Seafood combo with side of onion rings.
    Catherine K.

Quiet, tiny and intimate (also outside seating), table seating for maybe 20 and bar seating for another 14. Service was quick, food hot, fresh and fast. The seafood combo came with shrimp, mahi mahi and conch. I had not had conch before so there is nothing to compare it to. It looked like hush puppies, and was chewy. The shrimp were perfect and the fish was fishy. I ordered onion rings for my side and have never seen such large and wonderful rings before. For a $25 lunch, it will bring me back.

A relaxing waterfront spot but it was pretty hot so after waiting at the waterfront tables, we eventually ended up go inside for A/C. Food was good. Service was prompt. You can bring your own catch and get it cooked the way you want(grilled/fried/broiled) and they can do it for you at a reasonable price.

The food and ambience were unbeatable. Literally this is a place that throughout the day a man comes in named Bubba and there is also probably someone named Ethel that has a plastic flamingo in her yard. She stops in to get the latest gossip. There are manatee basking in the sun. Engine oil smell lingers in the air from the boats and the signage!!!!! The decor and "stuff" is perfection. Our server was great too, but at the end she just bailed. We waited 10 minutes for a bill. I could have just walked out. It was so weird. The food was wonderful except the Nachos. They were a 2/10

We stopped here on our way up from Key West headed to Fort Lauderdale at the recommendation of a local we met in Islamorada. This restaurant is off the beaten path, and we came at an off time and it was not busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was nice and attentive. We each ordered the combo platter which included mahi mahi, shrimp, conch fritters and your choice of one side. You have the option to have your seafood fried, grilled, or blackened. I ordered blackened, my mother, grilled. When our meals came out we think they made a mistake and grilled both, oh well. The food was tasty, average portion size where we both ate our whole meal. I got coleslaw which was pretty good and my mom's side was potato salad. They have Happy hour Monday to Friday 4-6pm. .

We had the the Mahi Rebuen and the Shrimp quesadillas and both were amazing. Peggy and Melonie provided exceptional service!

Pretty chill outdoor place to catch some fresh air and cheap drinks. Food menu looks ok. We had good service today. I got champagne $7.28 which was nice and dry. Husband got a 24 Oz beer $6.24. Drinks were nice and cold. They have a happy hour with super cheap drinks $1, 2-4 each. Patty was an amazing friendly server. Lovely patio with the house cat Rex who was soooo cute. Little gray striped cat.

Hole in the wall on upper Key Largo. Food was very good as we did an appetizer lunch with fried asparagus, fish dip & mahi quesadillas with ice cold Miller Lite drafts! We ate outside under the tiki hut which is on a waterway canal. Very Keyish from the ambience standpoint . From an FYI standpoint the inside seating is very limited with about 6 - 7 tables. The outside has two pavilions with a lot of seating available. Our server was attentive and made sure we had what we needed and brought our food & beverages quickly. If looking for a spot to hang check this place out!

The atmosphere and vibe were fantastic! The waitress was very friendly and efficient. My husband got the seafood combo plate ($25, a selection of mahi, shrimp and conch fritters, with a side of fries) and I got the Crab Cakes with fries ($22). Happy hour food prices were incredibly reasonable. Dessert was available but we were too full to partake.

    My shrimp quesadillas...so yummy

I have never been here before and my boyfriend has been a few times so he recommended the place. I will have to admit...the food was delicious. We had to start the fish dip, which is amazing by itself. But I knew I needed something else to finish me off. So I ordered shrimp quesadillas and they were delicious. My boyfriend had the Mahi Mahi basket and it was tasty. (I know because he let me have one). I didn't get to order dessert, not sure if it was on the menu or not. But I was so full that I told my boyfriend I probably won't be having dinner tonight. The waitress that tended to us was extremely nice also. The ambiance was pretty good considering it was the afternoon on a Friday no less. But it probably gets crazy busy on weekends. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who goes to Key Largo and I'll definitely come back to try something else. Two thumbs up

Heard about this place from a local and decided to try it. I got the mahi Ruben (mahi mahi, house made coleslaw, 1000 island dressing, and Swiss cheese) with sweet potato fries and it was really good!! I got a little side of bang bang sauce to go with it and it went really well with it! We also got the local special wings (10 wings for $5) and it was 100% worth the $5. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful when giving food recommendations ( the ruben was her idea). They are also pet friendly if you are looking for a place to sit down to eat with your animal of choice!

