    Chicken Del Mar

Amazing service. The entire staff was so very helpful throughout the entire time we were there. Getting sat was quick and the atmosphere was relaxing. The top shell margarita was on point. I could have had some more if I thought I could handle it. Good was exactly wanted I wanted and they had lots of options. Will go back.

    SEAFOOD PAELLA
    Katherine C.

Wow. I came with a large group 4 adults and 4 kids. We didn't have reservations, but we were seated in less than 15 minutes on a Friday night. I had the seafood paella. It was delicious and a large portion. The only part that needed a little more flavor were the scallops. I also had a frozen margarita. It seems like many of their daiquiris were popular. We were served chips and 2 salsas (red and green). The green was my favorite and had more kick than the red. The kids had queso, and I thought it was very good. The kids were very pleased by complimentary ice cream. I had a taste of the ice cream, and it was a creamy vanilla. We will be back!

This place hit the spot! We ordered the burger and the molcajete, and they are highly recommended. The service was great, and the ice cream shop next door topped it off.

    Gross barbacoa tacos
    Laura E.

Maybe Not for breakfast: Biting into this barbacoa taco was so gross. After one bite, which I spit out, I had to see what I was eating. Upon opening the taco, I saw this nasty black intestine looking thing that was surrounded by fat and hardly any of the delicious soft edible meat in it. I defenitely did not eat these. My family had chorizo con huevo tacos and my husband said his was not any better. I read the reviews and thought it was a good place to try out, but should have listened to the one bad review for breakfast. So maybe this place is good, just not for breakfast. But this made me wary to try it for dinner. On a side note: The ambiance was nice and service for pick up was nice.

Second time coming here. Service is wonderful, margaritas and Micheladas are good too. Husband asked if there was menudo (not on menu), there was, it was a Saturday. He said it was the best he's had since his grandmas!! I had the asada with pico and cheese. It was superb. The time before we both had the Birria tacos, and agreed they were our favorite in the area. Happy right now not a lot of folks know about this place, as there's no wait!

Menudo is on point, highly recommend.

The corn tortillas are very crispy and greasy, as expected, and the meat was very tender and cheesy. I enjoy the array of sauces and toppings that are brought out with the tacos. It's Pearland so parking won't be a problem. After perusing the menu, I couldn't say no to the pizzadilla. I'll be back to that in the moment. Service (4.5/5): Pretty much what you hope for. A seamless ordering experience, the food was ready when promised, and no issues arose. One thing I like is that they go above and beyond in providing you with extra limes, and a generous heap of onions, cilantro, and veggies. Ambiance (3/5): Pretty much a standard small Mexican taco joint. Nothing to write home about. Drinks (4.5/5): I love agua frescas and they have them here with 3-4 flavors to choose from. I went with a large pepino (cucumber) agua fresca. Delicious and refreshing. Food (3/5): This is interesting. The pizzadilla sounded amazing. Think of it as a huge quesadilla of sorts, served in a pizza box You can choose your meat. Naturally, I went with the birria which is served with a generous portion of consome. All sounds good, right? Here's where things fell apart. The quesadilla had an overwhelming amount of cheese and an underwhelming amount of birria meat. This is coming from a guy who absolutely loves cheese and feels like it makes anything better. I think this is the first time in my life I'm saying otherwise. There was so much cheese that it overpowered the dish and you could barely taste the birria. Which shouldn't be the case as the meat is the star of the show. Maybe the kitchen made a mistake. Or maybe their ratio is highly off on this dish. Either way, disappointing as I thought this spot would crush it.

I got on the trusty Yelp app and the rest is history. Located in a shopping center, next to a Mexican restaurant and an ice cream shop, parking won't be an issue. Service (3/5): Service isn't really a big part of the experience as you order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. They don't check up on you typically after that. I will say though that sometimes the people working the counter are a little unenthusiastic or clueless as to the promotions that are currently going on. So I have to take things down a notch or two because of that. Ambiance (4/5): This is one of the areas where Daiquiri Express shines. Bright murals cover the walls. Including Frida Kahlo. It's pretty awsome. This is a laid-back spot so don't expect elegance or sophistication. For what it is, they do a good job. Drinks (4.5/5): One of the things that first attracted me to this spot is that they are different than your typical daiquiri spot. Most daiquiri places have Cajun food or no food at all. Here, daiquiris are combined with Mexican toppings like tajin, candy, and more. They also have Mexican beers and margaritas. You have to order the largest size to get a take-home cup and all of the cool toppings but A+ for presentation. There's a good variety of options and they pack a punch. Food (3/5): Having gone here quite a few times, the food can be a hit or a miss. Sometimes it's flavorful and sometimes it's dry and overcooked. There's a lack of consistency. And I've tried a lot on the menu. Tacos, quesadillas, loaded fries, taquitos, etc. The taquitos are dusted with hot Cheetos which makes a fat kid at heart like me excited. Though it was a bit too spicy for my taste. The loaded fries are a generous portion and perhaps my favorite item on the menu I've tried. Another thing I like about Daiquiri Xpress is that they have a rewards program where you'll get things like free agua frescas, tacos, etc., they have a happy hour, and they have daily specials. I'm always a sucker for a deal and I like that they give you multiple opportunities to do so here. I just need a little more consistency in their food.

I wanted to like this place, but my experience here was incredibly disappointing. I know it's a daiquiri place, but it's also a Mexican restaurant. I really wanted a margarita but for some reason, they didn't have any. That basically left beer as the only other alcohol option (we are in Pearland after all). I tried to order a Dos Equis, but they were out of that too! It drives me crazy when you try to order multiple menu items only to be told that they are unavailable. The beer options were mediocre but I finally decided on an Indio. They dressed it with lime and salt and it was actually very good. The street tacos are $2 each on Tuesdays. If you order barbacoa, birria, or beef fajita, it's an extra $1.25. The beer was $2 and happy hour goes until 7 pm. I ordered three tacos; one carnitas and two chicken fajita. The carnitas was okay. The chicken fajita was extremely dry to the point that I didn't even eat the second one. I loved the cilantro and onions, but the toppings with the salsa could only do so much. My friend ate the other chicken fajita taco and he agreed that it was very dry. We sat at a high top table. The bar stools are small and extremely uncomfortable. I ended up standing for the majority of our visit. The restaurant is very colorful and has cool murals. Parking is plentiful. If you sign up for their rewards program, you can get a free dessert. The churros looked good, but I did not try any. The only reason why I'm rating this place 3 stars and not 2 is because everything was so cheap. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu.

The tortillas? Greasy enough to leave fingerprints on your soul. Crispy on the outside, sure--but in that "I've been sitting under a heat lamp questioning my life choices" way. One bite and oil drips like it's trying to escape the crime scene. The meat is usually overcooked to the point where chewing feels like a personal challenge.
