Cute place with lots of seating but the iced coffee was a bit diluted. The pastries and cakes looked great though. Service was good.

Oh my! This place is awesome. So close to my kids place in NYC. Love New York Cheesecake so had to order 5 pieces to go. Salted Caramel was my favorite, but we also got the Red Velvet and Carrot Cake cheese cakes. Perfection.

Mia's Brooklyn Bakery just opened in my neighborhood not too long ago, and it has been busy--for very good reason. I've been wanting to go back myself, but life has been life-ing, so when my mom came to visit and stopped by, I was excited to finally try more of what they offer. We tried the crème brûlée cupcakes, the tres leches cupcake, banana pudding, and my mom got the bread pudding--and baby, we were not disappointed. Everything was so good, so light, and still decadent. Let's start with that crème brûlée cupcake, because whew... it is everything you want it to be. I warmed it up, and the center had that creamy crème brûlée texture, the top had the crystallized sugar, berries on top--it truly delivered. So good. The tres leches cupcake was also adorable--it comes in a little tin and is just as delicious as it is cute. We got the banana pudding for my nana, and she tore that UP, which is all the confirmation I needed. My mom is a serious bread pudding lover, and when she says it's delicious, trust her--it's delicious. I've also had two birthday cakes from Mia's Brooklyn Bakery already, and they did not disappoint. The flavors are always on point, everything tastes fresh, and you can tell care goes into what they make. When you walk in, it feels like a bakery should--so many options it's actually hard to choose. The service is great, the energy is welcoming, and they really offer something for everyone--including vegan options, which I love. It's such a win to have a bakery like this right in the neighborhood. I absolutely recommend them. Go in there. Give them your money. Let them take it. Take pictures. Talk about them. Give them their flowers. We need to support our local businesses, and this one deserves it. I'll definitely be ordering my son's custom birthday cake from them--hands down. They do it all, and they do it well.

From my experience, when a shop presents such a grand and beautiful display of baked products, there's a good chance it won't be fresh or just not that good. Mia has me rethinking that theory. They somehow accomplished both, a beautiful display with great-tasting baked goods. Maybe one the best coconut cakes since moms. BB

Mia's proved to be a great place for a breakfast get together with long time friends. The service was timely and professional while not being too overly attentive. We were there early and had our choice of seats. Naturally with the baby we were close to the restroom. I'm not sure if there's a changing table as I've never used the restroom at Mia's. My Spinach Pie was heated perfectly and not overly seasoned. I'm definitely looking forward to returning for a slice of cake. The atmosphere is relaxing and clean with creative murals on the wall. I'm recommending Mia's Brooklyn Bakery whether you're alone or entertaining friends.

Went back into Mia's to grab some things to bring back home for the holidays and loved their great assortment of treats and friendly customer service! The heavenly brownies were top notch and have so many different delicious flavors in them! I also had to grab some of my favorite classics - the pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake! They were packaged up nicely and should be fine to travel with.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Don't bother reading any further.. no need.. just come here. If you're still reading this, they have such a wide selection of different desserts - cakes, pies, cookies, something for chocolate lovers and for those who love fruits. We grabbed a cookie, napoleon (original, not the fruit one), blackout cake, and a raspberry lemon tart. Not a single one of those disappointed. I was only bummed that we couldn't get even more. Come here. It's delicious, and you won't regret it.

It was honestly so hard to choose between all the amazing options, but we went with the red velvet, blackout, and the strawberry shortcake. (Pro tip: There's a deal if you buy three cake slices!) Some of the best cake I've ever had, hands down!

Came here to pick up some treats for Valentine's Day... good variety and options to choose from. Service was good and staff was helpful. landed on getting a couple of raspberry tarts $9 each - they were delicious. Very light mousse filled raspberry. Also picked up the porcupine (chocolate mousse with raspberry brulee) as a gift. Prices vary per dessert choice. They have cakes, pies, tarts, cheesecakes, cannolis, cupcakes, cookies, etc. This is their newest location and great addition to the UES. Will have to come back to try other treats. Option to dine in or just purchase for take out.

Wow, what a selection of cake slices!! I found out about this place because a coworker brought in an assortment of slices for someone's birthday. This is what's great about this place! I did not try any cake on my visit though (too early in the morning). I got the spinach ricotta turnover. It was a bit bland. Probably not the place for savory items. I got my coworker the porcupine for her birthday and she said it was delicious! At the employee's recommendation I go the cinnamon roll latte. It was delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness! The employees that helped me were very nice and patient as I decided what I wanted. They have plenty of seating. It's a nice space to sit and have your coffee and cake.

