On the first visit, he was scheduled for treatment, but when we arrived, the treatment was not provided. Later that day, I received a call apologizing and was told he needed an exam before treatment. While inconvenient, I understood and agreed to come back the next day. During the second visit, the doctor then stated he may need to see a specialist and did not want to work on the tooth until we saw one. We followed that recommendation and saw the specialist, who was confused about why he was referred and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the tooth. Lollipop Doctor advised she would make a small retainer to replace the missing/chipped tooth so my son wouldn't have a visible gap. We were then sent upstairs for a 3D X-ray, but instead of my son receiving treatment, I was pulled aside and given a consultation about braces -- which we were never there for. I requested to speak with an office manager on March 24th and, to this date, I have never received a call back. However, the office continues to call me and text me about starting braces, which is extremely frustrating considering my concerns were never addressed. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and more focused on selling orthodontic treatment than addressing my child's actual dental issue. Due to this experience, I will not be bringing any of my children back to this office.

By the end, I was so uncomfortable going back that I didn't even return to have my braces removed. Dr. Bakar ended up removing them and helping me start over. Finding Dr. Bakar was a complete turning point. From the first consultation, he listened. He took the time to hear my concerns, explain what had happened, and walk me through my options. Every visit since then has been the same. He is patient, understanding, easy to talk to, and never makes me feel rushed. If I have a question, he answers it. If I have a concern, he listens. What impressed me most is the attention to detail he brings to his work. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. As an engineer, he has an incredible eye for precision, and the technology he uses is far more advanced than anything I experienced previously. The difference in treatment has been night and day. I found Dr. Bakar on Yelp because of the great reviews and detailed photos of patients' results. Even though I drive an hour each way to see him, it has been worth every mile. After many prayers, tears, frustration, and regret, finding Dr. Bakar truly felt like an answer to prayer. He came into my life at a time when I had almost given up hope of getting my smile back. I am almost finished with treatment, and for the first time in a long time, I am excited about my smile again. If anyone I know ever needs orthodontic treatment, Dr. Bakar will be the first person I recommend. Today is a Saturday and the office was already closed by the time this happened, so I text the after hours number and Dr Bakar immediately said he could meet us at the office in 10 minutes. It's extremely important that pregnant women get routine cleanings during their pregnancy as they are at increased risk of gum disease. Dr Lee chooses to go against all major guidelines and enforce his own policy denying pregnant women important dental care that they need. I find this to be a red flag, if he's uncomfortable doing a basic cleaning for someone who's pregnant, I wonder if he is truly confident in his skills as a dentist overall.

All of us have had the best experience that was possible when you tell a teenager they will be a "brace-face" for at least two years. People underestimate the importance of having a healthy and straight smile (especially Asians). However, I have to admit that my new smile has opened conversations, made friends, generated business, and even paid off in compliments. You wont believe how many random people have walked up to me and say, "You have such a great smile" and walk away! Just walk away. I think it's because it's a sign that you're happy and healthy which is always important in the business world. A couple of things to highlight: *** Dr. Devian is not only very experienced but also very gentle. He will take the time to explain every procedure and every tool. He's also very funny and remembers even the smallest detail of your personal life that you share with him. *** The staff have been loyal to him for a long time. They are extremely friendly and talk to your family. *** They have a "Smile wall" in which they display photos of the end result: a perfect smile. I remember looking at that wall every time I had to go and thought, "I will be there soon." It was very motivating. *** Dr. Devian's office is also one of the few that will put in a semi-permanent retainer for your lower teeth and continually fix a nice retainer for your uppers.
