I love good tasting quality clean food, which they serve. I do, though, need more budget friendly meals. When the price of a salad, there costs as much as me, feeding a family of three, i have to pause and prioritize. That said, though they have the best chef. I don't eat baked goods, but those who do love their baked goods as well. So definitely patronize them. I'll be back a few times a year, when they rotate their menu and there's something I really want. I just can't eat there once or twice a month like I used to. And it's really the the fact that they price themselves out of my range.

I am a cowardly conflict-avoider so just walked out, but I am moved to leave this review. It's a real shame because they single-handedly lower the tone of the entire area, and Hansville beach is undoubtedly such a beautiful spot. We just will not go there anymore, besides there is another spot to get snacks and coffee, right across the street, and at least they are friendly there.

Tried them several times. The chili is out of a can, the burgers are frozen there is no pride in the place. It is part of a store without any stock on the shelves. The outside is falling apart and dirty. It may be a bit cozy but the owner really doesn't care and has a bad attitude. What a great place it could be. He should sell and let someone else do the job better....and that wouldn't take too much effort. read more

The Grub Hut is very, very popular or at least it was when we were there and there was a small line to place our order, very little room to sit and the wait time to get our food was about 25 minutes. We didn't think that was too bad and we thought it was "johnny on the spot" timing at work to tell us that at the time that the order was placed. And I suppose they have it down to an art and need to give out times like this as this restaurant is right by the ferry terminal and Kingston so I imagine a lot of people who are using the ferry need that kind of information to plan accordingly with their meals and arrival/departure times with the ferry.
