Taco Saladsalad
Farrah R.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Family-friendly Tex mex![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has plenty of options. Food was pretty good. I had the ribeye steak tacos which were great! My husband got the taco salad which was ok...wish it had more flavor and spice. The wait time can take a while though so would recommend planning ahead for that. Overall good pick for family night.

The avocado salsa is the best!

Gringo's was really busy on a Friday around 12:30 pm but we were greeted and seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was bright and nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. The green avocado salsa is so good! My husband and I shared the mariachi which came with rice, beans, 2 each of chicken enchiladas, chicken taquitos and southwest egg rolls. The chicken in each item was tender and flavorful. Everything was delicious!

La Bomb-bah burger in all it's glory!

Visited this locale after 10 years while on a business trip back to my beloved Houston. I had to try my favorite burger, the La Bomb-bah burger. It was just as good now as it was then. Absolutely one of the best burgers out there. No wait, despite it being lunch time and the service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated giving it a familial ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend you give Gringo's a try!

I have never ordered the Fish Taco's.... WTH was I thinking??? They are amazing!!! But to add the best charro beans ever "eat your heart out Lupe's Tortilla" and really tasty rice on one side to a fresh cucumber salad on the other side the whole plate is a taste sensation not to be missed!!! We came in for the $5 margs and $7 Cadillac margs and will leaving totally satisfied with the afternoon .., treat yourself today!!!

Amazon Wrap (Steak)

As a Pearland native, I may be biased in saying that Gringo's is the best Tex-Mex restaurant ever, but honestly I couldn't care less because that's exactly what I believe. Even with the huge crowds they get every day of the week, the food remains high-quality, the service stays quick, and the overall dining experiences are consistently satisfying. I think it's admirable that after all these years of coming here since I was a little girl, they've managed to maintain the same level of quality, and if anything, they've only improved. My go-to favorite is the Amazon Wrap with steak. It's always beautifully presented, the steak is perfectly cooked, and the lettuce, tomato, and other toppings keep it light and refreshing instead of heavy. The tortilla strips inside add the perfect crunch to balance what could otherwise be a chewy wrap. I also love drizzling on the complimentary green sauce that comes with the chips or asking for extra Amazon sauce because both pair with the wrap so well. Truly, there is nothing wrong with this dish, and I've successfully put all my friends onto ordering it. While I usually stick to the Amazon Wrap, Gringo's has plenty of other delicious options, including the steak fajitas, the quesadillas, and even a surprisingly good burger. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, Gringo's continues to be a comfort spot for my family and me, and it never fails to deliver.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you want reliable Tex-Mex with great service and consistently good food, this is absolutely the place to go.

Had a good time at Gringos! Living in Pearland, we're always looking for Mexican food. The only issue with some of the restaurants is limited vegetarian food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we got to Gingos we were seated, on a 6:30pm weekday, it was shockingly packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in this very small two seated booth with barely a walkway as there was a huge party with a high chair in the walkway. It was near the restrooms and kitchen![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the frozen margarita with the mango and strawberry and it was huge! Huge and delicious! We then ordered, I got vegetarian enchiladas with the tomato sauce and it came out in a timely manner, however came with the white sauce which the waiter mentioned when he gave me my plate. I was fine with it since the sauce was vegetarian too. The enchiladas were good! Honestly nothing too special, just another Mexican restaurant. Service is average, foods average, etc. they probably do have more meat heavy options that may be better than veggie options.

Friendly staff. Yummy food. Totally hit the spot for Tex-Mex enchiladas cravings. You can never go wrong with ordering any of their items!

Skirt steak fajitas
Stanley S.

One of the most reliable tex mex chains in Houston. It's our long standing tradition for us to go to the original location in Pearland and we have never had a subpar experience. Highly recommend their skirt steak fajitas ( or any dish with steak) which are marinated and super tender. We also recently tried their Al pastor rice bowl and excellent Southwestern eggroll apps. Service is always excellent despite it being super busy on weekends and nights. Don't let the name throw you off the food has tons of flavor and spices and it ain't just for gringos :)

Picking up spot
Elias P.

Pick up picking up in order. The employee recommends the cadillac margarita. The Food smells really good.I went into the place and they had a specific place for pickup, so I had to leave the premises and go around the corner other than that.[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm looks very family oriented a little more upper class. If you want to get a good time classy date or family , this looks cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had not been to this location in 10 years. Met a friend for lunch so she could see my African trip pictures. The food was as great as always. I decided to get something different. I ordered the POLLO MARISCO shrimp & crawfish tails, sautéed to order in creamy white wine sauce atop a grilled chicken breast, cucumber relish. It was totally delicious! Everything was excellent! Ten stars

