Another great experience here! We were seated right away & our drink order taken. I recommend their hurricane drink that is full of flavors! My go to here is their tuna that's cooked perfectly with a little pink inside and has really good seasoning

No food no water not even a hello from the server that walked by 5 times

Poor service when not busy in the least - seated and waited 10 minutes not even checked on. I wouldn't come here if starving and the last place in Lincoln - run don't walk away from this disaster of a restaurant.

Dog friendly patio My hubby went to look for server and we got out seats outside promptly. We waited about 10 minutes before we were tended to. They had apparently forgotten to let our server know she had a table outside. But once she knew, it all went very smoothly. She took our orders for drinks and appetisers. And got right to eat. The drinks took a little longer but she also promptly informed us that they were coming. We got gator fries for appetisers Lightly battered and crispy alligator bits. They were tender with a wonderful mustard sauce It was delish!!!!! Then she took our food orders. I ordered a crayfish etoufee It was delicious. Bits of crayfish in delicious gravy. I have to say the gravy looked like it had been dished out awhile whilst waiting for either my hubby's food or my bread. Presentation of the gravy looked a little congealed but the taste was good. Hubby's food tasted wonderful too. I had to use the restroom before leaving and the decorations in the restaurant felt like i was thrown back in time to the 1960s. The restroom was well maintained and clean. I will definitely be back to try more. I had my eyes on something else on the menu too 4 stars! We will definitely be back!

We had a very nice lunch here. New place for us. Located in thr old Haymarket. We sat on the patio and ordered a drink and Gator fingers. Delicious. Light breading. And the sauce served was perfect. I had the chicken czarina. It was nice but the sauce was a little heavy.

Joined some coworkers for a meal while traveling in Downtown Lincoln! Sat outdoors and the view was great! Loved being able to see the town and dine. Massive menu with lots of options - ordered the Creole Crab and Corn Soup for an app, and the Blackened Chicken Caesar as a meal. The soup was a bit on the salty side for me unfortunately. And pretty standard caesar salad with grilled chicken / nothing too crazy there. Nice and polite staff! Next time if I return, would probably want to explore other menu options!

Great location in heart of downtown Lincoln, parking is always a pain, very cool decor, old school gas pumps, signs with a deeps south feel, service was slow, once our food arrived waiter never came back to check on us, didn't refill my drink or ask how the food was. We ordered the Armadillo eggs, the taste was ok but way overcooked, bacon burnt, chicken was dry. The grilled shrimp skewer had zero flavor, no seasoning, corn and crab soup was super salty, I ordered the Cajun platter that came with seafood gumbo, Jambalaya and blackened catfish, the only thing decent was the catfish, very fresh and clean, cooked well, the thick tomato pasty hard rice substance they called gumbo is not gumbo, the Jambalaya was ok, but again overloaded with tomato, couldn't taste anything else in it. It's a shame I love Louisiana cuisine but won't be back to try this place again.

Was in town for work and ordered some food online and this is what I received. Not worth the money.

Pretty cool place in a great spot downtown Lincoln. The bigger was solid and the service as well. I will be back to try some of their cajun food. Unfortunately I was not too hungry and didnt even finish the whole burger. I am sure the row is a blast during football and basketball games. Go see them. The bartender waited on me as well. John was jis name i believe. He did a fine job.

Can not say enough about how good this meal was! We loved it all. The service is always above par but today we had THE food! My husband said "best blackened catfish filet he ever had". The gumbo was terrific and my crescent city chicken was equally delicious. BEST FOOD in the Haymarket.

Blackened catfish was great. Service is friendly. It's a very casual place with a kitschy atmosphere. Good food in a relaxed environment.

Slow to get appetizer/food, but the restaurant looks very midwestern, I think the brick work looks nice, and the plating was done well.

I sat at the bar and had phenomenal service. I got the Aragon burger with a tallow fries, covered in bacon jam! I will have to say, this is one of the better burgers I've ever had in my life. It came out very hot, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The sauce is super yummy. But it's a grilled onions that really make it. The fries came out hot, crispy, and very tasty. This is a phenomenal restaurant with some very good food. Unless you're lucky you get a seat at the bar, I'm sure reservations are required.

Service was very good. We were seated promptly and asked if we were ready for the next course at appropriate times. We had the 3 course dinner with the summer salad, lasagna Bianca and steak. I personally thought the salad was the best! The array of flavors was very satisfying from the crunch of the pine nuts to the smoothness of the ricotta to the tanginess of the dressing. Would highly recommend. The lasagna was good... but very one note... and that note is "richness". It didn't really taste like anything more, which in effect made it not much different from an ordinary lasagna I could make at home and not pay that much for it. The steak was not well seasoned, which I wouldn't have minded but the cook was a bit beyond the medium rare I asked for. Overall I probably would be back to try something else. But dish is still superior in terms of fine dining in Lincoln in my opinion.

For many years, The Eatery has been a fixture in east-central Lincoln. I'd heard plenty of positive…read morecomments about the restaurant over the years, so I finally decided to stop in for lunch and see what it was all about. Unfortunately, the first impression could use some improvement. Upon entering, guests step into a small lobby with two interior doors--one designated as the entrance and the other as the exit. Once inside, a host greets you, hands you a menu, and escorts you to your table. Along the way, you pass the restaurant's salad bar, which should serve as an inviting showcase of the food offered inside. Instead, the salad bar was the low point of my visit. On the day I was there, it appeared messy and poorly maintained. A salad bar requires constant attention to keep it looking fresh, attractive, and clean, and that simply wasn't the case during my visit. Given its prominent location, it creates an impression that management should work harder to improve. The Eatery's menu, however, is extensive and impressive. There's truly something for everyone. The unlimited salad bar is priced at $14.99, or $7.99 when added to an entrée. Based on what I observed, that seemed a bit steep, so I decided to pass. Instead, I ordered the Smokey Chicken Stacker with fries on the recommendation of my server. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was flavorful, the fries were perfectly prepared, and the meal arrived at my table less than ten minutes after ordering--a testament to an efficient kitchen. Overall, I came away believing that The Eatery serves solid food, but the décor, atmosphere, and overall layout feel somewhat dated and uninspiring. The appearance of the salad bar was the biggest negative of the experience for me. Would I return? If I lived or worked in the neighborhood, probably yes. However, since I don't, it's unlikely that I would make a special trip back.

When you walk in, you are hit with the smell of fresh burgers and sides being prepared in front of you. It's a counter order style restaurant where you order first then sit and collect your food after. We tried a little of everything during this visit: Burgers, Sweet potato fries and Parmesan truffle fries. The burger was definitely the star of the show. The Reading Rainbow has a hearty portion of peanut butter on it, combined with their version of jelly, making this burger extremely filling. Now to the fries, and reason for 4 stars. Both of our fries arrived a little cooler than I would expect for freshly made items. The sweet potato fries were crispy, yet lacked flavor. The truffle fries were disappointing. They were very dry and had what seemed like seasoning and cheese dumped in the container. I'd expect some oil for the "truffle" label, but there appeared to be none. Overall, I'd be willing to give Honest Abe's another try for their sides and try another burger to see how it compares!
