It's very frustrating, especially when you're trying to stay on schedule with your child's healthcare. I understand that unexpected things happen, but repeatedly rescheduling patients without providing reliable appointment times shows a lack of respect for their time. Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed, and I can't recommend this office based on the scheduling alone.

The staff was friendly and this is a place definitely set up for kids to feel comfortable. The waiting area has a TV playing a kid friendly movie complete with a plethora of plushies and two little chairs made for toddlers to feel special and sit and wait calmly. We were escorted in, my son was x-rayed and we consulted with a dentist who suggested filling the THREE cavities that were delving. We talked about options for numbing agents and made a follow up appointment. Inside each room there is a TV mounted on the ceiling so little ones can focus on a movie and not on someone rutting around in their mouths. The filling procedure was a success and my son, who was not liking the numbness he was feeling and semi-freaking out because of it, got a really cool balloon animal and a friendly staff that made the situation as easy as possible. I highly recommend them to anyone with a kid - especially an active one - who needs dental care.

So doing so now, they have an arcade in the waiting area which is so cool, and plenty of seating for everyone. The parking is a bit small and it looks like a house from the front on Brea Blvd. its such a cute dentist office. They have tvs on the ceilings with movies playing they had red panda which is one of our favorites. They did xrays and cleaning and no cavities for baby girl again yay. She loves coming here, I enjoy bringing her, Dr. Martinez usually comes in at the end after they do the cleaning and xrays. Thank you always for your friendliness and making our kids feel at ease and comfortable. Been coming here for a while now, will continue to bring baby girl here for as long as we can. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Lee was caring and compassionate. He communicated every step clearly and made sure our daughter felt comfortable throughout -- from the numbing gel and injection to the drilling, extraction, and filing. The office has movies playing, stuffed animals to hold, and attentive staff who genuinely made the experience less intimidating for a young child. In my experience with older kids, many dentists prefer to limit continuous dental work to 20-30 minutes depending on the child's tolerance. Thanks to our daughter's patience and Dr. Lee's efficiency, we were able to complete two significant procedures -- one on each side -- in just 45 minutes. The billing process was equally impressive. The staff clearly explained our insurance benefits and any potential remaining balance upfront. Of course, final costs can vary based on what X-rays and the physical exam reveal, but there were no surprises. Dr. Lee also walked me through multiple treatment options before and during the procedure, which I really appreciated. Fortunately, the least invasive option ended up being sufficient. We look forward to continuing care with Dr. Lee for our children.

On the first visit, he was scheduled for treatment, but when we arrived, the treatment was not provided. Later that day, I received a call apologizing and was told he needed an exam before treatment. While inconvenient, I understood and agreed to come back the next day. During the second visit, the doctor then stated he may need to see a specialist and did not want to work on the tooth until we saw one. We followed that recommendation and saw the specialist, who was confused about why he was referred and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the tooth. Lollipop Doctor advised she would make a small retainer to replace the missing/chipped tooth so my son wouldn't have a visible gap. We were then sent upstairs for a 3D X-ray, but instead of my son receiving treatment, I was pulled aside and given a consultation about braces -- which we were never there for. I requested to speak with an office manager on March 24th and, to this date, I have never received a call back. However, the office continues to call me and text me about starting braces, which is extremely frustrating considering my concerns were never addressed. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and more focused on selling orthodontic treatment than addressing my child's actual dental issue. Due to this experience, I will not be bringing any of my children back to this office.

She evaluated me, explained exactly what can be done and an hour later, I had a beautiful new tooth. It is some type of a filling that she molded and ground to form a perfect tooth for me. Though please note that there was a change in ownership and some of the reviews actually belong to the service and care of a Dr. Nelson - who retired. I also waited till I had a second visit before sitting down and writing my experience. The first time I had a good hygienist who was friendly and thorough. The second time I had an asian woman who stood the entire scaling time. That was a first for me and I'm one who goes every 6 months. I have been looking for a new practice since my previous beloved one no longer was in network for us. The two exams I had with Dr. Lee with were very brief. She wasn't particularly personable but coupled with the fact that she didn't give me the time to fully examine my toothache complaint was the biggest issue I had. She had basically advised me to come back for a more thorough exam because she didn't see anything on the x-ray and visible decay from the biting surface. Fast forward less than 6 mo later, I found out I had decay underneath my sealant that was causing my sensitive. I came from an excellent practice that was extremely proactive and on top of patient education for both hygiene and gum care. I was always given good information and options as well as a thorough explanation when I showed an interest or had additional questions. That was very much not the case here. Perhaps to someone who only needs a cleaning and is comfortable with that level of practice, this could work for them but I was truly disappointed with the level of service and care and am seeking care with another provider.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

