Went to lunch at this little hideaway after some kayaking at John Pennekamp. We had a relaxing view of the water as we enjoyed an amazing hogfish wrap, lobster salad and fish tacos. Our server was super friendly and accommodating to our needs and went the extra mile giving us plates to share a a carafe of ice water. We ended our perfect lunch with a yummy key lime pie. We took our 3 hour old catch of snapper to this hook and cook favorite. The chef did a fantastic job! We had 3 different preparations, tacos, blackened and Berts Way. The Berts prep was by far the best. All were terrific, tasty. The salads were fresh and crisp. The atmosphere and the ocean breeze made the outdoor seating a crowd pleaser. We had a wonderful dinner here the other night. Seared Ahi appetizers were perfection followed by a mixed Seafood entree done just right. Wife had coconut chicken with sides. Drinks were tropical and I waived the rum floater while wife had that added. That will straighten your hair! Service was friendly and timely and we were seated right away outside with great ambience. We were trying other places too but decided to eat here again. Be forewarned! They do take reservations and the place gets really busy after about 6. Fish sandwich - I didn't know what to expect. I like blue cheese and I like fish. Together? Yes, it works. Sandwich was outstanding and again lots of fish little expensive and completely worth it. Total hidden gem! Was looking for seafood restaurants on Yelp & came across Buzzards, we decided to drive over & give it a try. Totally off the beaten path in a residential area. We sat inside & our waiter Alex came over & explained the menu, he was a sweetheart, so was the lady manager, forgot her name. Since it was our 1st time trying them out. Let me tell you we ordered the fish ceviche for our appetizer & it was so fresh & delicious! I had the fried shrimp dinner, the shrimp were huge & so good. My spouse ordered the seafood platter & everything in his dish was amazing, huge scallops, fresh fish & shrimp. I ordered a watermelon mojito, which was delectable! Love this place! Lovely hidden gem tucked away on the cove. Great views and good food. Had a large party and got seated quickly but it took quite a while to be greeted. Not sure what happened, but iur server, Darcy, made it all better--she was fantastic. She was attentive and anticipated our every need. Would return just for her! Ordered conch appetizer and they were decent. There for lunch and decent assortment of lunch and regular features. Our table had fish tacos, mahi lunch special, mahi sandwich in a tortilla, caprese sandwich, and barge burgers. Didn't get to try any adult beverages but they sounded delicious. Dined at Buzzard's twice and both experiences were flawless. Ask for a table outside. Sitting out back with a view of the canal is so relaxing. On my first visit, they had a great steel drum musician that really set the tropical vibes. Drinks wise, their Pina Coladas & Margaritas both receive my stamp of approval. Have had reasonably good luck with this place--we boat there--in the past. Somewhat inconsistent. Today wasn't good. I was served burnt French Toast. Our server Alex--good guy--promised to replace it. He took it away, and within 2-3 minutes (surprisingly quickly) a different, female server dropped off without comment a "new" order of French Toast that looked to be cooked appropriately...e.g. not black and burnt. But wait: I turned the pieces over and...burnt. I am pretty confident that the new order was the old order just flipped over. Alex appeared after a few minutes, and he could see what I was dealing with. He offered to have another "new" order made for me, but by then I was really hungry. I a bit of it. Look, I don't mind kitchen mistakes but SOMEONE, not Alex, was just trying to push out bad food...TWICE. That's shameful. read more

Saw lots of wild life - pelicans, iguana, and other birds. Watch out there are a lot of mosquitoes!! Food was delicious!! We ordered the Buzzards Seafood Pasta (my personal favorite), Seafood Combination Platter, and chocolate turtle pie. Service was absolutely wonderful. When a family was being seated next to us, one of their little girls came over and tried to grab the lemon out of my water. We had a small family group and sat outside allowing plenty of social distancing. They were very accommodating. The fish dip is a good appetizer to start with it's not too wet and not too dry with table water crackers and flat crackers. Conch fritters went fast. I didn't even get one! Conch chowder is a thin red broth with a little slice and a few carrots, potatoes and little pieces of conch. Good flavor. Bert's conch cakes were my favorite dish of the day. My family and I really enjoyed our brunch today. The staff is really friendly as always and the Brunch was absolutely phenomenal. We love our eggs Benedict so this is definitely the right place for us. The Benedict sauce was tart and flavorful as it should be. The eggs were medium poached to my liking. I had the Eggs Barduo which had an artichoke cup and spinach underneath all held by an English Muffin. Highly recommend this one. My mom has the regular eggs Benedict which has no veggies and instead comes with Canadian bacon. My dad got the Eggs Oscar which has crabmeat instead of the Canadian bacon. Found this cute place by accident and really enjoyed the ambiance and the food. We were so hungry we didn't take and pics of the food. Had the basket of thinly sliced onion rings and they were delish. For entrees we had the wedge salad with blackened mahi mahi and the grilled fish tacos. Both were good and I even took one taco home as leftover and it held up well when I reheated it the following day for lunch. The best part was the lovely water view from the outside patio. read more

Holy moly this was amazing! Eat here! We found this place on our last day here and we're so bummed we didn't find it sooner. We sat at the bar and the barender was so busy, but she was also very kind and patient. A manager helped to take our order and suggested two dishes that we simply could not imagine tasting any better! The atmosphere was also really nice with indoor and outdoor seating. REALLY GOOD!!! My entree was coconut shrimp and slaw ..... both created in house .... And OH MY GOD..... best coconut shrimp I've ever had!! The marmalade, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were amazing as well!!!!! I love the fact they create their own dipping sauces!!!!
