I like the fact that the tacos are a good size! It's usually not that busy at 10ish and the people are generally nice. They do give one sauce per taco though but that's alright with me. I'm glad I got an off day to be able to come back! My favorite is always the pastor tacos.

They also offer barbacoa if that's your type of breakfast and also offer a lunch menu (which ends at 2pm I believe and they close up).

We were also informed that they stop serving food at 9:30, so pretty much to order soon. Needless to say I was so disappointed and ready to leave. But it being so late, sucked it up. Came here for the sword fish that apparently they no longer serve as their menu had changed. After ordering, I did voice my concerns about the loud music and thankfully they changed it. I was able to enjoy my late night dinner with my husband. We ordered the Kataifi shrimp as an appetizer. They were medium sized served with a spicy tangy sauce. They were very delicious. For my main course I ordered the American red snapper which was also a unique dish as it was served on a corn husk with rice and beans. 3 whole crawfish, a corn and cold salsa verde sauce on the side of the dish. All was delicious except they should have served the salsa verde sauce warm instead of cold. It was still a delicious dish. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak which was also delicious. It was served with a side of green beans, puréed potatoes with a foie gras gravy. They have a descent drink menu. I ordered the Friendswood 75 which was a little too sweet for my liking and my husband ordered the Gin and tonic. They didn't have Sapphire so he opted for the Tanqueray. Overall, our meal was delicious and our server Sandy was nice.

The place was packed and there was a line of people waiting - I knew that was a good sign! The line moved fast and the staff were like worker bees - everybody getting the tables cleaned, people seated and orders taken with in minutes of sitting down. Mary the Manager never missed a beat - she was making it all happen and made it look effortless - with a smile on her face. Our server SAL was top notch, explained everything on the menu that I drilled him about - really painted a picture of what the items was all about, helped me with making a selection! Give that kid a Gold Star - he is my server for life at Red OAK. He took care of us with a smile and quick service, what a shining star they got when they hired him! Now for the food - mercy is all I can say - the biscuits were out of this world - flaky, fluffy and fabulous! I got the Breakfast special and everything on the plate was perfect - the bacon was nice and crisp, hash browns were golden and egg really over easy - cooked to perfection. THE Pancakes - eyes rolling back in head - the biggest, fluffy golden brown things you have every seen and the syrup came in a glass carafe that warm syrup was an extra special touch. The coffee was their own brand and the flavors were Pecan and Cinnamon, very smooth, and very hot and refilled often. Do yourself a favor and go to Red Oak Cafe in League City on Main Street and ask for Sal and get ready for a great expericence and excellent food and service! I live in Woodlands Tx and will drive 60 miles again to eat at this place!

We were not expecting the food to be as good as it was because we chose this location because of its proximity to our home, the price was very reasonable and the reviews were a 3.8. Had the reviews been a 3.4 and lower we would've probably kept looking. I ordered a waffle combo and I had 2 sausage patties and 3 over medium eggs and they were able to accommodate me with sugar free syrup that was really good. My wife had the twice over (I may have the name wrong) but it was ham, 2 sausage patties, 2 over medium eggs, and toast with sliced tomatoes. Our food was amazingly delicious given the low price, the smallness of the restaurant, and the lack of a more welcoming vibe, not the service but the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it was chill but in a weird kind of half warming way if that makes sense. In a nutshell, I would still recommend this place and will go back. Enjoy!

It is located in a strip of businesses and parking plentiful even with a peak breakfast crowd. This location is one of three located south of Houston. The restaurant itself isn't very big so tables are pretty close together. They also have bar seating if you're eating solo, but no alcohol as far as I could tell. Customer service was ok. Our guy was friendly but there were things left off the order and we had to repeat requests a few times. I started off with coffee. I like that they creamer choices at the table that was also stocked really well. The menu is pretty extensive and there is something to please everyone here. They have a whole page showing they can make your eggs in every which way. They truly did cover all the bases as far as having every variety of breakfast you can think of. This place stays open until 2 so they also have a page of lunch options as well. My family got a variety of different things and not one complaint was heard. I went for something a little different called the Eagle's Nest. It's basically a scramble. It had diced ham, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions and tomatoes scrambled with eggs, hash browns and topped with cheese and white gravy. I specifically asked for sausage gravy as an upgrade but didn't get it. I wasn't about to waste food so I kept it. I think sausage gravy would have made this dish elite. The regular white gravy had to be doctored up with a little more salt and a lot more black pepper. I love a mish mash of food all in one bite so this dish was good once I added my little flair. It came with a side of your choice of bread and I went with sourdough. It was weird that they serve the bread dry and toasted and do not even offer butter unless asked. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here. The minor misses pale in comparison to the good. I would most definitely come back if in the area as this immediate stretch of 518 doesn't have alot of unique options like Pelican.

