5 pc Garlic Parmesan wings.

When BWB reopened late last year with a name change and new menu, we were psyched. We ordered burgers from them in the past and really enjoyed our meals so for New Year's Eve, we returned for takeout with BWB Shakes. This time, we ordered their Wagyu burger, Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich, 10 piece wings and Oreo shakes to go. Everything we ordered was excellent and our food stayed fresh and hot. To us, the meal was worth the drive to Highland Park. For those familiar with the old menu offerings, you'll notice the recent menu has changed. Some popular items (i.e. The E-I-E-I-O burger which had bacon, cheddar cheese, fried egg and house made Bacon Bourbon jam) were eliminated. I asked the owner about it but fear not! You can still order their classic E-I-E-I-O through online ordering and customize your burger. For a delicious fast casual meal, try them out. It's close to Ravinia where you can grab a quick bite to eat prior to the show. There are few places on my list where I go for burgers and after 3 successful visits, they are one of the best burger shops in town.

So first I was excited to see a burger place next door to Ravinia Brewery because I really wanted a burger with my beer. I walked in to find it's just a fast food to go spot with a couple tables outside. The online menu is way different than the inside menu and the inside menu was out of 50 percent if the menu items. I was one of four customers in my group to order food. i ordered first and 20 minutes later my food was done. I ordered a pub burger medium well and it was dripping with blood - undercooked to say the least and took 20 minutes . The pub burger wasn't even on the inside menu, I only asked for it because I saw it online. i wish the owner well in his endeavors, however I wouldn't recommend this place unless In the area and not many options. Like I said I wanted a Burger to accompany the beer I had a Ravinia brewery.

I didn't know about this place until my wife and I tried it as part of an Elite perk a few nights ago, and I'm glad we did! It's a small place so I almost missed it while looking for it. I only saw two people working, one in front and one in the back, but they were both wearing masks and the guy up front was nice and talking with a few other customers that came up. I got the E-I-E-I-O Burger with hand-cut fries and my wife got the Chicken Shawarma Bowl. I really liked my burger! The patty itself was a little dry and the egg was cooked a little more than I personally like, but it was great when combined with the bacon, cheese, and that amazing Bacon Bourbon jam. The jam may have been my favorite part - sweet but not smothered all over to the point where it's overwhelming. I took a few bites of my wife's Chicken Shawarma Bowl; not enough to give a proper review of it but enough to say I like it and would get it myself next time! I will say that the hand-cut fries, though they had good seasoning, were on the soggier side. But it can't always be helped these days since we can't dine in and get it as fresh as it can be. There are actually a few more things on the menu that I'd like to try (especially the wings) so it's safe to say that we will be back again!

Legally Blue and Bloody Mary from Ravinia Brewing Co.

Original plan was to eat at Ravinia Brewing Co., but we were craving a burger. How great that we sat outside and could order from here or Ravinia Brewing as they share the same kitchen and owner. We got the smash burger just how it comes with grilled onions, pickles and a thousand island like sauce. Omg! Finally a smash burger that is simple yet oh so delicious! I've been so disappointed in smash burgers in our area and I was so delighted with BWB's! It was absolutely delicious! The fries were amazing too; piping hot and very fresh. I wish I took a photo but we scarfed it down very quickly. I had the Legally Blue cocktail from the brewing company and it was very good and refreshing. My dad had a Bloody Mary (both pictured). I highly recommend and I'll be back to try the tacos at Ravinia Brewing.

Hubby and I were on our way to the botanic garden's light show. We stopped at BWB for a quick bite beforehand. We ordered fried pickles. Hubby ordered Buffalo chicken sandwich and I ordered the spicy jalapeño burger. The sandwiches come with chips. We got a beer next door and sat in the tent. I loved my burger. It had great spice and was so juicy. The chips were a nice crunchy break. Hubby liked his chicken. He ordered medium spicy and it was just right for him. The fried pickles were not something we would order again. The batter was too thick for the nicely thin pickle chips. If they lighten up the batter, we might try them again.