Just had a horrible experience. Had my 2.5 year old and 19 month old get a check up. The assistant and Dr. Butler were fine. The office staff is horrible!!!!!!! As we left they gave only my 2.5 year old a baggy. When we got to the car the 19th month old was crying because he didn't get a black and red toothbrush like his brother. Looked like a zebra or animal. Thank god my mom was with me. I went back and asked the front staff if I could get one for my other child. ( I know they give a baggy to all patients regarding age because my oldest had been there twice before as an infant and 18 months.) The front office assistant went over to the bags and I followed her. She said they didn't have a red and black brush. I said it kind of looked like an animal and I pointed to one. She said no you cant touch anything. Geesh really.... ok. She was too lazy to look and said we don't have any. I said can I talk to the staff member that gave the baggy to my son? Maybe she remembers it. She said she's busy, you will have to wait. I said ok I will wait. She said oh shes going to be about an hour. You will have to wait one hour in the lobby for her. THEN I GOT PISSED. I said "This is ridiculous. WHY are you guys making it soo complicated? I'm never coming back here again." Another nurse came out and I asked what the issue was and I said we are looking for a red and black brush. She grabbed it and said here you go. JESUS!!!! Come on! No flexibility, no sympathy for a crying toddler. THEY ARE BULLSHIT. Not a caring place for kids with that kind of Stupid staff. And another thing. My mom came with me to help. They didn't let her in because of covid. Not even in the waiting area. I had to fill out all this paper work and I just couldn't with both toddlers. My older stubbed his finger and was crying. I had to call my mom to come back so she can wait with them in the courtyard so I could fill out paper work. Fine ok I get it covid precautions but geesh make an exception and let her wait in the lobby. No one was there! There's so many other DR offices that allow another parent. They are taking to far and need to be more flexible with parents of multiple children. Also didn't get the certificate for "first check up" for my second like my first son did. Hi I'm Lauren, my kiddos were once patients here at this miracle of an office and unfortunately Covid hit us hard just like many other families, we had to take a break from many outings as my daughter became ill she's got a long history of diagnosis and quite recently I had taken just my son in to get his routine check up before going back to school an of course the office didn't skip a beat just like before the pandemic hit. I share my experience here with many of my mommy friends because I mean ALOT of the times it is not a pleasant experience. My kids were those kids.... Kicking and screaming! Scared to death but fast downward like I said to miracle office. They are so patient, so loving, so caring! Everyone of our family, friends, neighbors, ministry groups etc has absolutely loved their experience and it's so pleasant when we get to go the dentist now and see how truly blessed we are to have a wonderful pediatric office as a whole care about your kids even when they are kicking and screaming ... maybe even biting. :// I reached out to Susan to understand where she might be coming from because I as well forgot my mask for my appointment . I don't think many people love this mandate but I also don't think people understand that it's not the business implementing it because they want to aggravate people think of all the kids coming in and out of the office, some may be ill or some more prone to sickness just like my little girl who isn't able to come see Dr. Butlers office. I was never rude to Susan and nor would I say anything hurtful to her as I am sad her daughter didn't get to experience the love of this office because mom got carried away with emotions. I have been searching for a pediatric dentist since I moved back to CA from TX. Our pediatric dentist in TX was THE BEST, so I was sad when we moved. It's been SO difficult finding a SUPERB pediatric dentist, but then I came across Butler Pediatric Dentistry through a google search. Let me just say, as a mother, my prayers have been answered! The front office staff was VERY accomadting to my busy work schedule and were able to get me in pretty quickly. My mother took my THREE kids (yes, they were able to schedule all three!) to their appointment since I had to work, and my mother even was pleasantly surprised by their office. I was able to get there as my last child was being seen and I spoke to Dr. Butler directly in detail about each of their visits. My children have always loved going to the dentist because of the wonderful dentist we had in TX (they were seen since my oldest was 3 and now she's 11) so finding a new dentist they were comfortable with was VERY important to me along with finding a dentist who was knowledgable and great at speaking with adults but with the children as well. I can't say enough of the positive experience I've had but just that I'm going to refer all my friends over to Dr. Butler! My kids loved all the neat prizes they got and were excited to get home to floss and brush. They loved the huge fish tank and the electronics they had in the waiting lobby. Dr. Butler is simply amazing. I have two teenagers who see Dr. Butler and just adore her. The office is beautiful, the staff is friendly and from the moment you walk in the door, you just feel comfortable. She takes her time to explain oral hygiene and talks to my kids as well as me; which makes them feel important. I feel that her approach with my 15 year old has made him feel like he is in charge of his own oral care. After his first visit with Dr. Butler, he began taking the initiative to brush and floss without me having to remind him. My daughter had several baby teeth that needed to be extracted and severe overcrowding. She was very anxious and actually crying when she sat in the chair. Dr. Butler's sensitive nature and fantastic approach put my daughter at ease. She actually left the chair laughing and remarked that she had no idea why she was so frightened. Both of my kids actually ask if it's time for their cleanings now! I recently (and reluctantly) asked at what age I had to give up Dr. Butler and move my teenagers to a general dentist. Dr. Butler is honestly the best. Two of my children were NICU babies for 106 days, so they were poked, prodded, and were forced food while they were in there. When I finally got to take them home, they had severe oral aversions. My daughter wouldn't even let you touch her lips. They have come a long way since then, but Dr. Butler is so kind and gentle with them. She has been able to give them dental treatments when I never thought that would be possible. My other son is a bundle of energy, and it's tough to get him to sit still, but Dr. Butler's patience, love, and gentle nature gives my kids no choice but to love her. I live in Huntington Beach, but I drive the 30 minutes to go see her, because she's the only one I trust with my children's oral care. Not only is she great with my kids, she's also highly intelligent and she truly knows what she's talking about. She is never trying to up sell or rip us off. She's honest and ethical. I am so glad that I found Butler Pediatric Dentistry! For weeks leading up to our first visit, my three year old told me that he "didn't want to go to the dentist". We walked into the office braced for a bad experience, but that didn't happen. We were immediately taken by the fish tank and the IPads in the waiting room. We were called back without a wait and had an amazing visit! The staff was so awesome with my little one! He was able to choose his toothpaste flavor and even watch a movie while he had his teeth cleaned. The dentist, Dr. Butler, who my little one thought was going to be "so scary" turned out to be great. She even had him talking and giggling. I can't say enough about her and her team. I really don't understand the people who bash this office. We have been coming here since the beginning and have had nothing but positive experiences. We've seen every single doctor that works there and have never had a problem at all. The front office is amazing, always super nice. I've been late a couple times and I am aware of their office policy. I show up and if I'm more than 10 minutes late, I expect to be rescheduled. That's just how life goes. If you're late to the airport, the plane is taking off without you. My child is obsessed with this office and tells me his tooth hurts just so I could take him in. Offices have their ups and downs but even if I have a not so good experience here, the goods will always outweigh the bads! read more

