    Strawberry Shortcake

Cute dessert spot with a french cafe inspired look. A surprising contrast to the original Mias Brooklyn Bakery. It's on the smaller side but still has a majority of the dessert options. I got the strawberry short cake which was delicious and the perfect sweetness. I do prefer a much lighter cake but still found it light enough. Everyone was attentive and kind.

Cute place with lots of seating but the iced coffee was a bit diluted. The pastries and cakes looked great though. Service was good.

Oh my! This place is awesome. So close to my kids place in NYC. Love New York Cheesecake so had to order 5 pieces to go. Salted Caramel was my favorite, but we also got the Red Velvet and Carrot Cake cheese cakes. Perfection.

Mia's Brooklyn Bakery just opened in my neighborhood not too long ago, and it has been busy--for very good reason. I've been wanting to go back myself, but life has been life-ing, so when my mom came to visit and stopped by, I was excited to finally try more of what they offer. We tried the crème brûlée cupcakes, the tres leches cupcake, banana pudding, and my mom got the bread pudding--and baby, we were not disappointed. Everything was so good, so light, and still decadent. Let's start with that crème brûlée cupcake, because whew... it is everything you want it to be. I warmed it up, and the center had that creamy crème brûlée texture, the top had the crystallized sugar, berries on top--it truly delivered. So good. The tres leches cupcake was also adorable--it comes in a little tin and is just as delicious as it is cute. We got the banana pudding for my nana, and she tore that UP, which is all the confirmation I needed. My mom is a serious bread pudding lover, and when she says it's delicious, trust her--it's delicious. I've also had two birthday cakes from Mia's Brooklyn Bakery already, and they did not disappoint. The flavors are always on point, everything tastes fresh, and you can tell care goes into what they make. When you walk in, it feels like a bakery should--so many options it's actually hard to choose. The service is great, the energy is welcoming, and they really offer something for everyone--including vegan options, which I love. It's such a win to have a bakery like this right in the neighborhood. I absolutely recommend them. Go in there. Give them your money. Let them take it. Take pictures. Talk about them. Give them their flowers. We need to support our local businesses, and this one deserves it. I'll definitely be ordering my son's custom birthday cake from them--hands down. They do it all, and they do it well.

From my experience, when a shop presents such a grand and beautiful display of baked products, there's a good chance it won't be fresh or just not that good. Mia has me rethinking that theory. They somehow accomplished both, a beautiful display with great-tasting baked goods. Maybe one the best coconut cakes since moms. BB

Mia's proved to be a great place for a breakfast get together with long time friends. The service was timely and professional while not being too overly attentive. We were there early and had our choice of seats. Naturally with the baby we were close to the restroom. I'm not sure if there's a changing table as I've never used the restroom at Mia's. My Spinach Pie was heated perfectly and not overly seasoned. I'm definitely looking forward to returning for a slice of cake. The atmosphere is relaxing and clean with creative murals on the wall. I'm recommending Mia's Brooklyn Bakery whether you're alone or entertaining friends.

Went back into Mia's to grab some things to bring back home for the holidays and loved their great assortment of treats and friendly customer service! The heavenly brownies were top notch and have so many different delicious flavors in them! I also had to grab some of my favorite classics - the pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake! They were packaged up nicely and should be fine to travel with.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Don't bother reading any further.. no need.. just come here. If you're still reading this, they have such a wide selection of different desserts - cakes, pies, cookies, something for chocolate lovers and for those who love fruits. We grabbed a cookie, napoleon (original, not the fruit one), blackout cake, and a raspberry lemon tart. Not a single one of those disappointed. I was only bummed that we couldn't get even more. Come here. It's delicious, and you won't regret it.

It was honestly so hard to choose between all the amazing options, but we went with the red velvet, blackout, and the strawberry shortcake. (Pro tip: There's a deal if you buy three cake slices!) Some of the best cake I've ever had, hands down!

Came here to pick up some treats for Valentine's Day... good variety and options to choose from. Service was good and staff was helpful. landed on getting a couple of raspberry tarts $9 each - they were delicious. Very light mousse filled raspberry. Also picked up the porcupine (chocolate mousse with raspberry brulee) as a gift. Prices vary per dessert choice. They have cakes, pies, tarts, cheesecakes, cannolis, cupcakes, cookies, etc. This is their newest location and great addition to the UES. Will have to come back to try other treats. Option to dine in or just purchase for take out.