We went to Gringos for my sisters 16th birthday. We originally wanted to go to Tex Mex restaurant Lupe Tortillas, however the place was closed due to a power outage, and we've heard good things about Gringos so we figured we give it a try. We walked in and were seated immediately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant ambiance was really nice comforting and formal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at a booth and the table was pretty clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter started us off with some drinks but we were ready to order. His name was Anthony and honestly he wasn't really nice and welcoming at first but he kept checking in and keeping our tables clean for the remainder of our dinner. After order maybe 10 minutes later our beef fajitas came. I was really surprised because we didn't get our drinks yet and the queso so we asked the guy who brought oir food out about it and he followed through quickly with the remainder of our order. Now to first start the queso was really cute but it really didn't taste that great. It just reminded me of the plain nacho cheese sauce you get at concessions at sporting events or such. Moving on the fajitas they actually weren't that bad. I was personally comparing them to Lupe's fajitas and these didn't taste as marinated but the meat was still pretty soft and flavorful. They cooked it to about medium well. I was a huge fan of the spanish rice and the refried beans were also ok but still good. I do wish they brought out sour cream with the fajitas. Also the pina colada was pretty good but I wouldn't get it again. Overall the food was ok and I wouldn't come back here unless a group really wanted to go, so in that case I wouldn't mind. But the food wasn't bad just mid. But shoutout to the quick and clean service.

Pineapple margarita, bangin' shrimp tacos with pickled jalapeños, charro beans and cilantro rice on the side
Heather M.

I loved everything about this place. It was my first time at any Gringo's and they set the bar high for the other locations! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor and ambiance were perfectly Tex-Mex.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter, Lucius, was flawless! Just the right amount of attentive, knowledgeable and helpful with the menu items, and genuinely friendly. The food was all fantastic- and that green sauce is one of the best in the area! The portions were generous and prices were fair all around. 5 stars easily.

For fajitas it's tough to find a place that tops Gringos. I'm blessed to live so close to the original and still the best Gringos.

My daughter suggested the lamb meatball and they were absolutely delicious. I wish you got more than two. The brown rice was good. Tried the black lentils for the first time which I like, although they were a little too hard for my taste. I also had what I thought were regular sweet potatoes but once I took a bite I realized they were Japanese sweet potatoes which I love. And the pita chips, wow! Delicious. I got the original and they were so flavorful and crispy. The pita bread that came with my bowl was delicious too. The price was fair for everything I got. I wanted to add some avocados but you know how avocados get when the air hits them and unfortunately makes them unappealing to the eyes. On the service side the staff was pleasant but when I mentioned it was my first visit, I was a disappointed that no one offered to walk me through how everything worked. I didn't want to assume. Nor did they ask what I might enjoy in order to make recommendations. They missed that opportunity. At one point I felt a bit rushed to make my selections even though my husband and I were the only ones in line. A little patience and guidance for first-timers would go a long way.

I'd come back just for that. There's a little outdoor seating area, but I always end up inside. Busy or not, it's totally worth it. Highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere and just off Pearland Pkwy so easy to get to, and we had a pretty nice/helpful waitress to boot. The recipes were generally fine enough, though wouldn't recommend the lentil soup (very odd flavor for a Greek place). BUT. You may have left the restaurant a little hungry before - maybe you were especially famished walking in, or shared a little too much with your family. But have you ever ordered a side of potatoes and gotten...three slices (and a nub, thrown in as an afterthought)? I guess this is for the discerning customer who wanted the side, but not really? Thanks for making that discerning choice for me! Or maybe for someone that wanted that child-sized taster portion of potatoes. Oh but wait! For 5 bucks, you TOO can get "8 oz" of spuds in all its starchy glory. It's a shame - the fry job is done well. But given the midget handful of greens on the Opa bowl, I guess the economy is rough on all of us. Seriously guys, I don't think it used to be this bad guys. Fix your portions or fix your prices, sheesh.

The inside was kind of mushy, but it did have a hint of yuzu sauce, which made it tolerable. Next, I tried the gumbo with cornbread, and the cornbread with the gumbo was a game changer. It definitely kicked it up a notch. The gumbo didn't have very strong flavors like other gumbos, but I still enjoyed it. Then I tried the fish and chips. I can also use Apple Pay through the app. Once ordered, I typically am given a pickup time which is about 20 minutes. When I pick it up at the counter inside, it's always ready and there's no wait. A great user experience. I always order the Smokey Jack Panini (pic attached). First off, we feel like this location needs a bit of a deep cleaning and/or renovation. My husband and I were joking about the "sketchiness of the cleanliness" as we were pulling it. Joking they "toe the line" of "should we eat here or not?" Secondly, I ALWAYS get the salad bar. Always. The items haven't been fresh here. The biggest culprit has been the artichokes. I usually put a big ol' mound on my salad. The last 2x they have been FIZZY... which lends me to believe they are topping off old items with fresh items and it's never getting changed out/is old/fermenting. This particular visit, in addition to the fizzy artichokes, the sliced red bell pepper tasted off and the romaine lettuce was brown. (Sigh). I hope my salad stays down. My husband enjoyed his New York Yankee and luckily, this visit they correctly subbed his chips for "steamed veggies" like he asked. Last visit he asked for "steamed broccoli" and unknowingly the guy rang him up for a cup of broccoli cheese soup for an additional $5... we never went back up to get our money back and my husband didn't eat the soup. The kids always enjoy their meals: usually cheese pizza or pasta with meatballs and marinara. Then they gobble up ungodly amounts of the free ice cream. Today's visit, for whatever reason, the ice cream was extra "soupy" and so runny it couldn't even be put on a cone. The highlight was the girl at the register was friendly. It's getting to be hard to want to come back to this location. Might have to only treat ourselves to Jason's when we're out in Webster.