We had the cutest bartender and my hubby was impressed with how she made his Old-fashion. So much so, he ordered two. Ambiance is coastal themed. The food was okay nothing really stood out. I tried the brown butter scallops, and they just tasted like oily scallops. Not too much flavor, but they were cooked nicely. I also tried their avocado tuna taco, and those were a bit weird. The flavors and texture weren't it for me. The inside was kind of mushy, but it did have a hint of yuzu sauce, which made it tolerable. Next, I tried the gumbo with cornbread, and the cornbread with the gumbo was a game changer. It definitely kicked it up a notch. The gumbo didn't have very strong flavors like other gumbos, but I still enjoyed it. Then I tried the fish and chips. The fish was cooked crispy to my liking, and the portion size was decent. However, the fries were a bit too hard and tasted a little stale. The oysters were the last thing I tried and they were pretty decent my favorite was the easy coasts ones. My only complaint with them were the shell some pieces of shell ended up in the meat portion. The service was great too and they have happy hour.

The ambiance was nice as we walked in, and after being quickly seated next to a window, the atmosphere was nice. They did end up covering the window before we started eating, and the little bulb way above us and candle did not really provide light enough for us to eat (I get it is mood lighting, but I like seeing what I eat). The food was really solid, though. A few times I've been in the past it was all too salty, but this time around it was much better. I got the Farm Bird, and it was very juicy and had a very nice crunch. The Fish and Chips were nice and flaky, while the Pork Chop was extremely juicy and rich. The shrimp in the rigatoni was definitely oversalted, as well as the broccolini greens in the pork chop dish. The appetizers we got (Brussels Sprouts and Spinach Artichoke Dip) were both okay, though I prefer garlic bread to the chip for the dip and the sprouts were a little one note. The whiskey cake itself was very good, though I recommend only one plate for a group of 6 or less because of how rich it is, especially if you get the ice cream addition. Overall a very surprising experience, and while it carries a heavy price tag, it is absolutely a good choice if you're looking for a nicer meal out here.

We can literally sit there for hours talking while our youngest plays in the play area. The lattes are really good, and my daughter loves the hot chocolate. The pastries and treats are a little hit or miss. The almond croissant is definitely the winner and probably my favorite thing we've tried. My middle daughter really likes the brownie. She did say she thinks there may be cinnamon or something else added to the chocolate muffin because there was a flavor in it that threw her off a little. The pecan cinnamon roll was pretty good. The blueberry scone, though, tasted like it had maybe been frozen too long? I'm not completely sure, but there was just something about the taste and texture that was a little off. The savory items are good, but I do think they need to work on reheating them. The chorizo empanada had really good flavor, but the outside dough was still soggy because it wasn't heated long enough. It needed more time to crisp up. The same thing happened with the ham and cheese croissant. The bottom was very soggy, and it was only slightly warm throughout. One thing I really hope First Cup considers adding is nutritional information for their menu items. On our last visit, my 15 year old son came with us and wanted to try some things. He has Type 1 Diabetes, and having nutritional information, especially carbohydrate counts, is extremely important because we have to calculate his insulin based on what he eats. The staff did not have this information available or know where to find it. I know nutritional information is not required for every business, but for families like ours, it's not just a preference. Managing Type 1 Diabetes means constantly making calculations to keep my son safe. Without accurate information, we are left guessing, and guessing with insulin can mean his blood sugar goes too high or too low. As a mom, it's hard enough managing all of the daily decisions that come with T1D. My son should be able to go out with his family, try new foods, and enjoy a normal experience without us having to wonder if we are making the right choice for his health. Having this information available would make a huge difference, not only for people with diabetes but also for customers with allergies or other dietary needs. Even with these concerns, we really do love the feel of First Cup. It's a welcoming place with a great atmosphere, and we will continue coming back. I just hope they consider improving the reheating process and adding nutritional information because those changes would make an already great place even better.
