I ordered half of a cow through Mulberry Orchard, and Butcher Block processed the cow. The prices were fair, the communications and keeping me up to date on my cow was great as well. Staff were also friendly in helping me fill out my form and explaining the various cuts of meat to me. When the day came to pick up my cow, the staff were super friendly and patient with me, as it was my first time getting a massive order of meat via a butcher. I didn't realize I needed to bring a box, but they grabbed some spare boxes for me to use to get my meat to their house. I'll be giving the Butcher Block my business again for sure! Great butcher shop in Taylorsville. It's a little bit of a drive but well worth it. If you're looking for specialty cuts they have it. If they don't, order it. They will have it in a couple of days. Had a large beef processed there1500#s on the rail 797#. When I picked it up they shorted me 10+ lbs of filets and a 15-17lbs of NY strips. I've had over 15 beefs processed for the year so I know what to expect. Stealing is stealing!! They threw their hands up. Finally after 3-4 layers of employees the owners boy very rudely offered some packs of cuts from the cooler. Refused to cut it. I took it as better than nothing. Zero accountability! Ever question the products they sell, go around back and look at the animals they are processing. They need to be out of business!! read more

Just picked up 2 deer. They now offer vacuum sealing, which is great!! I have used them for a few years. They are a quality butcher and do a great job at deer processing. They had great difficulty this time "finding" me or the deer. Happened big time when I called them to direct how to process the deer. Some more shenanigans when I picked it up. Took off a star for that. The actual end product itself was 5 star. read more

This place is NASTY!!! As we walked through the door we were hit with the stench of rotting blood and cat pee. The meat in there looked very dark and old, there is a table behind the counter where children were playing with toys, there is a windowed room (processing room)(windows were filthy) where two people were standing (both were wearing (dirty) old tee shirts and looked like they had been working in the garden no gloves or hairnets, one walked out to greet me reeking of cigarette smoke. I would NEVER eat ANYTHING that has been in that business, unfortunately one star is the lowest rating I can give. read more

Today was our first time visiting Taylorsville Butcher Block we seen them on Facebook and had planned on going for a while they had a great deal going on on a sale on ground chuck and ground lean pork so we decided to take the 1 hour drive we were not disappointed they had an excellent selection have all kinds of meat and Seafood very reasonably priced freshly vacuum sealed we bought over 25 lb of meat and only spent sixty bucks the custom ground sausage taste excellent they had very friendly customer service and good weekly and daily deals I would highly recommend them to anyone to stock up on local fresh high quality beef pork or chicken! read more

This is my favorite place to buy meats now. I tried it out once this summer and my family loved the meats and I loved the prices! I've gone back a few times now and have gotten everything from strip steak to bacon. My daughter doesn't like going into the store, so I can't tell her where I bought her breakfast sausage from, but she likes it more than any "store bought" kind I've gotten in the past. My son and I were there, and the younger woman with ink and what was wearing non sanctioned uniform yoga britches combo was working the counter. I quickly concluded my business and left. I had to explain to my 6 year old that sometimes big girls wear inappropriate clothing and we shouldn't stare at their yoga britches. read more

Run by a thief they will steal your meat and place it on there meat counter for sale and tell you thats all your beef or pork made this has happened with 2 hogs and a beef me and a buddy had processed at this place. Thay also do usda stamps with out a inspector on site. Hopefully we can get this place shut down permanently real soon read more

We are new to the area and decided to try this place. We had trouble getting through to this place to order and called several times. We didn't get through to someone until after a full day of calling . Arrived to pick up meat after calling in our order and was a little scared of what we got. During this time of covid, there were no masks or gloves worn in the meat room. It was very unorganized in the freezer case and a lot of freezerburnt meat. We ended up throwing out the meat as we had concern of eating it. I could go on but we think there is room for improvement at their business. read more

This is a great place to purchase meats that are fresh and local. We try to make it to Butcher Block about every 3-4 weeks and stock up. Their whole roaster pigs are great also. Prepped and ready for your next pig roast! Their sausage is about the best I've had and their steaks are very good. Great selection and price.
