Steak fingers and country fried steak.

If you haven't tried this place give it a shot! On the the outside it doesn't look much but those places are always the best eats. We were immediately greeted by Dee she is the most beautiful soul and told us to sit where ever we liked. She was really the best server and was super tentative someone that actually seemed to enjoy there job. Now let me say I got the country fried steak and it was probably one of the best I've ever had. My fiancée got the steak fingers and that was delicious too. This place has been around for awhile and the cook has been doing this for a very long time and use to cook for Hieberts. And to my surprise as old as the place look and feels everything was super clean most places that look like that you would think everything would be super dirty. Anyways the food was amazing and so was the service I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an authentic diner experience and amazing food/service. Country Breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and one biscuit with gravy. Delicious!

Moongate Cafe reminds me of the old time dinners my Dad used to go to that has lovely staff, good food, cozy atmosphere, and has been around 43 years (for a reason). You will always get an amazing meal quickly and made with love. The owners are really lovely people. It is not a fancy place on the outskirts of town but you will have a hot delicious meal! Give it a try!

    - an out-if-the-way location off 70E, this restaurant is best described as simple, clean and straightforward. Servers are kind and pleasant and food is diner inspired. They've been around awhile with a loyal local crowd.

Those steak fingers! Nothing like it! Really enjoyed our brunch today. Service was phenomenal! My husband grew up here. When we pulled up, I was a little apprehensive, but as others have mentioned, don't judge a book by the cover. When you walk inside, it's charming and welcoming and the food is great! We will definitely be back!

All of our meals were good - and prices were every reasonable too - cost under $60 for 5 people. Very simple breakfast menu options and lunch sandwiches too. Classic hometown place, recommended for a nice quick breakfast spot.

Do not let the outside frighten you! Go in and eat. Get the hot salsa and guac to go with your basket of chips. Then get the steak fingers. Sure, their chicken fried steak is tasty and the Mexican food is too. But you want to get the steak fingers. I am a fan of the green chile queso on them but the wife likes the brown gravy. Ask on your 1st visit to get all the gravies to taste test. It's an honest to goodness diner with dinner rolls and salad with every playe dinner. Yeah they close at 3 daily. So ya gotta get there early. Service is awesone. Place is clean and homey. Go

One of the best breakfasts I had while visiting Las Cruces. High quality ingredients, premium sausage & bacon, homemade southern style biscuits. Friendly waitresses and old country atmosphere.

Don't judge this book by its cover. Owned and operated by the same man since the 80's, this tiny place is the gem you're looking for if you're a "greasy spoon" connoisseur. Green Chile pervades, as it should, because Hatch, NM, home of ALL green chile, is right down the road. The food is good and plentiful (and not a trade of quantity for quality). The waitress is one of those true professionals of the craft. No wasted motion. Efficiency balanced with the right amount of attention and care. All the other customers were regulars greeted by name, and we expect to be joining that crowd. We will be back!

Salads and my dad ready for them steak fingers!

The space is huge--couches, communal tables, and plenty of room to settle in whether you're working, meeting up, or just hanging out. It genuinely functions as a co-working space, which is rare to see executed this well in a coffee shop. There's a lot happening here in the best way: they sell records, infused coffee beans, merch, and even fresh sourdough loaves, giving the place a curated, community-driven vibe. The music sealed the deal--hip-hop with strong Common / A Tribe Called Quest energy--setting a relaxed, soulful tone that makes you want to stay awhile. Coffee-wise, I ordered the matcha with oat milk and it was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. Quality clearly matters here. Service was another standout: warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly without feeling forced. They also have a bakery case with assorted items (note for fellow vegans: bakery items are not vegan), though the drink options themselves are still accommodating. Overall, Picacho Coffee Roasters is a great spot for quality coffee, good music, and a space that actually invites you to linger. I'll definitely be back.

There were plenty of outlets around, so no awkward hovering near a wall like a tech-dependent houseplant. I ordered a coconut latte with oat milk, and it was genuinely good. The booth was also dangerously comfortable with the cushioned bench situation. Very easy to convince yourself you're being productive when really you've just found a socially acceptable place to sit for three hours. Customer service was kind, low-key, and pleasantly quiet. The space stayed pretty peaceful most of the time, so if you need silence to study, this is a solid find. I personally need a little more background chaos to keep my brain entertained, but that is very much a me problem. I'd still come back for the latte, the outlets, and the suspiciously comfortable booth.
