It's a fairly nice place with good service, and you will enjoy your meal as long as you order basic items such as burgers, tacos and calamari. The pasta dishes are not very good and I have, unfortunately, tried most of them with no success. It also puts a surcharge on the bill for anyone (which is almost everyone) who pays with a credit card. I always forget about this and then forced to send my receipt to AmEx to receive a credit for the improper surcharge. read more

I've been wanting to visit Buzzard's Roost for a while now. It goes without saying that it did not disappoint! The fact that the first Mimosa is on the house if you order from the Sunday brunch is a great start. We ordered the eggs Oscar and they were amazing! My husband requested his poached eggs well cooked and they were perfect! Our server went above and beyond to make our first time experience a positive one. We sat in the covered porch area and the fans made the hot weather so much more pleasant. The view was amazing! The live Caribbean music was a great touch. Like I said at the beginning, Buzzard's Roost did not disappoint and we will be returning on our next trip to Key Largo or even for a drive from Miami for their outstanding brunch! read more

I saw this restaurant on line when looking for a place to have lunch on Saturday in Key Largo. I'm so glad we went! The outdoor seating is really nice, a view of the water and the boats. We got to enjoy a family of manatees drinking fresh water and snacking on lettuce. The kids loved it. The food was terrific. We had fresh oysters (at a great price!), crab cakes (our favorite) and conch fritters for appetizers. All delicious. I had fried grouper for my meal and it was delicious! The drinks were good, typical keys cocktails with rum, piña colada, margarita, etc. Unfortunately we didn't get to try dessert, had too much good food. I look forward to visiting again! Are you looking for brunch in Key Largo? This was our third trip to Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo in the last few years and we love Buzzard's Sunday brunch when we have a chance to enjoy it. They also offer their full lunch menu if you are not a brunch person. Lots of choices. I will say the drinks are weak but the food is strong. We started with a 1/2 pound of boiled shrimp and they were okay, not great. Next up hubby had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and thought it was really good. I had the huevos rancheros (which I love when places can make them without meat). I did ask for the ranchero sauce on the side, as I hate onions, and wanted to pick around those. I added the breakfast potatoes to my dish. All in all very good. You can choose from outdoor on the canal seats or inside dining room. The view was peaceful overlooking the canal water with tiki torches and marina boats. Tried the Seafood combo and Grouper Seminole-both yum. I did a Google search to find a restaurant serving key lime pie, in Key Largo. My wife asked me to find two slices to bring home in Miami. I entered the bar and I ordered the pie. To say this pie is great is an understatement. It was not too heavy, not too light, not too sweet, not too tart. Very smooth and creamy. Heading back home as one does many a Sundays. We normally stop at Blackwater Siren which is our go to but wanted to venture out. SO glad we did. Found this spot on Yelp and asked the bartender at Caribbean Club if it was good. His response "yeah, Pit-bull eats there"...not the response I was looking for but went anyway. It was an hour before close so it was easy seating. We decided to sit outside with a great view of the boat canal during sunset. Highly recommend if you can. Server was fast and attentive. Ended up stating with the potato skins (get them, they are in house made and diff from what you are used to) and then ordered the ribs and the chicken special for dinner. Both were so good! I could have eaten the Skins as my entree, that's how good it was. However I needed to save room for dinner. Dinner did not disappoint the sauces on both dishes were on point. The perfect post- dive lunch experience. We arrived around 1PM and were seated almost immediately. There were plenty of other diners, but the outside dining felt very safe and properly distanced. Our seat overlooked the dock, and right when we got there we spotted a large manatee soaking in the sun in the canal! It was an amazing surprise, as we had been wanting to see one for a long time. Our server was prompt, helpful, and courteous. My crispy mahi wrap was one of the best wraps I have ever had. The fish was amble, with just enough crispy breading to give it a good crunch without making the wrap too heavy or bready. Likewise, the tartar sauce was creamy but light, and the tomato and lettuce were bright and fresh. The tomato-basil tortilla it was wrapped in was thin and let the other ingredients shine through. My wife liked her caprese sandwich. I had the cole slaw and she had the fries for sides, which were included in the price of our entrees. The value was great, we ate for $25 after tax. We didn't feel rushed even though we took a lot of breaks from our food to look at the manatees and other wildlife (fish, pelicans, iguana). Overall I would definitely eat here again if I ever come back to the Keys. read more

The food was good but that is the easy part. Like most places, they struggle at knowing how to treat customers. Greg (his friends call him Buddy) said my tiny iPhone speaker was too loud in the crowded bar and told me to turn it off. I asked him to turn on the closed caption on at least one of the two TVs and he aptly refused and walked away. One elderly waitress was trash talking a customer because he asked for a different table than the one he was seated at. She refused to wait on this customer and told the younger waiter nearby that he would be taking that table. The bartender was way overworked. Overall the setting was nice. There is some outdoor seating by the canal which is covered and has fans. Water wasn't the prettiest but still nice to sit and have a drink and some food. Service was good, fast and friendly. The food however is the reason why my rating is just mediocre. Compared to many other places around Key Largo, the food here was lacking. The side portions were smaller than most other places, the fried Mahi was 4 small pieces that tasted just ok, very bland, no seasoning. The fish dip portion was also very small compared to most other places in the area. The drinks were strong but sadly the top shelf didn't taste like top shelf. All in all, with the variety of similar restaurants to choose from, I won't be coming back to Buzzards. read more