What can I say about Shipwreck's Bar & Grill: The Indoor ambiance is very social during peak hours with a Keys style bar atmosphere. The outdoor ambiance is nice during all parts or the day. Very friendly staff and locals who love to socialize!. Now to the Meal: Out of all the Appetizers I will suggest that you order the Crispy Pork Spare Ribs!!!! They are so good and perfectly crisp. I Really Enjoy the Grouper Picatta with Garlic Rissoto. The Rissoto and Grouper were actually cooked very well, I have had many in the Keys but no complaints here. There is Small Wine selection but the wine was very well paired with the meal and there is a wide variety of beers and specials. To the desserts: Now.....! The Key Lime Pie was my favorite dessert,it was mildly tart and semi sweet which the staple of it's texture. Coming in 2nd is the Shipwreck Cannon Balls ( Ice Cream Stuffed Pastry dipped in a light chocolate sauce and a drizzle of strawberry puree) the Brownie Served with Ice Cream was good. The Servers were very Attentive and polite, even with a 20 person Party, my glass was always topped off. I can say that I will return again. Keep up the good work! Will return soon! They have covered motorcycle parking! Nice place for a chill lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice views and attentive staff. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about.

Terrible Keys service with a side of FRAUD Forget the fact that while dining outside I had to get up and go to the bar inside to get drinks. Forget the fact that the waitress was hanging out chitchatting at the bar when I had to go inside twice to get my drinks Forget the fact that they allow patrons to listen to their cell phones on blast without a care (personal pet peeve) What really got me was the fact that the waitress who was absent and inattentive decided to double my tip amount when she ran the credit card. This is not a simple, honest mistake. I've seen it here in the keys a couple times. That's why I began taking pictures of my receipts. Avoid at all costs. UPDATE: after speaking with "the owner" he assured me this was an isolated incident and that the crap server was a long time employee. Of course she was? The lifers are the entitled arrogant ones with no concept or care of how to do a good job. It was acknowledged that she was "spending a lot of time at the bar with regulars". Again, we won't be back.

Having arrived at 4:30pm, we were immediately shown to a table and informed about the happy hour specials. Not normally ones to drink much on vacation, my wife and I instead opted to live in the moment and enjoy the island life, especially since it was 30 degrees when we left Ohio that morning. As such, we each ordered a rum punch (pictured), while my best friend ordered a Bulliet old fashioned and his wife a house margarita. With drink orders out of the way, Deja, our absolutely delightful waitress, took our food orders: sauteed seafood combo (for my wife), backyard BBQ burger with coleslaw (for me), burger and fries (for my BFF and his wife, who -unlike us- were smart enough to save room for dessert). While waiting for our meals, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant, and wow was there a lot to take in! First off, we loved how the old Pizza Hut building had been repurposed and transformed into the embodiment of the tropical island lifestyle. From the display tables showcasing seashells and historic Florida Keys photos, to the license plate light fixtures, to the ceiling-mounted blue sky and clouds panels, to the fish hanging in front of each distinctively Pizza Hut trapezoidal window, we loved it all! When our food arrived, it looked fantastic and tasted even better. My wife described her seafood combo as being excellent, with the Caribbean lobster "almost as good as the ones we get in Maine." Likewise, her fish was fresh and delicious, while the shrimp were succulent. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was topped with expertly caramelized onions and bacon with just the right amount of crispness to it. My coleslaw side was also excellent, with the perfect balance of creaminess and zing. Our friends also said their burger and shoestring fries were fantastic. To round out our meal, each of the four of us ordered pieces of Key Lime Pie, which was some of the best I have ever had in my life (and I have eaten a lot of Key Lime Pies!)! Throughout our meal, Deja checked on us often without being overbearing, and kept the drinks flowing. All told, for 5 drinks, 3 entrées with sides, and 4 slices of Key Lime Pie, our bill before tax, tip, and credit card surcharge was $163.93. Considering the excellent food and outstanding service we received, the four of us universally agreed it was well worth the price! Pros: outstanding service, fantastic flavours, great atmosphere, and the 2-for-1 drinks during happy hour were a great deal! Cons: none! Overall we rate Mrs. Mac's Kitchen as being Excellent and cannot wait to go back!

Not like, they didn't wipe it down, but more like it had never seen a deep clean and stuff just kept accumulating. I had the shrimp and corn chowder. It was very watery. We enjoyed the desserts. I'm not sure if I would come back though. I'm just wondering if the whole restaurant is dirty like our table.

