Baby girl and I always have an amazing experience at this office, baby girl is always happy to go to the dentist. Which makes me so happy as her mommy lol. Dr. Martinez and his staff are amazing, they are always so friendly and they make baby girl feel so comfortable. She had a cleaning her 6 month check up a couple days ago and forgot to post about it. So doing so now, they have an arcade in the waiting area which is so cool, and plenty of seating for everyone. The parking is a bit small and it looks like a house from the front on Brea Blvd. its such a cute dentist office. They have tvs on the ceilings with movies playing they had red panda which is one of our favorites. They did xrays and cleaning and no cavities for baby girl again yay. She loves coming here, I enjoy bringing her, Dr. Martinez usually comes in at the end after they do the cleaning and xrays. Before coming here, I had visited another pediatric dentist who recommended silver crowns on all of my child's baby molars. I decided to get a second opinion with Dr. Martinez, and I'm so glad I did. While my child did need some fillings, Dr. Martinez assured me that full silver crowns were not necessary. He addressed the cavities while keeping the aesthetics of my child's smile intact. Since then, my kids have only needed their regular six-month cleanings and no additional dental work. This dentistry was great! They have private rooms, so my son was not overwhelmed. Dr. Martinez came to see my son after Tatiana did the cleaning. He really took his time to explain my son's bite and the expansion that was recommended by a previous dentist. I didn't feel rushed and he answered all of my questions. One tip the gps had me go to the front, but the entrance to the parking lot was chained off. I'm not sure if it was because I had an 8 AM appointment. My daughter was nervous and she kept asking to go home but as soon as they walked in she let herself wash her teeth and she listened to the doctor as well. This place is a little hidden and hard to find. It is in a residential area so you have to drive slowly to find the alley to pull into. But the office itself was fantastic. It's very unfortunate to have to write this review, as I have been sending my children to Little Sprout for 3 years and we've been very happy with the care, attention, and service from their staff and Dr. Do & Dr. Martinez. However unfortunately, lack of transparency and very poor communication has led us to have to leave. They decided that they were no longer accepting our original Delta Dental HMO plan, which happens, and even though it was going to be more for us out of pocket, we switched insurance plans just to stay with them. I had to make multiple phone calls both to Little Sprout and my insurance company, Cigna, just to make sure that the insurance plan we switched to was going to be accepted. They confirmed with me that it would be. A couple of visits later, they call me to inform me that I have outstanding balances from our routine visits -- even though these are just regular dental check ups without any special procedures involved. I ask them how this can be possible if our insurance covers basic preventative care within the 6 month windows? They respond very emphatically with "I guess we don't accept the specific insurance plan that you have." Of course ... I'm surprised because we already made the switch over from Delta, and now they are claiming that they don't accept our new plan either. I then ask specifically what plan they DO accept from Cigna, and she says "Cigna Total DPPO Network." This response was only after a lot of very confusing "I'm not sures" and suggestions for us to completely switch over to Blue Shield, Anthem, etc. She suggested that I call into Cigna to switch over to the plan that they accept. Well guess what? I call into Cigna to try and switch again, and they confirm that Little Sprout is a part of the Cigna Total DPPO Network but that the plans within that network are not offered in the state of California which Little Sprout operates in ... I mean I'm sorry but what is going on? I call back to Little Sprout and once again, they respond with a complete lack of accountability in their own lack of knowledge of what they do and don't accept as insurance and tell me that they weren't aware of the "recent change" and seemed completely unbothered to investigate further. She just told me to cancel my insurance and look into another insurance or to pay their cash rate of $160 per child for a visit. I feel so manipulated -- given the run-around with all of the blame shifting and lack of transparency and clarity. I'm extremely saddened by this whole situation but we will not be returning. read more

We went here due to all the high reviews on Yelp and we're happy with our first visit for our 2 year old son. We were asked to fill out the forms online, so when we arrived, we were immediately taken to one of the dental offices. Also, it was nice to see Dylan's name as a "New Patient" when entering which is a nice subtle touch. Narcy walked us to the dental office and was very friendly and explained everything to us, as far as what we were going to do today, as well as what we can expect in the future if we decide to stay with this dental practice. Our son took to her immediately and let her brush his teeth, after "coercing" him with a blue balloon and some stickers. I mention blue because she went out of her way to get the color he wanted since they currently had mostly Christmas colors available. Afterwards, Dr. Martinez came in and did a 2nd check of Dylan's teeth and added fluoride, as well as patiently answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed and he was very nice and accommodating. Overall, we really liked our dental experience here and will be going back after 6 months. I hate to even be writing this negative review. As someone who owns a business I understand the impacts bad feedback can have on a business. But I felt this was important enough to share in hopes no one has the same experience. My kids had been coming here for a few years. My first negative experience happened last year when my daughter needed some work done. Dr Martinez wanted to use oral sedation for the treatment, which I was okay with. I found out later that my insurance did not cover the oral sedation and I would have to pay out of pocket. Okay, no big deal..However the price quoted by the dental office was significantly more than what my insurance said would be the max they should be charging me for the out of pocket expense. Dental office is in network and they have to abide by the in-network agreed rates even if the treatment is out of pocket. That's the whole point of being contracted in network. Dr Martinez disagreed and was firm about what they wanted to charge. After going back and fourth with the office, I decided to just take her somewhere else for