I've had dental fears for years and recently was talking to my sister about needing a cleaning. She suggested that I go see her kid's dentist. I thought I may be too old, but I decided to call and see if I could still go even though I'm 21. Betsy assured me that I could be seen and that they see a lot of college age students. They got me in within the week, even when they were working around my crazy schedule. From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable. By far the best customer service. My son has autism and was really tramazed of the dentist .they let us have free friendly visits. He got x-rays and cleaning done by the third appointment :) They have tablets, books, toys, fish tank for kids entertainment while waiting. They have TV's on the ceiling s for the kids to see a Disney movie while they have there cleaning. After treatment, they get a prize and a balloon my son has gotten a cavity free certificate! read more

The front desk experience was very disappointing--rude, unprofessional, and lacking basic courtesy. I truly enjoyed the initial visit we had with Dr. Butler, but unfortunately, the front desk staff set the tone for the entire experience. Their lack of professionalism overshadowed the quality of care, and for that reason, I will not be returning. I love coming to butler pediatric dentistry. From when you walk in you feel welcomed by the front office! They were quick to get me in when my child was in pain ! The billing process was amazing and fast ! The assistants were great with my child made our experience fun and amazing! All the Drs here are amazing as well very informative. On the way out the front gave my child a balloon and toys made the appointment worth it ! read more

This place was amazing! It was my first time taking my daughter to the dentist so as a mother your always nervous. But the office was very welcoming and my daughter felt comfortable and enjoyed the fish tank and many books. When it came to her teeth being checked she wasn't having it but Dr. Butler showed great patience. I highly recommend this place. This office has been amazing! Both my children love it there. I tried many other dentists for my son who has autism and this one is the only one who could get him to get X-rays done and a cleaning. My boys love coming to see Dr Butler! Today we got meet Dr Vo. They were nervous at the beginning to see a different dentist. I was nervous too, but surprisingly they were calm and happy. Dr Ghowsi is really good with the kids and explains things well for parents like myself understand. His approach is very preventive, so if it's going to be a problem in the future, he'll explain why treatment needs to be done for that particular situation. For the dentist side of things, Dr Kim is awesome too. She is friendly and makes the kids feel relaxed in her approach. There is the regular pediatric dentist side and then the other side is the orthodontic side in the same building. One stop shop for your kids. When I've referred friends to bring their kids here, they say the cost is very competitive to other places, but the service is much better. Office is super clean, and they always clean after each patient.
