This place has the greatest chocolate chip cookie on the entire planet. I cannot overstate the level of perfection. Texture is what you dream about - not necessarily crunchy on the outside but it's like the perfect combination between the crisp (NOT crispy, I mean crisp) / chewy bite that is the perfect amount of carmelization. Then the inside is that incredible, soft bite on top and throughout, with that slightly crisp bottom that melds right into the chewiness of the center of the cookie. Perfect balance of dough and chocolate. Finished with a beautiful sprinkle of sea salt on top that actually stays on the cookie and is present in every bite. Vegan baked goods??!! Let's give it a try. Dulce de leche - not too sweet at all, a good nutty flavor. Buttercream is not sweet and the cupcake itself is very moist Oreo - a bit dry on the outside, the buttercream has mashed up oreos in it, which doesn't make it creamy but with a crunchier texture. There isn't much of a chocolate taste. My least favorite Dark chocolate - the cupcake itself is on the dry side and less chocolate taste. The buttercream is smooth and a rich dark chocolate. Carrot cake - very moist and soft. You can see shaved pieces of carrots. I think it needs a pinch more of cinnamon. The cream cheese buttercream on top is on a sweeter side but really creamy. I didn't like the carrot decorations bc it's too much food coloring in it. Overall, I'm a fan of vegan cupcakes as it's not on the sweet side. There is a balanced ration of buttercream to cupcake. The chocolate cupcakes needs to be baked a bit less and need more chocolate taste. read more

Brand new bakery on the Upper East Side! It's a second location of a bakery in Brooklyn. I was in a rush so I wasn't able to check out whether there were gluten free/vegan options but I did get two classics to see how they stack up and I was not disappointed at all! It's a super small spot (as most bakeries are) but there are two cases of treats and they all looked delicious. The funfetti cake slice was pricey at 11.50 but the cake was yummy and the buttercream was extremely light and silky. Chocolate chip cookie was well browned with crispy edges but still soft in the middle, so it was my perfect cookie! Will be back for a vanilla cupcake (they're a super good deal at $4 I'm regretting my decision not to get that instead of the cake a little bit) and another chocolate chip cookie very soon. *UPDATE* I had to knock a star because when I ate my 12 dollar slice of cake later that night the frosting was still delicious but the cake was oddly super dry. Butterly is a very cute shop that is a great addition to the neighborhood. I stopped in since I wanted to grab a coffee and check out the shop. Unfortunately, they could not make lattes only regular coffee. All of their products looked delicious. I tried the cupcake with chocolate frosting. I didn't realize it till I paid for it that the lady said it was like a meringue type frosting which I am not a fan of meringue. I tasted the cupcake and could not finish it. The vanilla cupcake we purchased was really disappointing. The frosting was dense and slightly tasted like a cleaning spray. And the cake was also really heavy and not tasty either. No one ate it also tried the butter pecan cookie, thought that was an interesting flavor. Did not taste like butter pecan but almost a slight Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor.
