They made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in and were very open and understanding of my questions. 4 stars because they should of given me $20 more for my pawn, but since I was in a pinch I rolled with it. And also, 5 stars is reserved for people and places that go above and beyond, which is rare, in my reviews... So a 5 star is hard to come by for me. If they would have given me that extra $20 that would of put them in this rating. Tip: Like any pawn shop, they don't really give you what your stuff is worth because they do after all need to be able to resell it to make a profit. I am reading some of the reviews about the customer service here and wanted to say that I have never had an unpleasant interaction with anyone. They are all professionals who keep their cool even when the circumstances are extreme. From what I have seen customers forget that the staff work two jobs here. One job is on the retail floor where they sell items and the other is on the pawn shop side. All the staff bounce between these two job duties. The staff here also must function within specific guidelines for what they can offer for an item or the price they can sell an item for. Buy Sell Loan is in the business to make money, but they are not out to scam you. Most of the folks here are just doing their jobs. I would say come here if you are looking for jewelry that costs less than retail but be patient with the staff. They have a lot on their plate. read more

Do not ever pawn anything with them I had pawned some jewelry that my deceased mother had given to me there..i went to go pay the interest because I couldn't afford to get my items out. I was kindly informed that two of my items had been redeemed. How is that possible when I had the original ticket. I was then told that maybe I forgot that i picked it it up..wow. so I asked to see a copy of the so called signed ticket and the signature was not mine... mind you you have to show id to redeem your things...i never lost my license. BROKEN GUITARS! I bought my wife an accoustic guitar here, for almost $200, and it seemed fine to me but I'm no expert so I took it to a music shop to get cleaned up with new strings and found out that the nut was so worn down that it couldn't be tuned/setup without buzzing. They, and 2 other shops, quoted me almost $200 to get it fixed. Not worth it. Took it back to the pawn shop and of course NO REFUND, NO EXCHANGE, NO CREDIT. Stay the hell away. I couldn't wait to get my guitar out and write this in case they tried to pull some shady shit on me. I wanted to tell their only customer that was in the store when I showed up to run away. Before I couldn't even set foot in the store your greeted by a huge jail cell that they need to unlock for you. I was literally standing there for a minute with the sensor going off the entire time while the fat lazy lame security guard is just yapping on his phone literally right next to the gate and all he had to do was push a button to let me in. Every last person that works here is extremely in professional. I pawned my limited edition fender strat worth $740 used. Victor literally spent 15 minutes surfing the web trying SOOO hard to find the lowest price he could and I knew that's exactly what he was doing. I even showed him the website where I bought it and found one used. But he based it off a red colored one that was lower in price rather than my actual colored model. I was trying to pawn it for $300 and he really said that's probably the price you could sell it for to someone. Wtf? And then this guy really said he took the price he found online and divided that by half and said I could do $130. Then I politely asked can you do it for at least $150 and he just straight up said no. So I said okay I'll just take the $100 and I wish everyone could see the look in that man's face when I wanted something lower than the price he originally gave me. Yeah Victor I'm not just someone who will take ANYTHING you offer like my life is gonna change with that money. Yesterday I had such a positive experience selling a gold chain at Buy Sell Loan that I went back today to sell more. This store is very clean, bright and pleasant and the three employees I worked with were knowledgable, fair, professional, respectful and personable. Edwin is now my go-to guy when I have something to sell. Ramon and Minnie were terrific too. Very convenient location with easy parking. Number one reason for coming from San Leandro all the way up here on Sunday, December 1st was that they were open on a Sunday and not rude on the phone. I always do my homework on yelp when we are trying new places and all the reviews and tips I read about this spot were great. Not a single bad thing to say and after making my visit there I can understand why. Ramon was the person to assist us and he was beyond helpful. Gave us all the run down on getting a loan and payments and so forth. He answered all of our questions and even explained how they get the value of items being pawned for loans. Ya learn something new everyday, right?! They have plenty of stuff in store to choose from if you are looking to buy as well. Very nice handbags for the ladies, laptops, digital cameras, televisions, tools, video game consoles, musical instruments and even artwork. I mean high end stuff, worth your money and time. Well I came here with an authentic vintage well known piece. In less than 1 minute the first service rep told me it wasnt worth anything because there were no precious metals or stones. I asked if she even opened the item because then she wouldve seen it for herself The makers mark and company quality logo, along with it also clearly stating inside that there are 15 jewels and it is 14k Gold FILLED. Instead she passes me off to the other CSR. This time at least it seemed like he took a moment or 3 seconds longer to inspect the item, but came back and told me that it was registering different things so they would pass. Ok, I'm cool with that decision and can respect that, but I was under the impression that this pawn shop had knowledge of high end pieces, especially the name of the piece and who it was made by. I Felt as a possible come back customer they could've at least checked on line about the piece I had, I was the only custo.er there at the time, so they could've asked more questions s about from me..etc ..I'm guessing this place is more like a cash for gold and into more Mainstream Trendy names. But if you have something vintage, rare, antiquish... I wouldn't recommend it. This has been my forth visit and each time I have not been disappointed. If your like me and want the best value for your gold then this is the place to go. They are professional and treat you with respect and kindness. I always do my research but the associate Ramon is great at giving you the 411. He estimates your gold and tells you if it's worth the sale or not. Most of my items were sentimental pieces and Ramon would recommend that I hold on to those pieces if they are really special to me. I don't think I've ever experienced something like that a a pawn shop and that is really a quality that sells because I'm not the next bill coming in. The employees who are currently working at this location have been consistently providing quality matter-of-fact service, almost to a fault. Even when this locations customer base show dissatisfaction, they stay professional during the interaction. If there any issues, they are usually resolved promptly. After the riots from last year, and other factors, some items were no longer being accepted for sale/pawn at this location, which is a shame. It was a business decision. This was a very interesting pawn shop. It looks very high end and they stock high end items..... sorta. I liked the Asian collectibles and bought some. The people that worked there were very nice. Lawrence helped me with my purchases. He was very friendly and professional. I like to go to pawn shops and buy a variety of items and this is one I will add to my list of potential purchases in the future. They featured art on the walls, no Monet though, Jewelry, watches, high end sunglasses, tablets, flat screens, and lots of instruments. We bought a sax, and some antiques. I drove from Vallejo to Oakland because the Buy Sell Loan Inc. website listed their business as "open." After driving to their location in Oakland I found they were indeed open. Unfortunately, once inside their store I found there was a guard at the door who buzzed me in, and a cashier/clerk behind the glass-encased counter, but there was no merchandise in their cases! I asked if they had any watches for sale and was told "Yes, but we haven't put anything out today, we can help you tomorrow." His attitude was rude and condescending, he pointed at the cases as if to say 'Can't you see there is nothing out on the floor?' I commented that this was unfortunate and left the store in search of another place to find watches. Aside from the fact I drove 26 miles to get there, I was also prepared to spend 8,000 dollars for a nice Rolex. It seems to me that if you advertise that you are "open" for business, you should actually conduct business when your doors are unlocked and you have a customer standing at your counter. After making faithful payments for two years, they defaulted me on a $3k necklace over a $10 discrepancy in the payment we mailed in. Said they tried to call "several times" yet no message left, no missed call and no email I can find. They mailed me a letter on 12/29/17 saying we might be defaulted if they couldn't reach us. These guys are either shady or dense, or both...brought in my almost 1 karat each high quality diamond earrings, and they told me they were fake and only worth their weight in gold. Despite my showing a warranty for them from a reputable east bay jeweler, and offering to show them an appraisal from a high end jeweler. Nothing about me is fake, including my jewelry. So I bounced down the street to another shop that recognized the worth of my earrings, and knew they were real, and I got more than I was hoping for for them. I just got back from attempting to sell some misc. stuff I unearthed when cleaning out my garage. They said they don't buy CRT TVs (the non-flat screen type), or framed prints, or lamps...the only thing they did buy was a DVD player with remote and composite RCA cable. For $5. (The cable alone costs around that much if you're trying to buy a new one.) Now I'm okay with the fact that they're super selective about what they buy--they have almost no room in their shop to house anything besides a smattering of electronics, instruments, tools and jewelry. What burns me is the prices their electronics were listed for are roughly what they would have cost new. But they're not new; they're used. So they're charging close to original retail for used electronics (computers, etc.) that were probably purchased from some poor desperate schlub for a song and then exorbitantly marked up. In other words, they're taking you for a ride from both ends--the sellers, who are too desperate to say no to the most paltry offer, and the buyers, who are charged through the nose for outdated electronics, etc. The store is clean and staff friendly, for whatever that's worth. I suppose it's the least they can do to encourage people to support their warped, exploitative business model. For all the good it did me, I may as well have stayed home, thrown the DVD player in the trash and saved the trip there and back. Then again, maybe I'm the asshole. To the extent that there are enough suckers out there to keep them in business, power to them for making it work. In the future, I'll stick to doing business with people who don't prey on the ignorant or down and out for their own ends. read more