treatment. It wasn't the $200+ difference, but more of audacity to charge whatever they felt was appropriate and not abide by the contracted rates. Against my better judgement, we came back this month after my son had an accident that cracked two molars. I wasnt able to get him into the other dentist sooner, and because my children enjoyed coming to this dental office, I decided to give them another try. From the get Dr Martinez wasn't friendly nor inviting like our previous interactions. After xrays confirmed my son did have to cracked teeth, he said my son would need an extraction on one tooth and possibly a crown or extraction on the other. His treatment recommendation was to have it done under general anesthesia, not something we felt was needed on a 5 yr old for extractions/crowns. I understand this makes it easier on the dentist to perform the work, but as parents this is an unnecessary risk. My son had just received 5 stitches to the chin with no issue, I'm pretty sure he could tolerate a less invasive treatment with no general. Dr Martinez was pretty against any other form of sedation and said general anesthesia was the only option. He also mentioned that the wait list for the treatment was 2-3 months! Excuse me?! My son had two cracked teeth causing him discomfort and this was the only solution? Unbelievable. While we weighed our options, we left the room and processed to talk to the assistant at the front desk, who then mentioned that the general anesthesia is not covered by insurance. FYI - The anesthesiologist they use is private and only takes cash. $1000+ for the anesthesia with a $250 cash deposit due at the time of booking (CASH ONLY).. We felt like we were at used car dealer not a dental office needing emergency services on our son. It felt weird to be honest. Never once did Dr Martinez offer a temporary solution for our son to help with the pain. It was like he was finding excuses to not treat him. We felt as if he couldn't wait to get us out of his office. Needless to say, we are disappointed in the entire interaction and highly regret trying to give them another chance after our previous visit. Dr Martinez, I really hope you read this message and take into consideration the way you treat your patients regardless if someone questions bill charges or treatment. These are our children we are trusting in your hands. I recommended a lot of friends and family here but after this I will no longer refer anyone to your services. read more

Our little guy had his first dentist appointment here and it was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we checked in, we felt safe, special and taken care of. Besides extra COVID protocols, like us doing screening questions from the car and hand sanitizer upon our arrival, there were cute touches like our baby's name up on a Welcome board! When we got into the room, my little one was immediately interested in the TV on the ceiling. Watching the Peanuts Movie while you're getting your teeth cleaned was pretty entertaining for him. Carolina did an awesome job with him and we even learned a thing or two about how to attack the plaque. We also loved Dr. Martinez; he was so kind and knowledgeable. We were so happy with every aspect of Little Sprout Pediatric Dentistry. Every process from even before you enter to the moment you leave was smooth and well done. When we first made the appointment, we got a link with all the questions you would need to fill out at any appointment. You can sign everything all through your phone. This made our visit easy because we didn't have to sit there filling out forms. When we arrived, check in was safely done and no waiting was involved. Every single one of their staff from the front desk to doctor himself were just amazing.The techs/nurses who handled the initial visit were so great with both our girls. They were so patient and kind with them. They listened to every one of our questions and concerns. I was very impressed with how they handled every part of our appointment. The X-ray and cleaning was a little difficult for my littlest one, and I couldn't believe how patient they were. One of the things I didn't like about our old dentist office was that if the girls even made one tiny peep, they would stop all efforts immediately. But they tried at Little Sprout, which makes the dental visit worth it. But they're not forceful or mean. They just give more effort like calling the X-ray plate a cookie. They just made things more fun and relatable for the kids. I really commend them for that. Dr. Hernandez was just amazing. He was so incredibly sweet with the girls and very personable. I really loved how he took the time to explain things to us in ways we would understand. He never rushed us or made us feel pressed for time. He was so thorough with the exam and really clicked with the kiddos. I really liked his personality. They gave fun gifts at the end, which always makes the dentist a memorable place to go. My most favorite thing about Little Sprout was the sibling room we were taken to. There were two exam chairs in a very large room. There's a door to the room for privacy. It really is the perfect set up for parents who want to be with all their kids. It was spacious and clean. I thought this was the cherry on top. This is the BEST pediatric dental office I have ever been to. I have a 24 year old who experienced traumatic dental visits. These visits left her fearing the dentist into her teens. In the last 20 years and 2 additional kids, I have seen plenty pediatric dentists. None ever felt right. I too was looking for a dentist and found a dentist that I adore. He referred my 15 and 9 year old to an orthodontist who referred my son to little sprouts. My son is very sensitive to sounds and texture. Narcy always shows my child the tools before use and lets my child feel tools against hand in "on" mode. Narcy explains every step, to keep my child calm and relaxed. In the four years we have been clients, only recently did my child become brave enough to let staff take x-rays. In previous appointments, staff and dentist never pressed me or my child to take x-rays. They really go at the pace of the child and child's needs. Found my kids dentist for life (or until they're too grown!). Our first visit with Dr Martinez was excellent. Both of my kids (4 and 6) did great and were comfortable. Covid precautions are followed, and I felt very safe. My daughter came back today for quite extensive treatment, and saw Dr Park for IV sedation (quite scary for parents). But I knew we were in great care. Cleanest environment Ive seen in a dental office. Dr Park was great, went over every single question I had in store for him, before and after the procedure, he never made us feel rushed. I knew my daughter was in excellent care with Dr Martinez, Dr Park and Dr Do. Jayla has had a great recovery, and her dental work looks great.