Wow, what a selection of cake slices!! I found out about this place because a coworker brought in an assortment of slices for someone's birthday. This is what's great about this place! I did not try any cake on my visit though (too early in the morning). I got the spinach ricotta turnover. It was a bit bland. Probably not the place for savory items. I got my coworker the porcupine for her birthday and she said it was delicious! At the employee's recommendation I go the cinnamon roll latte. It was delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness! The employees that helped me were very nice and patient as I decided what I wanted. They have plenty of seating. It's a nice space to sit and have your coffee and cake.

I was so excited when I saw this bakery in the UES. Their cakes are so yummy. They are fluffy and flavorful, not overly sweet and just the right amount of icing. They are know for their blackout cake and I totally get it. If you're a local UES person and have tried previous bakery, Little Red Hens, this cake definitely compares to their blackout cake. The blackout cake is heavy but if you share it, it's perfect. The coconut cake was one of the best I've had. The Nutella cake is my personal favorite. Their seasonal was a pumpkin cheesecake and wow, it was one of the best I've had. The only cake that felt average was the caramel cake. It's open until midnight on some nights, a great stop for a dessert on the way home from a night out. They also have a nice indoor set up so you can sit there and enjoy your dessert or other bakery snacks. Service was quick but lines can get long so be ready.

Brought back sweet treats from Mia's Bakery at their relatively new UES location and enjoyed it overall! The pistachio lobster tail featured delicious pistachio cream that had a good nutty flavor without being too heavy. The pastry shell was fresh and crunchy! I'm not a huge fan of rainbow cookies, but my partner really liked them. He also picked out the fruit napoleon which was tasty overall. The cream was fresh and not too sweet, while the pastry layers were flaky and crunchy. They offer an assortment of classic desserts/pastries and also have a sit down area with table service. Looking forward to checking out their other desserts in the future!

Fantastic gelato near Times Square broadway district. Perfect for after a show!…read more We sampled a lot of the flavors and they were all very good but the three best for us were strawberry, chocolate, and pistachio. They taste like they use real flavoring and not artificial flavors. Some of the white chocolate flavors are a bit overly sweet for me but that's how real white chocolate is to me as well so all the flavors are pretty spot on.

This review is for the Anita Gelato located in the Theater District (there is more than one)…read more There are many flavors to pick from. The way the containers are sold is what they call a regular, medium and large. We did see cones as well, but we were offered prices for the contaibners, so we went with that. You can have one or two flavors in the regular, up to three flavors in the medium and up to four flavors in the large container. Or, you can have just one flavor - up to you. Note to keep in mind: Gelato melts fairly quickly, so if you select flavors like chocolate, mango, and strawberry mascarpone and ricotta in the same container, you are going to have a gastro-nightmare in your mouth! Therefore, I recommend you select flavors that have similar ingredients or are complimentary in some way. As an example, we got the dark chocolate, the hazelnut mousse and chocolate crunch, and the stracciatella. Our favorite was the dark chocolate (plain). The hazelnut mousse was too grainy and sweet for our liking. The stracciatella was nice, but lacked depth of flavor to the gelato overall. Staff will let you try samples on a small spoon if you are undecided. The line can be long (out onto the side walk) to get in, and there are very few tables. So, when you make your order unless you are there on a "down time" be prepared to walk and eat your gelato (another reason to keep in mind the flavors in case of drips on your clothes)! The scoop is served standing up in the container. After the adjacent theaters let out, the line is long. We got a regular size container and with the tax and tip it was just a little over $11. The regular size container is suited to one person. The medium can potentially serve two people if you share "nicely" with each other! They also sell yogurt and coffee drinks. We were in town just for a few days, so we only tried three flavors, but if we were back in the area again, we would try some of the fruit-flavors they sell. Enjoy!

But the taste is great, the portions are huge, and it's definitely worth it! Pistachio: The pistachio flavor is very strong, even a bit salty. Those who like it will love it, while those who don't might find it strange--for example, my dad thought it tasted like salted fish. No Sugar Added Hazelnut: The best of the bunch. The nutty and creamy aroma of hazelnuts is rich, and because no sugar is added, it's not too sweet. A pure yet exquisite flavor. Strawberry Mascarpone & Ricotta: Amazing! It tastes like strawberry cheesecake! The perfect amount of cheese, combined with the refreshing strawberry jam, is simply wonderful. Cranberry: A very simple fruit sorbet. Most people might find it too sour, but for someone like me who loves sour flavors and had just eaten in Thai restaurant like Tha Phraya, it was perfect.
