We each ordered the combo platter which included mahi mahi, shrimp, conch fritters and your choice of one side. You have the option to have your seafood fried, grilled, or blackened. I have never been here before and my boyfriend has been a few times so he recommended the place. I will have to admit...the food was delicious. We had to start the fish dip, which is amazing by itself. But I knew I needed something else to finish me off. So I ordered shrimp quesadillas and they were delicious. My boyfriend had the Mahi Mahi basket and it was tasty. (I know because he let me have one). I didn't get to order dessert, not sure if it was on the menu or not. But I was so full that I told my boyfriend I probably won't be having dinner tonight. The waitress that tended to us was extremely nice also. The ambiance was pretty good considering it was the afternoon on a Friday no less. But it probably gets crazy busy on weekends. I got the mahi Ruben (mahi mahi, house made coleslaw, 1000 island dressing, and Swiss cheese) with sweet potato fries and it was really good!! I got a little side of bang bang sauce to go with it and it went really well with it! We also got the local special wings (10 wings for $5) and it was 100% worth the $5. I went here with my family and have been here before the food has been ok, but this time it was a another scenario. To start the server was nice and fine but the food was horrible. they seriously need to fire their cooks. i ordered a cesar salad with chicken and it had zero taste pretty hard to mess that up right. then my poor mother got a salad with grouper on it and the first bite she took she tasted SOAP dish soap and had to spit it out and so she told our server and he took it back to the kitchen to remake it and then her new salad comes out with a head of lettuce in it and if you know anything about cooking in restaurants or even making salad you know the head of the lettuce is not supposed to be in the food. so i would just say the servers are nice people but the cooks are terrible please consider hiring more experienced cooks. read more

Fries were plentiful but under cooked and no flavor. It was to go and I got plenty of plastic silverware but no ketchup or other condiments. I ended up throwing most of the sandwich and fries out. Shipwreck's a little bar located in the Northern tip of Key Largo in a tucked away residential neighborhood. It is the definition of a dive bar with a large outdoor seating area and small interior bar area with a few tables. On this visit we had the Crab stuffed jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and clams chowder. The chowder was very tasty! Creamy, contained a fair amount of clams, and seasoned perfectly! The Onion rings were huge, and battered in a panko crust, then fried to where they were crispy on the outside, and the onion on the inside was still juicy. The crab stuffed jalapeño poppers were also fried well. The crab and cheese filling was gooey and salty, while the jalapeños were fresh. It was served with a sweet Thai chili sauce that added to the overall experience. They had a nice assortment of on-tap beers, and they were served ice cold in a frosted mug. I love the dive bar setting, although as a warning to families, I would not bring my kids here. The staff, though friendly, spent most of my time there yelling profanities at one another between the waiter staff and kitchen. It was clearly playful banter amongst employees and did not offend anyone in the establishment, but not something I would want my young kids to be exposed too. Conch fritters were hot, Mahi Mahi was Luke warm, shrimp were cold. Salad dressing was very good, but it was blue cheese. Overall, food was very good, but fritters tasted like elephant ears. Finished lunch. No sign of the waitress, so I started this review. 10 minutes latter, still no waitress. Never once did she come by, ask how the food was, ask if I still wanted the water I asked for 45 minutes ago, ask if I wanted the check.... Finally got the check, and the review fell to 1 star.