This is one of those spots that immediately tells you it's a local favorite the second you walk in. It feels homey, lived in, and deeply rooted in the community. The average crowd definitely skews older, which honestly just shows how loyal the regulars are and how long this place has been doing something right. We stood for a minute or two when we arrived, which wasn't a problem at all, but the initial interaction felt a little abrupt. Nothing hostile, just very direct and urgent. We later found out that Cathy is the owner, and it became clear very quickly that this place is her whole world. She works hard, moves fast, and runs on urgency. That energy can sometimes come off sharp, especially to visitors who aren't used to that local, no frills style, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. There were moments throughout our visit where the tone felt a little rough around the edges, and it wasn't just with us, we noticed it with other tables too. It didn't feel personal, more like someone who is stretched thin and running on fumes. To her credit, there were moments where she self corrected, and I genuinely believe this was just a long day rather than bad intentions. Running a place like this day in and day out is not easy, and you can feel how much effort goes into keeping it moving. This review isn't meant to tear anyone down, just to be honest for future guests so they know what to expect walking in. What truly changed our entire experience and pushed this from a four star visit to a solid five was our server. Her name started with a T, she wore glasses, and she was African American, and she was an absolute blessing. She treated us with warmth, patience, and genuine care, like we were family she was looking out for. When we sat down and the table needed to be wiped, she handled it gracefully without a single awkward moment. Everything she did felt intentional and kind. She was attentive without hovering, respectful, and genuinely happy to be doing her job. There was also a sweet older Latina woman clearing tables who was just as lovely and welcoming. It became very clear that despite the different personalities, this place functions as a team, and the heart of High Tide lives in the people who treat guests with care and humanity. If you get that server whose name starts with a T, you are in excellent hands. Now let's talk about the food, because this is where High Tide really shines. The hash brown casserole is a straight ten out of ten. No exaggeration. Comfort food perfection. Crispy, savory, and absolutely worth ordering. The country style platter we ordered was also a ten according to my friend, hearty and satisfying in the best way. The lobster benedict was good, I would give it about an eight. It's a fun, unique option if you want to try something different, but not the standout compared to the rest of the menu. And then there's the real star of the show, the Key lime pie. Even if you are not hungry, come for the pie. This is hands down the best Key lime pie I have ever had. Perfectly balanced, not overly tart, smooth and almost cheesecake like in texture. It's the kind of dessert that makes you pause after the first bite because it's that good. Beautifully presented too. The decor is charming and thoughtfully cluttered in a way that feels authentic, not staged. The bathrooms are old but very clean. Parking is a little quirky but manageable, and there is parking available if you're patient. Overall, the vibe is cozy, memorable, and unmistakably local. Would I come back? Absolutely, especially for the food and that pie. Cathy, you are clearly working your ass off, and I hope this was just a rough day. This review comes with honesty and flowers, not shade. Five stars for the food, the heart, and the people who make this place what it is. I do recommend it.

I was disappointed though because the "hash browns" on the side were not the homemade kind, but a frozen deep fried cake. I was also disappointed to find that the "lobster" was actually a breaded deep fried mixture, like a crab cake. I intentionally did not order the crab cake Benedict because I don't like that kind of thing. My daughter ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and Swiss cheese. It was good, and pretty big, so she could barely eat half of it. There is a nice view of the water from the restaurant. The parking lot is pretty small. Unfortunately, good service can't make up for prices that are completely out of touch with reality. I came here expecting fresh local seafood, not sticker shock. We spent nearly $100 for two people, one appetizer, and absolutely no alcoholic beverages. That's outrageous for what we received. The Snapper Fish & Chips was especially disappointing. Over $40 for a fish-and-chips basket is ridiculous, regardless of what type of fish is being used. It's not as if you're serving a massive portion of fish. The sautéed snapper tasted better, but even that dish felt overpriced, especially when it's being served with rice and beans. What makes it even harder to understand is that this is the Florida Keys, surrounded by water and known for seafood. Yet the menu prices make it feel like the fish was flown in from another continent. The quality simply doesn't justify the cost. I don't mind paying premium prices for an exceptional meal. What I do mind is paying premium prices for average portions and ordinary food. Fish House has friendly employees and fast service, but those positives aren't enough to overcome the absurd pricing. There are too many other restaurants in the Keys offering better value. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced seafood meal.