I was so excited when I saw this bakery in the UES. Their cakes are so yummy. They are fluffy and flavorful, not overly sweet and just the right amount of icing. They are know for their blackout cake and I totally get it. If you're a local UES person and have tried previous bakery, Little Red Hens, this cake definitely compares to their blackout cake. The blackout cake is heavy but if you share it, it's perfect. The coconut cake was one of the best I've had. The Nutella cake is my personal favorite. Their seasonal was a pumpkin cheesecake and wow, it was one of the best I've had. The only cake that felt average was the caramel cake. It's open until midnight on some nights, a great stop for a dessert on the way home from a night out. They also have a nice indoor set up so you can sit there and enjoy your dessert or other bakery snacks. Service was quick but lines can get long so be ready.

Brought back sweet treats from Mia's Bakery at their relatively new UES location and enjoyed it overall! The pistachio lobster tail featured delicious pistachio cream that had a good nutty flavor without being too heavy. The pastry shell was fresh and crunchy! I'm not a huge fan of rainbow cookies, but my partner really liked them. He also picked out the fruit napoleon which was tasty overall. The cream was fresh and not too sweet, while the pastry layers were flaky and crunchy. They offer an assortment of classic desserts/pastries and also have a sit down area with table service. Looking forward to checking out their other desserts in the future!

I was shocked when I brought cupcakes with me again to visit my best friend's toddler and she remembered these cupcakes! I bought another set of Mia's cupcakes, and she went crazy for them! Mia's I have no idea how you are baking your cupcakes but kids go crazy for them! This is our go-to for cupcakes!

There was a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly. I am boring, so I just ordered the plain vanilla cupcake, but it was just perfect. It was fresh and the cake itself was wonderful. I woke up at…read more5pm and headed straight here from Queens and chose this place over 4 others close by in the area. I hadn't been here in years so when I pulled up I took a step back to take it all in, the cutesy interior which was clean and not too brightly lit. I checked out the cake prices and flavors and when I was sure of what I wanted I stepped up to the counter and began to take pictures bc there were like 4 attendants and I waited for one to engage with me. A young man did he said are you ready to order I said yes and told him I wanted a strawberry shortcake slice $10 and a Brooklyn black out slice (also $10 and the actual reason I came). When he was boxing I took pictures and thought oh maybe I should switch to the hostess slice (out loud). Another attendant said sure, but then the first one pulled up with the boxes and I was like ok I'll just get a cupcake separate. Why I walk back to the cupcakes to choose and the young man starts helping someone new and I look him in the eye he then rushes over but again starts taking another customer. They were 3 customers in the store in total including me so why he didn't want to provide me service I do not know. But it made me so upset I was like wow am I really gonna spend this much money and this guy is being rude. I had to now get in line behind the 2 other patrons that came in after me. The attendant who rung me up tried to empathize and offered me a free $1 candle- it came from a cup of candle in front of the register and when he placed it on top of the box it rolled onto the counter and I said how many ppl touched that?? It's going in a cake someone is going to eat. I declined the candle, paid and probably will never return. Strawberry shortcake slice was a 6/10 tasted old Hostess cupcake 10/10 I inhaled it no crumbs Brooklyn blackout cake 15/10 moist, thick chocolate perfect. Now I'll tell you right now the birthday cake I got my sister was worth the $25 and change I paid for it. She liked it, I liked it, it made her happy- but the service made me frown I really didn't like it. Total rating 3.5

Okay I was cracking up about my experience here because I literally asked the dumbest question to…read morethe guy working but he was so nice and explained the answer to me until I understood! So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. While the presentation was 10/10 across the board, the flavors ranged from "nostalgic perfection" to "a bit of a letdown." Devil Dog (The Winner): This was by far my favorite. It was a trip down memory lane, perfectly capturing that nostalgic Hostess chocolate cupcake flavor I loved as a kid. Lemon Raspberry Meringue: Coming in a close second, this cupcake was bright, fruity, and incredibly fresh. It felt light and offered a great balance to the richer flavors in the box. Ube: This cupcake was stunning to look at. However, the flavor didn't quite live up to the exotic profile of a purple yam; it tasted like a traditional vanilla cupcake that just happened to be purple. Great for the aesthetic, but standard in taste. Hummingbird: This was the only real disappointment. I was expecting the signature tropical punch of pineapple, but it lacked that acidity. Instead, it felt more like a simple banana nut muffin with icing on top. Final Verdict: Overall, the experience was positive. The shop clearly has a talent for decor and nostalgia. I'd definitely return for the Devil Dog and the Lemon Raspberry, but I might skip the Hummingbird next time. Last Note: The woman working in the bakery was a bit rude and had an attitude and that alone will make me not com back no matter how good the cupcakes are.
