Hannah made our experience here absolutely fantastic!!! She was so attentive and so so sweet. Someone in our party had to send something back to be fixed and she was on top of it in an instant! 100% wouldn't recommend. So disappointing the crab boil was completely overcooked the crab legs would barely come out of the shell , the shrimp were like rubber and the sausage was hard and dry the Potato's were ice cold and mushy . They don't offer free refills even on sweet tea. The whole place is overpriced for what you get or don't get . The service wasn't good (Andrew ) definitely wasn't having a good night . Trish was my server. Very sweet women, did not under serve and did not over serve. 5 stars for her. The portion of the food was great! Only thing is - the food was kind of hard to eat due to lack of seasoning. The best way to describe how it tasted is like this : everything is boiled in water then a dry seasoning goes on top of everything and that's it. First time in NC I was hoping more of their seafood - especially here on the beach. Paid a total of $49.06 for the buzz boil and a bottle water. Sitting out on the patio was nice as well! Do not recommend, we used to love this spot but not after today! They upcharging for onion rings b/c they were running out of fries without notice, getting our orders wrong, not keeping drinks filled, and 2 meals returned. We decided a tip was not in this servers future. When we went to leave the server came after us telling us not to return! She gather with 2 men and decided to stare us down before she flipped us off! One of the restaurants on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk that I hadn't tried yet, I went to Buzz's Roost for lunch. It was a nice night place to get out of the sun for a bit during lunch. I was there just before the summer season started, so it wasn't super busy. I walked in and it was a seat yourself kind of day. I was waited on and ordered their fried shrimp platter (it came with fries and cole slaw). My food arrived in a timely fashion. While it wasn't the worlds greatest food, it was good (I am SUPER picky about cole slaw too). I just remember it being more food than I could eat! Looking forward to trying Buzz's again! read more

Seat yourself kind of a restaurant. Service wasn't the quickest but server checked in regularly. Strongest margarita ever, did not finish. Nachos and grouper bites were really good. Came here hoping for a tolerable seafood experience. My wife and I ordered the large seafood boil platter-- advertised as ''Four Lbs. of Food!!" It wasn't. It barely fed the two of us. It was a net bag of frozen seafood they over- boiled that had 4 crab clusters, about 6 crawfish, maybe 8 shrimp, a handfull of steamer clams, a *single* ear of corn and a watery mess that was supposed to be boiled potatoes, but appeared diced and then boiled. For the Price-Point, Michael's Seafood (also at CB, but not on the boardwalk) has a much better platter with fresh local seafood, at a comparable price. I won't go back here again. read more

I was really impressed with this new restaurant that was right on the strip. We were looking for something close and relatively family-friendly for 4 kids - not to mention a place with drink specials for the adults in our party. Lucky for us they had half off pretty much the entire bar which seems crazy to me but was also pretty awesome. The server suggested a signature cocktail that he had made and it was delicious. The seafood was fresh and portions were large - I'm not sure you could go wrong in ordering. The servers were friendly and while I can't comment on the cleanliness of the bathrooms, overall it was a really fun beach scene. We did some rides and ice cream afterwards with the kids and it was a perfect little evening after a day at the beach. read more

we went here last night for dinner with 4 people and we are very disappointed. 1st you sit yourself and wait for a server. after 15 minutes of waiting, when you are finally acknowledged you get a "be there in a few" it was not a few... no refills on any drinks, and if you want water it will be bottled. we ordered 2 buckets of seafood for 4 people and we received 2 forks and 2 bibs. The crab was so over cooked we couldn't get it out of the shell. shrimp were like rubber and potatoes were ice cold. sausage was hard and dry. And after we communicated to our server Andrew that this was ridiculous he did not speak to us or check on us for the rest of the night. So far I am not impressed with the food, and whats up with brand new place having crappy A/C? Came out last week for a quick bite and some beers, and I was literally sweating while trying to eat my salty prime rib sliders. I could feel myself dehydrating as I ate my food. My buddy had the grouper sandwich, which he didn't like or dislike. Very bland he said. Prices are decent, the beer is cold, staff is friendly and the place is clean. Relaxed atmosphere right on the boardwalk with the best fish tacos around. My family and I had lunch at Buzz's on Thursday August 16. We had wings, crab balls and fried pickles. Awesome, but the real stars of the meal were the Blackened Mako Shark and Ahi Tuna tacos. So fresh and delicious. In addition, Jamie our server was so attentive and accommodating. I love fish sandwiches., so it was no surprise that I ordered a grouper sandwich when eating here recently. I can say that it was one of the best grouper sandwiches I've ever had, and I ordered it fried as I do most fish. The portion of the grouper overhung my bun on both sides . I like that there was no oiliness about it. The fries were very tasty also. Done perfectly in my opinion. My son and husband, who had fish tacos, both agreed theirs were very good. If I'm ever in the mood for a fish sandwich again, this is where I will go for it. I've had fish sandwiches at other places and did not enjoy them as much, either because they were a small size, or to oily. Great food on the boardwalk. Old school beach bar/restaurant, nothing fancy but great meals. We had Tacos, Peel and Eat Shrimp and kids hamburger. The one funny thing that happened, and it's funny because it happened last summer, I ordered a hazy ipa on draft and they brought out the wrong beer. Last year it was maybe a Yuengling. This year it was some pink/raspberry fruit beer. Not even close. Not sure how the bartender doesn't notice the difference. Oh, and the draft beers are really warm. Stick to bottled. read more

We visited Carolina beach for the first time this past weekend and it was amazing! Buzz's Roost was awesome! It is located right along the boardwalk backing up to the beach so it was a perfect back drop for a relaxed lunch. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming-he was very laid back also which made it a great experience. They have both an outdoor seating area and indoor seating area. We didn't spend the night, but if we did, it looked like Buzz's would be a great night time spot as well. They have daily drink specials that the bartender makes each day which is nice-it's always frustrating when it's the same specials each day especially when you don't enjoy those specific drinks! We got a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and the shrimp tacos with fries. Both meals were huge and well worth the money! The shrimp tasted so fresh which made sense because they get it locally! And you can never go wrong with crispy fries! The menu was pretty extensive and offered items for everyone's taste. We plan on making a trip back to Carolina Beach next summer and we will definitely be back to Buzz's Roost, can't wait! read more

Came here for lunch on Monday afternoon. Service was great (Logan), the person in charge (manager, owner?) came out to ask how the food was. The food was fresh, nice sized portions. The Shrimp tacos were recommended, but we went against the grain and decided on Grouper tacos. And they were delicious! They also have Wahoo, Monkfish, Catfish, Swordfish, Mako, and Marlin when available because it's fresh fish. Regardless, not sure how it is around dinner in terms of wait etc. But, I would definitely recommend. Also, if you like t-shirts from bars / restaurants they sell Buzz's Roost shirts. read more
