We were visiting from out of state and decided to give this little Mexican restaurant a try, even though it looked a bit sketchy from the outside--honestly, that almost made us keep driving! But I'm so glad we went in because the inside was decorated so cute and welcoming. The vibrant walls, and festive vibe immediately made it feel like a hidden gem. Our waiter was training another one, and both were absolutely awesome--super friendly, attentive, and full of great suggestions. They made the whole experience even better! I ordered the chicken salad, and the trainee waiter recommended mixing ranch with their green salsa for the dressing. Oh my goodness, what a game-changer! That combo was incredible. Their green salsa itself was hands-down the best salsa I've ever had--fresh, flavorful, with the perfect kick. The chicken on the salad was cooked and spiced perfectly--juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. The whole dish was fresh and delicious. I can't say I love the location and more specifically the parking lot at this place - it was ROUGH. Plus there were a lot of people just hanging out at the building next door. Seemed odd. However, inside it was so much fun! We actually went on Cinco de Mayo and they did have drink specials. I had their rellleno plate and a couple margaritas. The food was great. The service was attentive. The atmosphere was festive. Definitely a winner! read more

Came in for happy hour and a quick bite with coworkers after work. Pretty decent happy hour specials. A couple people ordered the cucumber margarita which they both said was good. Another ordered the "monster" margarita in the cherry lime flavor (I think, I'm forgetting now lol) but he said it was really good. It was in fact a monster but was only $3 more. So. Why pass that up? I forgot pictures of food but we were all so chatty and I was so hungry, I forgot. The steak fries looked delicious and covered in queso and were a big hit. One coworker said she wasn't sharing when she ordered them but she did. It was a massive plate from the Appetizer section. Another ordered nachos which were a tall layered cheesy pile of goodness. I ordered the chachis burger and it was definitely delicious. Flavorful and juicy. I do wish they'd listen when I say no lettuce or other toppings besides cheese and bacon. But they continue to bring it and it ultimately goes in the trash, uneaten because I don't eat it. Otherwise, no complaints. There is an added gratuity for larger groups, probably over 6 but they didn't tell us that. I didn't love that but I understand it. Good place. Good vibes. Good music. Reasonable prices. It's a little tricky to find especially now with construction going on, but it's at the back parking lot off Main Street. Inside it's decorated adorably, and we found good service and really good food. Both of us had the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. I found the green sauce to be a bit too spicy so I was glad I got it on the side and I could add some, but not too much. My husband on the other hand, drenched his in the sauce. Really good service and a price point comparable to other local restaurants. Give them a try you won't regret it. read more

We visited Las Cruces for Mother's Day weekend and had dinner at Chicha based on recommendations from friends. The food was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and some of the best Mexican food we've had in New Mexico in a long time. Everything tasted authentic but also elevated and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. Definitely one of the highlights of our weekend trip, and we would absolutely come back next time we visit Las Cruces. read more

I LOVE this place. The service the food the drinks. We went for the first time last week...and then went twice more that same weekend. Fri sat and sun. Getting ready to go again right now. If they had a patio they'd have to ban me. The one thing that would make it 100% is to turn off a few of the overhead lights, it's glaring. Today I finally got over to check out the new downtown Chachi's restaurant. First off, the parking area is huge compared to the other restaurant lots. No problems parking here. Inside the restaurant is much larger and open than the flagship restaurant by the university and much larger than the Dona Ana operation. This downtown Chachi's features a separate, divided off bar area if you want to dine in that room. Throughout the restaurant was playing some fairly loud Mexican music. The same type of wood furniture and colorful wall murals add a festive element to the dining experience. The wait staff today was very good, but it did take around fifteen minutes from ordering to get my meal to the table. The menu is exactly the same as the other Chachi's restaurants... essentially this is a classic New Mex restaurant. The prices are moderate for the amount and quality of the food you receive. Today I ordered one of my Chachi's favorites...a huge meal in itself Burrito Supreme filled with shredded brisket along with a little rice, sour cream, and guacamole. The burrito was of course smothered...in this case with green chile sauce. While waiting for its arrival the waitress brought out a basket of tortilla chips with the famous two salsas that Chachi's is known for. The green was good but the red salsa today was particularly flavorful. Both rate an "A" and the chips a ""B." The big bad ass burrito was exceptional as usual. The shredded brisket had a real nice flavor and there was a lot of it. Nothing in the burrito overwhelmed the other ingredients...in other words it had great balance. This was one delicious and filling meal for a very reasonable price. Rate today's dining experience FOUR AND THREE QUARTER STARS....meaning very, very good. If you want to get your fill of great New Mex food in a nice environment stop in at Chachi's downtown. read more

Having enjoyed dinner at Chachi's other locations, we decided to try their new location downtown. Everything was great! The space is larger than the other locations and it's nicely decorated. The food was great, actually better than the other locations. The service was outstanding! We really enjoyed our dinner and plan to return again soon. Our only criticism is that the lighting is too bright and harsh, which detracts. I hope they'll soften the lighting. read more
