This building has seen a few owners over the years, but I hope the current restaurant Tacos Toreados will be around for awhile. Visiting here was a very random stop for me. The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu. read more

Tacos toreados are what happen when someone confuses burnt with bold. They're basically tortillas that got mugged in a vat of oil, slapped with meat that's been fried until all personality died, and then bullied by salsa so aggressive it's clearly compensating for how dry everything else is. The tortillas? Greasy enough to leave fingerprints on your soul. Crispy on the outside, sure--but in that "I've been sitting under a heat lamp questioning my life choices" way. One bite and oil drips like it's trying to escape the crime scene. The meat is usually overcooked to the point where chewing feels like a personal challenge. Any natural flavor is gone, replaced with "salt + fry + regret." And don't get me started on the salsa: nuclear-level spicy, not because it's nuanced, but because pain is the only thing left to feel. Tacos toreados aren't about balance, craft, or love. They're about chaos. They're the taco equivalent of yelling "¡ÁMONOS!" and making bad decisions at 2 a.m. Delicious? Sometimes. Refined? Never. They exist purely to punish sobriety and reward drunk confidence. Still gonna eat them? Yeah. Proud of it? Absolutely not. read more

Food was ok. Servers were ready to go home an hour early and made sure that all the customers who waked in after 9pm knew it. We arrived just after 9. The 2 ladies didn't want to seat us at first, told us they close at 10, took our drink orders, came back to take our orders which we were ready and ordered quickly. We did ask for one sub of French fries instead of rice and beans on the kids plate. The fried didn't come out, but we didn't say anything. Chips and homemade salsa were good. Food came out pretty quick and we ate as fast as we could, paying and out the door by 9:50. All customers who came in after 9:25 were told they could only do to-go orders. What was absolutely awful - the ladies cleaning the floor with extra concentrated fabuloso right after we got our food. Ruined appetite and we probably won't be back because of these two servers. read more

This place claims to cook their beef fajita tacos in charcoal "tacos al carbon" but unfortunately this is false, instead the meat is cooked in oil. Very low quality grade ingredients.... Ordered a queso and I was served canned melted nacho cheese and the bottles they bring the salsa are pretty much empty and not very clean. read more

Had the beef tacos al carbon, beef was not tender and to be honest I don't think beef was fajita. It was was pretty dry. This is the third time we tried this place and sad to say never coming back. The beans and rice was probably the best tasting on my plate. read more

Fajita Asada was flavorful but TOUGH and CHEWY. Barbacoa Enchiladas were dry, shredded beef with a red sauce. Very POOR BARBACOA!!!!! Rice and Beans were average at best. Service was average for lunch time. Ambiance was average at best. Adding a useless SURCHARGE with no explanation was ridiculous! Great food, great service not much more you can ask for in a Mexican restaurant! Their fajita/carne meat is amazing, nice char and well seasoned. Can't be beat! Specials are a nice thing as it seems like they change daily. The service there is so friendly and they really try hard to make sure you are taken care of. Awesome hole in the wall with bomb salsas. Food is fresh and tortillas are homemade. It was worth the drive.

The place is very clean and looks great. Staff is nice as well. My reasoning for the lower rating is because the rice and beans don't were not my favorite, I usually can tell if I'll like a place based on how the rice taste and it just wasn't seasoned enough for my liking. I have to add the same sentiment for the "salsa" they bring with the chips, entirely not spicy enough or flavorful. Regarding the green sauce that one is perfect for adding to the meal but for the chips it's a little too much spice just on the chips alone. More suited for tacos, or the other main meals. The fajita meat was flavored and the best thing from here, although the quesadillas were dripping a lot of grease and a little light on the cheese. But here's where things went downhill: We came back the next morning for breakfast (we were the only ones in the restaurant), and everything was off. The coffee was cold, the food took forever, and when it finally arrived, it was cold too. I ordered the migas plate, expecting it to come with onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños -- like a proper migas plate should -- but it came completely plain. The pancakes were ice cold, and the butter wouldn't even melt. Bottom line: I'd highly recommend this spot for lunch -- no complaints there. But I wouldn't come back for breakfast. I ordered the Torta Toreada and an al pastor taco on harina tonight for dinner. Both were on point, and absolutely delicious! The meats were perfectly seasoned, the produce was fresh, and the bread and tortilla were fantastic. Both the salsa rojo and salsa verde were perfect to pair with the meal, and were just pica enough without overpowering the food. The service was friendly, prompt, and professional. This will be my new spot for authentic Mexican food when I'm in Brazoria County, and I highly recommend that you give this place a try. read more

So I gotta say we got the nopalitos and it was two plates for two folks. Now I heard that they serve tacos on Taco Tuesday for the one dollar price range but it's gotta be the small mini tacos ( not all tacos qualify I believe) but be sure to ask the servers if your not sure . I am definitely coming back for Tuesday's to try this out . My family and I are on a budget and I am willing to try it out. They have the Mexican coke and sodas and beers for anyone who loves their michelada drinks . It's a hidden gem and be sure to stop by if your passing thru. First off the food was amazing. We ordered the enchiladas verdes and the torta toreado. enchiladas verdes - perfectly seasoned fajita beef, fresh melted cheese, tangy salsa verde, beans were above average and the rice was fresh and had great flavor. the guacamole was delicious. torta - i didnt take a bite but i was told that it was delicious with layers of flavor. we also ordered our little girl a strawberry shake that was very good. Service was on point and someone proactively checked on us whenever we needed something. Lastly, from where we parked, we had to walk past an open view of the kitchen.
