Cute little beachside spot connected to the general store with both indoor and outdoor seating that makes for such a fun casual stop after a day by the water. I've eaten here twice now and overall the food has been really good both times. One thing that was definitely disappointing -- no french fries. Instead, burgers come with a bag of chips, which feels like a missed opportunity for a beach burger spot. The burger itself was decent, though the patty could've been better. What really saved the western burger was all the toppings and flavors that came with it. The standout for me though was the fish tacos special I had on a previous visit. Absolutely delicious and honestly one of those dishes you keep thinking about afterward. That special needs to come back permanently. Overall, definitely worth stopping in if you're near the beach and looking for a laid-back bite with a great atmosphere.

I ordered their meatloaf special a couple of weeks ago. 3 ' slice meatloaf', lot of mashed potatoes with brown gravy over them. Mix carrots and sugar peas ( both were crunchy) and a roll already buttered. I ate off it for 3 days. It was a to go order so enjoyed it at home. I did take a picture but deleted it trying to clean up my phone. They have steak night special you have to go on their site to see when. They had steak night last week but I was out of town. I have had the prime rib steak night and it melted in my mouth.

Small breakfast plate. Perfect for the small eater.

Great local place for breakfast! They have all the greats. I really love their garden omelette with Swiss cheese. The perfect amount of spinach and mushroom enveloped with three eggs. I just added hot sauce and it was the perfect breakfast. It also came with a slice of watermelon and toast. My mom got the small breakfast and it was the perfect size for a light eater. The service was excellent as there were only three other patrons in the restaurant.

    The Philly

Clam chowder was excellent. I had the King sandwich. It was average. It did have a lot of roast beef. The Cascade sandwich was rated excellent. The Philly was also rated very good. The service was excellent. It was a cute little local spot.

Came here for breakfast because we were craving breakfast burritos with a great ocean view. First time customers and we weren't disappointed. The burritos were stuffed with breakfast goodness and the salsa was pretty good. Had a few mimosas too (splendid!). Service was decent, only one other table besides us. Not slow, not fast, just right. Waitress was friendly enough but didn't bring me the water I asked for or the second mimosa for table until we asked again. Not bad, just weird since it was so slow. Anyway, we'll be back!

A beautiful sunset at the beach in front of the Hansville grill and store.

But actually..., the coffee is pretty lame and tasteless, the baked goods are super greasy, everything that we have tried is just dripping, and then, on top of all that, the staff are pretty rude and unfriendly. Every time we went there we were confronted with an attitude... so I don't know what's up with them, my wife and I are pretty friendly social folk, our dogs are adorable (although we keep them outside when we visit this place). Anyway, today was the last straw, I walked out after waiting in line, and after I watched the server be really rude and demeaning to someone else in front of me. I am a cowardly conflict-avoider so just walked out, but I am moved to leave this review. It's a real shame because they single-handedly lower the tone of the entire area, and Hansville beach is undoubtedly such a beautiful spot. We just will not go there anymore, besides there is another spot to get snacks and coffee, right across the street, and at least they are friendly there.

The pulled pork breakfast burrito is amazing--definitely one of the standouts and something we'd order again. I was a little hesitant to try the Boat Yard Hash again because I'd ordered it a few years ago and found it very underwhelming--mostly potatoes and not much flavor. I'm so glad I gave it another shot! This time it was completely different and absolutely delicious. It had tons of flavor and was a huge improvement from what I remembered. The biscuits and gravy were another winner. The gravy was packed with flavor and made the dish much more interesting than the bland, flour-and-milk style gravy you sometimes get. Three dishes, three hits. This visit was an easy 5 stars for us.

They were busy on a Saturday morning, with a consistent wait of 2-4 tables (20 min or so). I think there were three servers covering the restaurant, each with probably about 6 tables. Our server was incredibly friendly but not that efficient. She'd grab one thing, drop it off, then go grab another and do it again instead of holding something in each hand, for example. If you're in a hurry, this may not be the best place but it's decent if you have a couple hours for a meal. The place has a down to earth, kitschy feel. I'd avoid the booths though - at least mine was free standing and connected to the person behind me. Every time they stretched or moved backwards, they'd push me into the table. I started with orange juice. It was fine, like Tropicana with lots of pulp. I ordered a breakfast burrito with smoked brisket, pepper jack, and caramelized onions. I have no idea how, but it was kind of bland. The meat was tender but didn't really taste like anything (needed more salt?) and I thought they'd forgot the onions until I found one inside. If I'd been blindfolded and you told me it was a cheese burrito with shredded pork, I probably would have believed you. It wasn't bad but it was so forgettable it's hard for me to even describe. If you're at the marina and you're not in a hurry, this may be worth a shot. Unless I'm with that friend who loves it, I'll probably try something else next time I'm in the area though.

A/C was running high as it was a super humid and hot Saturday. The restaurant is one big open space with large, comfortable booths lining the walls and a selection of tables in the center. This would suit large groups, too. There's a small outdoor patio area with umbrella covered seating. They had World Cup games on and decor to match. THE FOOD: We immediately had warm, thick tortilla chips and house made red salsa on the table. Salsa is on the spicier side, but was absolutely delicious. We had the Cadillac margarita (moderately strong and well mixed), tacos dorado with steak (fried and seasoned perfectly), and corn tacos with birria (melt-in-your-mouth and perfect temp). The bar is its own little mixology section and is very well stocked. SIDE NOTES: We were way too full for dessert, but there were several nice options that all looked and smelled amazing as they passed us. Can't wait to go back when we have emptier stomachs to try more!
