We went to Butera's on a Friday night. My husband and I took my daughter for a bite. They start you off with garlic knots and bread which is awesome, but this is served with hummus? Kind of weird lol. We ordered the fried mozzarella which had a great cheese pull (which we love lol) and a margarita pie. The pie was eh. For our meal we wanted to share the baked gnocchi dish and eggplant rollatoni. Unfortunately, we had to send the eggplant back as it was "mushy" and hard on the bottom. Similar taste to me as a frozen eggplant :( I was sooo disappointed in this. They were very nice and took it off the bill, and comped our desert which I appreciated. Overall, I do not think I will return though I feel like it's possible they could redeem themselves with some other entree options. read more

We were four for dinner and very much enjoyed our food and the service. I took photos of only two of the dinners because one was completely covered in mozzarella cheese and the other was just the same broiled salmon my wife usually orders everywhere. Nothing against her salmon, which she said was excellent, or my buddy's Chicken Eggplant Sorrentino, but the two with the photos below were exceptional. I particularly appreciated that when I asked my waiter about substituting one or two mushrooms for the mozzarella cheese I didn't want included with my Grilled Chicken, Spinach, Broccoli, Red Peppers and Roasted Potatoes, he brought out my dish making mushrooms an integral ingredient. I also appreciated my waiter's cooperation, understanding that we hadn't seen our friends for a long time, and wouldn't be ordering food right away ... also, we got there 6:30 and didn't leave until 9:00, but were never rushed. This restaurant is absolutely delicious. I'm not from this area, we were just stopping into this area and found this phenomenal gem. The food was INSANE!!! Upon arrival we were greeted by some friendly workers and we were seated immediately. We were given these delicious garlic knots for the table which were delicious. The fried calamari appetizer was beyond my expectations! So crunchy and flavorful. The chicken vodka sauce Parmesan was out of this world! Their vodka sauce was fantastic. I have been eating in restaurants for 50 years. The new ownership at this place are pretty dumb. Last 6 weeks the A/C has not worked. They either are too cheap to provide a proper comfortable temp on the thermostat, or simply won't fix a badly operating system. Today was 100 degrees and the air was not working in the establishment. They obviously could care less about their customers. Nobody is going to order hot coffee or desserts if it's hot as hell in the room, duh. We just wanted to get the hell out after our meal. I feel bad for the cooks and wait staff who have to put up with constant nonsensical changes and lack of efficiency in running a restaurant. They now have added a 3% credit card fee, after removing all the other prior discounts. Most importantly, they think we are all stupid, they raised all their prices and now have made their portions considerably smaller. Additionally, they install a new computer system for the first time operating tonight, train nobody, while expecting staff to figure out how to operate the new process. The other Butera locations should be very concerned if they are still owned by the original family. This location is trashing whatever goodwill is left with the Butera name. read more

I went with a group of friends and we each had something different. I had to low carb special with the salmon. I thought it was delicious. One friend had eggplant, Parmesan, and another head Nonna's lasagna. We all raved about the food and we each took home enough for another meal. The servings were very large. The problem was the service. We ate it one of the outside tables around the corner and we sat there for probably 15 minutes before we asked someone to send a server. Food came out promptly no problem. But it was probably another 40 minutes before we saw server again and could get our check. I'm on the fence. I was out visiting people near Woodbury, and was really in the mood for Italian food. We decided to stop in at. Buteta's and were pleasantly surprised. the service, and the food were very good. Each dish was delicious and full of flavor. Came here with 4 other people on a Saturday at 6pm. If you do, definitely call and reserve a table. We were seated promptly as we decided to sit at the bar. Thr bar was a bit small but luckily, only 1 other patron. The ambiance was intimate, cozy with dim yellow lighting, soft music, and the football game on at the bar. It was initially busy but quieted down by 7:30 pm. The restaurant is situated inside a big parking area with lots of shops but plenty of parking. Let's get to the food! My aunt recommended this place and advised me to get the chicken meatballs. Sauce was plentiful, fresh stewed tomatoes with parmesan and burrata cheese. It was flavorful, basilly, and perfect to dip with a nice crust bread, which it came with. Oh, and when you sit down, they provide a mixture of warm breads, butter, and hummus (which was odd for an Italian spot but still good). We also had the seafood pasta in tomato sauce (good and fresh but nothing spectacular), grilled shrimp salad (fresh, citrusy and tangy), fettuccine with lump crab and scallop in Rosa sauce (I preferred this over the tomato sauce) and balsamic glazed salmon with lentils (didn't get to try). All in all, it's a great date night spot but may not be ideal for families with young children. Our server/bartender was very hospitable even though he was making drinks for everyone, regularly checked on us, refilled our drinks without being asked and was just a delight (even tried to change the channel for my 6 yo but I told him it was ok since other patrons probably wanted to watch the game. read more

The manager and the owner were so accommodating and friendly in taking care of us (even though we didn't have a reservation on a Friday night) and the food was fantastic! 10/10 we will be back! read more

The calamari was good but there was a piece of a steel wool scrubber in the appetizer. We told the waiter and was told by the man by the front that it would be taken off the bill. Last Tuesday we decided to dine with a group of friends in. While the restaurant did have a few tables outside under an awning. Regrettably, there was no protection against the elements and there were no heaters. It was a chilly and rainy evening, so we opted to move indoors. The tables did not have shields nor did the booths. Fortunately our table was in an out of the way place. We arrived at the eatery without reservations at 6:00pm and after a brief wait were seated. The waitress arrived within minutes with the menus and a wine list. We did not order wine but did have the waitress bring a few bottles of Italian mineral water. The waitress was forgiving of our delay with ordering appetizers. However, we reciprocated by ordering our meal at the same time as the appetizers. For the table we ordered baked clams, fried calamari and bruschetta. Regrettably the dishes did not taste as appetizing as they looked. The baked clam I ate was oily and gritty. The fried calamari were a bit overdone. For an entree, I ordered the veal parmigiana with angel hair in place of the spaghetti. Just an aside, there were a few substitutions from the group and not once did the waitress balk. The entree arrived shortly after our orders were placed. Either an extremely fast kitchen or many prepared plates. I believe it was the later. As for the veal parmigiana entree: the mozzarella was excessive and so was the marinara on the pasta. I removed a good portion of the excess cheese only to discover slivers of garlic. The pasta was too overdone to be enjoyable. This entree was rapidly becoming a culinary nightmare. Hesitatingly, I tasted the veal and, to my surprise, it was delicious! It was tender and very flavorful. The staff was friendly and very quick. It's located in a Woodbury plaza with other stores and restaurants, so plenty of parking and the restaurant itself is spacious. Had a great meal at Butera's! The bread basket was delicious (especially the garlic knots) I ordered the Penne Burrata which had marinara pesto and burrata. It was well balanced and had a slight sweetness to it. Food was served at a good temperature. My wife had the rigatoni with broccoli rabe and chicken meatballs. It was another solid dish (I had it for leftovers today) my daughter had penne ala vodka and they made it without pancetta (which was upon request). My little guy had the kids chicken fingers with fries. All portions were big and we all had leftovers. The server was attentive and our food came out quickly. All dishes were the correct temperature. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe. It is clean and updated and it was not too noisy despite being full. The owner was there and stopped by our table to chat which was great.