Calm, relaxing environment. There are stools to sit down on at the counter, which makes the experience comfortable and stress free. The employees speak openly to each other and to the customers. (NOT that old fashion pawn shop experience of disappearing employees to dark back rooms where whispers can be heard) Very nice place, open feeling, and just genuinely a nice place to be in. I have been a client at Buy Sell Loan for a couple of years. The staff had always guided me throughout this time and always treated me with professionalism and dignity. The store was always clean, well stocked with Paintings, crystal, jewelry, high level electronics and even musical instruments.-- it was always a pleasant experience. Yesterday I arrived and found a new drastic security system installed ( I understand the need for security) however that along with the drastic changes internally, no art,no crystal, the electronics were of poor quality and the power tools sort of just laid in a pile. A staff member was more concerned about feeding the meter to their car and my transaction was interrupted frequently over the concern of this employees' parking dilemma. Sometimes going into a Pawn Shop is difficult enough add in an indifferent staff, dismal surroundings and some drastic security measures I won't be Coming back. read more

Stumbled upon this pawn shop after another one was closed, happy it was. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff, Ramon attended me with my pawn item, I thought I was going to struggle getting 100$ for a camera with an extra lens worth over 1,200$, other places are like that. This was not the case, I did not feel I was treated as a crack head with stolen merchandise, nor felt insulted by the offer made to me.
