I loved this place! It was great for the kids and made the experience smooth. I have a 3 year old who's antsy and they were very patient with him and found ways to help him be more cooperative for his first time at the dentist. The location itself was a little hard to find, but you just have to read and follow the signs (inside the multi-level building). My appointment was originally scheduled the day before, but when I had to re-schedule.. they had lots of availability! The staff itself was great! I had issues with having my physical ID and insurance cards on me, but thankfully we were able to get it figured out. The doctor herself was great with my kids and answered all my questions. I had to go into this office two days in a row for my son, and both visits were extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time. On the first visit, he was scheduled for treatment, but when we arrived, the treatment was not provided. Later that day, I received a call apologizing and was told he needed an exam before treatment. While inconvenient, I understood and agreed to come back the next day. During the second visit, the doctor then stated he may need to see a specialist and did not want to work on the tooth until we saw one. We followed that recommendation and saw the specialist, who was confused about why he was referred and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the tooth. Lollipop Doctor advised she would make a small retainer to replace the missing/chipped tooth so my son wouldn't have a visible gap. We were then sent upstairs for a 3D X-ray, but instead of my son receiving treatment, I was pulled aside and given a consultation about braces -- which we were never there for. I requested to speak with an office manager on March 24th and, to this date, I have never received a call back. However, the office continues to call me and text me about starting braces, which is extremely frustrating considering my concerns were never addressed. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and more focused on selling orthodontic treatment than addressing my child's actual dental issue. Due to this experience, I will not be bringing any of my children back to this office. read more

I've been bringing my children here for almost 8 years, and I've always loved this office. The dentists are wonderful, patient, and great with kids, which is why we've continued coming back all these years. Unfortunately, the last few visits have been very disappointing because of the dental assistants. They've been consistently rude, unfriendly, and have made us feel like we're an inconvenience. The reason that i give 1 star because they no 0 star to pick. My 2 kid come here couple of times with no problem, but since we change a new insurance, i got a bill , i did call to see why i am been charged for that, and the lady didn't know why. And the next day, after we go check up the my second kid she call me back and said that they don't take my current insurance. ( why u guys don't tell me early so I should not take my second come) . Lollipop Dental in COSTA MESA has failed My four-year-old daughter, who is medically complex with autism, epilepsy, and developmental delays, has had her dental care mishandled at this office for over a year. They repeatedly delayed scheduling, mismanaged medical clearances, and asked me to fix their mistakes. When I called about her urgent pain, red gums, and visible decay, the staff was rude, dismissive, and refused to escalate. This level of negligence and lack of urgency is unacceptable. We came here for a dental treatment bc the Tustin location has a longer wait. The dr and assistants here are so sweet and professional. The staff here are a little disorganized though. Remember to review the treatment plan up front to see what procedures and cost before the appt. When we checked out, they were waiting for a while for the cost and I wanted to pay by credit card, but there will be a fee, so end up paying with my debit...I asked for a itemized receipt and the girl told me they don't do it. I said the one tiny receipt will get rejected by my fsa. And she finally put something together...I thought that's a common request for people that have a fsa or hsa account. read more

I will start this review by saying that if I were only reviewing my office visit I would give them 5 stars, however there os so much more that has been wrong. This last experience has just made me say others need to be prepared and fully informed before going here. So here are some of my experiences. 1. Received a reminder text that they would see my kids the next day at a certain time, I thought I saved the appointment on the wrong date so I took my kids at the time they sent me a reminder for - Office was closed. 2. I had purchased the lifetime retainer plan they offered, called to get some replacements and the person that answered sounded confused, then said I had to schedule an appointment to have molds done. I explained what the lifetime plan was and was told someone would get back to me - no call back, I have since tried to get info on this several times with no response. 3. Daughter has an expander, she broke it metal is hanging out of her mouth and they say just take her to an urgent care, then when I contact them to find out the cost of replacement I am told that they cannot give me an estimate that she has to come in and so a whole new consult before they can give me a treatment plan, several phone calls and emails later they still do not seem to understand that she was already under a treatment but had broken the expander. 4. I noticed that my payments for 2 children were not being reflected in the app. I contact them and am told I would be contacted, no contact. So I get a collections letter months later asking for the payments that had already been made. I call them and explain and give the dates I contacted them and several hours later they say "oh yes we do have your payments but you can't rely on the app we don't use it anymore" hmmm really so why is it that you are threatening to send me to collections in the amount that is reflected on that app but I have proof those payments were made. 5. Then we have today. Scheduled our appointment a month ago. On Friday I received a text with a different time, now based on my previous experience I call and explain ehy I am calling and they said oh yes, we changed it and were just about to call you. . I explain we had other commitments and could not make the earlier appointment. I was told no problem we can move it back (this was after she contacted the office and confirmed it was ok), she also mentioned they have no appointments between the earlier appointments and ours. Then today I get a text again asking to mive the appointment I again explain that I had already told them the day before we could not. So they just cancelled it because they apparently scheduled my appointment for a time when no doctor was available. ​ Though it seems more likely they did not have a full day of appointments and wanted to close early. So an hour before my appointment time it gets cancelled, there would have been a fee charged if I did this, instead I have to wait a month for my kids to be seen. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. I hope this helps someone and prepares people for things they should watch out for. read more
