This diner was great for breakfast! We showed up around 9:15am and there was ample seating. We had a nice corner booth. The coffee we ordered showed up in a kettle I ordered the Chorizo Omelette which came with a side of pancakes. My wife ordered a Veggie Omelette while one of my kids and Mother-in-law ordered Avocado Toast and the other kid ordered the chocolate banana crepes. The Omelettes were good! Buttersmiths is a lovely dinner and just as lovely staff. It is quiet and has a very well designed interior that matches their pretty blue coffee cups. The food selection is nice and the diner vibe is cozy. We had a lovely tasty meal that arrived very quickly. My only observation was that plating the food could be done nicer as evidence in my posted photo. The big bonus is how quiet it is inside and no chaos. I'm no coffee connoisseur, but honestly I didn't want any more than a few sips. Not sure what that nasty flavor was. We had a great experience here at Butter Smith Kitchen. Stopped here on our way back home so that my husband wouldn't have to be eating while driving. We got seated right away and within 5 mins a manager had walked by taken our drink order, someone brought out our drinks, and our waiter came back to take our food order. Our food arrived promptly which I'm not sure if the majority of the food comes frozen and they finish cooking it there but regardless our food was tasty! We got the Biscuits & Gravy with Eggs It comes with two sausage patties, green chile sausage gravy, two eggs, hash browns. The biscuits were amazing super soft and pillowy drenched it hot green chili gravy with a patty in between each biscuit. My husband and I split this dish along with a very sweet slice of peach pie. The peach filling is incredibly sweet so I'd definitely recommend splitting one unless you have a sweet tooth cause it did get overwhelmingly sweet for me. Overall I'd say we were in and out in under an hr and everything was great. Side Note: The reviews between Google and Yelp are wildly different... in situations like this Google has the most reviews and they're generally positive so without invalidating anyone's experience I always say if a place looks good based on food pictures and the reviews are generally positive when looking at different sources then I'd say it's worth a try and hopefully you have a tasty amazing experience or at least you know for yourself whether you'll be back or not! read more

Gave this place a try today and I was very impressed with their pie/dessert selection. Unfortunately we didn't try any today but when I'm back in town I sure will. It was about 12p and they were quite busy so the parking lot was packed and service took a little while but it was still good nonetheless. The Bananas Foster Pancake Platter was delicious but soo sweet. For this plate, I feel like they should serve the eggs and meat on a separate plate. The way it came it was absolutely drenched in the sweet sauce which wasn't appealing unortunately and made everything taste like the sauce. The Grilled Cheese with Tomato Basil Soup tasted great. It looks like they were going for panini but used a waffle maker instead so that was interesting. I just wished the sandwich had a little more cheese in it. The side of fries were a surprise but they tasted good and were a great addition. I'd definitely return in the future to try something else from their very good looking menu and I'll definitely try a slice of pie too! read more

Butter smiths are an updated village inn. The interior has changed but the standard of food has not. I ordered an omelette with gravy on top; the gravy was watery and the omelette was somehow overcooked on the outside and undercooked in the inside. I ordered a chicken, avocado sandwich. I was surprised that it arrived on a hamburger bun. But it was full of flavor and the French fries were cooked perfectly. Also, I ordered a slice of peach pie (not pictured). The crust was flaky and delicious. But the peach seemed a little dry like it was muted when I chose to have it heated. My wife enjoyed the key lime pie and it was perfect. Overall, this place is worth visiting. The staff are very friendly and will need our patronage to keep getting better. We really enjoyed eating at Butter Smith. They had an option where you can pick four sides to create a breakfast plate. They had a lot of options to mix and match. The only complaint I would have was their mango mimosa. The mango juice is Goya and seems to have a lot of preservatives that doesn't make it tasty. I just think it would be minimal to select a mango juice that actually tastes like real mango and will make you excited to drink a mango mimosa. read more

My wife had the avocado toast with poached eggs and a bowl of fruit, and I had the Nashville omelet (sausage, ham, bacon and cheese) smothered with country gravy. I finally got over to Butter Smith Kitchen and Pies which replaced the Village Inn. Not much of a change in ambiance. The restaurant has a nice well-rounded menu and very reasonable prices. It is open, bright, clean, and very comfortable. Butter Smith has a nice, relaxed ambiance for dining, The service I experienced was excellent. The night before I arrived I pre-ordered a Key Lime Pie and it was ready when I arrived. When I walked in I was greeted immediately and led to a booth. The very pleasant waitress was there expeditiously to take my order. I ordered the "make your own breakfast" with four items. I chose a side of three pancakes, a strawberry crepe, a sausage patty, and hash browns. The food was prepared and on my table within ten or twelve minutes. The pancakes were on the small side (not being the regular pancakes served as a main meal) but they were very good. Light with great flavor. Rate them a "B+." The pancakes at Butter Smith show real promise using the regular serving size. The hash browns were not greasy and had a nice texture but they were a bit under seasoned. Rate them around a "B." The sausage patty was good but not outstanding in flavor. Rate it a "B." The strawberry crepe was light and flavorful with the right texture. The cream was delicious. Rate the crepe a "B+." The Key Lime Pie I took home and enjoyed it. The crust of the pie was perfect. However, the pie seemed a little heavy on the thick whipped cream topping compared to the key lime filling. The key lime filling should have been featured more with less cream. The ratio was a bit off, but overall the flavor was good. Rate the key lime pie a "B." It was ok for around here. I look forward to trying other pies at Butter Smith in the future. All in all, this was a pleasant dining experience and the waitress made it doubly so. She was really great! The price was very reasonable for the four items. All the food was good, but I would not say any one item was truly outstanding. Positive reviews on this shithole are either paid, or just lies. I ordered a club sandwich, and I get it, I asked for it plain with just turkey and cheese so it was going to be plain. But I didn't ask for a spot of turkey on one side of the sandwich and nothing in between the second layer. Typically don't post reviews, but got the feeling based on the seeing the reviews here that people are piling on hate for this place due to it replacing Village Inn. Village Inn was fine, but they've put work into updating the interior and the menu, and I think it shows. I've never had problems here, and the service is always great whenever I've gone. Seasoned fries are some of the best I've had, and the Spinach and Bacon Omelette is a favorite. Prices have increased somewhat, but it makes sense given the bit of extra work they seem to put into the menu items. Never had a problem with cold food or seemingly microwaved entrees--everything has always been hot and delicious! read more

Food: the food is constantly served cold or still partially frozen and when told about it they throw the entire plate in the microwave and attempt to reserve it. Service: at best is mediocre on a non busy day. Ambiance: the place looks like it's been open for ten years already. Floor is always dirty, seats are not wiped down and windows are never clean. Had breakfast today 08.28.2023 had 2 great meals one was a skillet with spinach and potatoes with bacon. Second one was Breakfast Enchiladas with 2 eggs and most excellent hash browns. We had been wanting to try this spot for a while. Unfortunately, the food does not measure up to the restaurant furnishings. I ordered the chorizo scramble, which came with pancakes instead of bread, white and yellow American cheese instead of asadero, cotija, or even cheddar.
