong and the blackberry lemon cupcake. Writing this long overdue review!! I was referred to Methia by my best friend because I was looking for someone that can make my daughter a unicorn cake for her 8th birthday. Before putting in an order we came to the shop for the mother daughter tea just to try the goodies. Everything we had were sooooo delicious!! I was definitely SOLD. Even though Methia said she's never done a unicorn cake before she was more then willing to make one for me. The day of my daughter's party my Husband went to pick up the cake with no problem. The cake was so beautiful that my daughter refused to let anyone touch it. We didn't get a taste of the cake until later on that night and to my surprise, it was sooooooooo Effing* good. It was shocking to me because with any cake, you either get a pretty cake that doesn't taste very good or a delicious cake that doesn't look very great. My daughter's cake was beautiful and delicious. It was so moist and airy. It didn't taste like we eating 10pounds of sugar. Oh man, did we love our wedding cakes! We learned of Sweet Life through our caterer who suggested that we call ASAP because it books fast! After some exchange about our vision, we had a fantastic tasting (we were delighted and stuffed when we left) and were sold! Methia put together a beautiful spread. This little place is in Kingston, and very easy to get to, right by the Edmonds/Kingston ferry. It is run by an absolute rock star. Methias cakes & cupcakes are phenomenally beautiful. They are airy, tender & sweet without being crumbly, and still moist even after a couple of days, but their true magic is in her perfectly textured & deliciously light frostings. I ordered a pink and purple cake for my daughter's birthday. We received the most boring pink cake with her name written in purple. The response I got was... "technically it IS pink and purple. " ok... cake is boring, she DID offer a refund if I returned the cake... I had no other cake option for my daughter. Thinking it had to AT LEAST taste good... it didn't. The Apple spice cake was over cooked on the outside and raw on the inside with no flavor. The cream cheese filling was delish... but not the outside. I absolutely would NOT recommend this place. She never offered to fix our cake, I think she was upset I didn't pay her $ 10 extra to have her add a star and moon. The cake was boring and ugly... it would have been ok... had it not tasted gross. We won't be getting a refund... with these cakes... she needs the money more than us. read more

Cute little shop. Not a lot of selection when I arrived, but what they had in the case looked good. The caramel high hat cupcake I purchased was not what I expected (high hats typically have marshmallow, but this had buttercream underneath the chocolate shell) but pretty good. The chocolate cake was moist, and I liked that there was a little glob of chewy caramel hidden beneath the mound of buttercream. The buttercream wasn't good because the cupcakes were chilled within the display case. And I just can't imagine going there and ordering a cupcake and then waiting an hour or two for it to get to room temp (ideal serving temp for buttercream). read more

My friend & I popped into this cute Mirracole Morsels / Granola Factory / Sweet Life Cakery Bakery co-op in Kingston in the Old Kingston Hotel property (according to another website) It looked cute & we wanted to check it out when we drove off the ferry to Kingston. We were so glad we stopped by & were able to walk out with some lovely chocolate chip peanut butter cookies & a DIVINE passion fruit buttercream iced mini cupcakes... (but then I am partial to most desserts featuring passion fruit:) None of these items are on a low fat list... but HIGHLY recommended when you decide on a sweet indulgence. Hopefully you have the willpower for moderation. I only get to the Seattle area once a year, so I think I am safe. read more

We were in Port Orchard. For some it was a Ferry Ride (inside.) We attended a beautiful commitment ceremony and there were an array of these beautiful bite sized cupcakes. So, I may have eaten 10, but I'm sure they would equal to one full size cupcake. These CC's were the BEST! So, on the other side of the pond we have Trophy, Champion and your mama's cupcakes, but over there, they have Sweet Life Cakery. So lucky! I had Sweet Life cake as my wedding cake. My cake was soooo good! At times Methia seems a little unorganized during the process. But her cake flavors really made up for that. I will say my cake was lovely, and while it wasn't 100% what I explained I wanted in the tasting and via photos. I still would recommend this bakery for anyone getting married on the island. Their ding dong things are really delicious. The lemonade was perfection. The store was adorable and inviting and the staff was very friendly. Methia was wonderful to work with for our wedding and groom's cakes! We went into our tasting with an idea of what we wanted but were completely swayed by the delicious lemon and carrot cakes. She created an absolutely stunning three-tier cake for our wedding that was greatly received by all our friends and family. I changed my mind practically last-minute about wanting a groom's cake and Methia was able to accommodate. She masterfully created a sculpted vanilla cake in the shape of a DSLR camera that fooled several people into thinking was real. We could not be more delighted with Methia's professionalism, and artful creations for our wedding. We chose a very specific dusty blue color and she created a fondant that was spot on! We gave her pictures for ideas and she gave us the exact cake we imagined and then some! If only you could see the 1in by 1in ballpoint drawing on graph paper we provided to Methia and then the gorgeous cake she created... Methia was amazing to work with from start to finish. We met with Methia, gave her a handful of disjointed ideas, and then a few days later she sent us three gorgeous drawings to choose from. Eight months later, the cake she delivered looked exactly like what we'd envisioned and it was DE-licious! Just had the Sweet Bliss mini cake. OH MY GOD. I planned to make my tea and have a seat and blow my diet elegantly but i took a taste and just about fell over. Methia is a professional who knows her kitchen. She also treats her customer right. Every fall around November I go in and special order a dozen mincemeat tarts which is not on the menu. I get a call when they are ready to be picked up. And they are always perfect. Her scones are always 10 times lighter than I can make them, even the gluten free. I pick up quiches for Sunday brunch and they are wonderful. I highly recommend the Sweet Life. read more