We ordered burgers and wings today! Everything was fresh and delicious. I totally miss having these kinds of burgers in a restaurant or patio. The EIEIO burger was 5 stars, even my kids split it and raves about it. The wings were great quality and good sizes! The horseradish dipping sauce was delicious, highly recommend trying it. Not over powering but with a slight flavor. We haven't tried the 6 pack of beer but we are looking forward to that and I'll update my review then. It's right in the heart of Ravinia and has a cute patio even in the winter weather with a tent.

The service was efficient and the dining room has a cozy bistro feel to it. The menu is seasonal. Nothing was calling out to me so I went with the burger and fries. Both were good. We arrived very early at a random time, probably right after opening. Everyone was so nice and service was great. The table started with the cornbread, moist and warm. Not as sweet as I personally like (I can't help it I'm southern) but delicious nonetheless. The eggplant hummus wasn't that great to me, loved the bread it came with but I think I would prefer typical chickpea hummus instead. Brussels were so good, probably the favorite thing I tried. For my entree I had a kale salad with added salmon. I liked the crunch and the light vinaigrette. My husband had the seafood risotto which was slightly undercooked. All and all a positive experience and I'd definitely go back if I was in the area.

It's always seemed to me like average food for high prices that they know people here will pay. We went here with out-of-towners, including kids, and it was impossible to get our order taken for a while, maybe 20 minutes. Most restaurants prioritize getting kids fed earlier than adults, since they go to bed earlier. There was no sense of urgency here. Our waiter forgot our drinks and was nice but barely came over to see if we needed anything. Also, it is VERY LOUD. Prepare to ask "what??" over and over, or whatever your version of that is (pardon, say that again, etc.!). People at our table wanted chips with guacamole and salsa. The guacamole fit into a small salad dressing container (the tiny cups). This was barely a sharing amount, but we all got our thimble-ful. The server or kitchen messed up someone else's burger order, so she had to wait a while while everyone else ate. My salad was absolutely fine. It wasn't worth $20. Nothing in it was very interesting. The lettuce was fresh but poorly drained, so I got to have a watery mix of things with dressing. The dressing came in a small takeout container. This isn't fast food, and my badly drained, boring salad was $20. Give me a real dish :P

The beer is consistently solid, the food is better than you'd expect from a brewery, and the atmosphere makes it dangerously easy to say, "Just one more," three or four times. My only complaint? I keep hoping they'll make a West Coast IPA a permanent tap instead of making me wait for one to show up. Consider this my completely unbiased campaign to make that happen. Until then, I'll just have to suffer through drinking all the other great beers they make. Highly recommend.

There was street parking available out front for us, but I could imagine parking would be tougher during the warmer months! This spot was fairly simple inside, with a variety of tables, exposed brewing machinery, and loosely golf-themed decor. The service was friendly and efficient, even though the space was pretty busy with a trivia night happening. We ordered two beers: their Schwarz beer and a Hazy IPA! Both tasted great. We also ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Cheesesteak, which both came with a lovely serving of fries. The sandwiches were very tasty and the accompanying sipping sauces (Hot Honey and Chipotle Aioli) were awesome! Overall, a wonderful, no-frills spot for a bite and a sip! Nothing to blow your socks off, but also not much to critique! We would definitely return!

We had plenty of room and it was nice to have delicious beer, good food, and a pleasant view of this part of Highland Park. I've been here before when it had a different name, but it seems like little has changed. This is a well warn bar! Comfy seats at the bar and a smattering of booths and table with a homey feel - lots of wood and available light from the large front window. This is not a huge room by any means but it never felt crowded. Our group had mostly apps like guac and chips and a quesadilla or two. I tried a Kolsch lager and a Marzen lager both if which were a little cheaper than usual due to the Happy Hour Special of $5 a beer. Margaritas are $6 at Happy Hour. The beer was very good! We had a great waiter and being seated just a few feet from the bar meant no one went thirsty or hungry for long. On past visits I was seated on the back patio but we had rain on this most recent visit, and it's also March! (Patio season does not start in the Chicago area for at least another month or month and a half!) The patio is a nice little wood fenced in area with lots of tables and a back tap bar. Not sure if that set-up is still the same.... This is a great local bar with a lot of rustic, homey charm. I'd definitely recommend if you want good local beer in a friendly old-school bar.
