We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out that it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try! read more

Redoing my review from a few years ago. Their food is outstanding, and the staff are great. Great lamb chops and mashed potatoes.

Insanely good french fries. We came after my daughter's performance and we were starving. Mashed potatoes were awesome too! I got caesar salad which was great, huge salad. Daughter got ribs and I ate some of her mashed which were awesome. Skirt steak was good and if you are a diet coke person you will understand when I say they have a good diet coke there. This is one of the best places in the burbs for food! They are so consistent every time I come in or order carry-out. The service is always fast and the workers are very helpful when dining in the restaurant. It is clean inside which is very much appreciated. The grill is house wrap is one of a kind. I have not found a better wrap that is so consistent all the time. The Gyro meat is delicious as well. Everyone always leaves here very happy. read more

Easy to get to location with lots of parking. The restaurant is bright and welcoming and has a really nice menu. Service was good when I went up to order as well as table side.Particularly liked the fresh salad or wrap option where you pick a base and add a protein. I ordered the Asian wrap with grilled chicken with curly fries and a soft drink. It was solid but not spectacular. The Asian flavors and crunch I hoped for did not pop. It wasn't bad but just very average. Next time might just order a burger and a beer. read more

Grill House is located in a corner of a quiet strip mall. We ordered the special $50 family meal online and it came with a ton of food - chicken noodle soup, garlic bread, BBQ chicken, ceasar salad, ribs, green beans, curly fries, pita bread, rice and potatoes - so definitely a good deal for the amount of food given. They have a separate carry out door and I had arrived about 15 minutes earlier, however I was only waiting 5 minutes to get my order. Not surprisingly, the kids loved the curly fries and devoured those up the first. Everything else was good, no major standouts. They also do a lot for giving back to the community with dine outs, so that is always appreciated! read more

Went back again to grill house to try their skirt steak one more time, can't believe now charging 24 for this lol! The steak was tough chewy and stringy and the smallest cup of coleslaw with it , this time I can say I will never go back again!!!! Dengeos by far much better! read more

I've eaten here at least 50 times due to its proximity to many of my children's after school activities so I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! There are very few restaurants that all 3 of my kids will agree on (outside of chipotle), but Grill House is one where everyone can find something...including me! My kids like all the (not so) healthy menu items like mac and cheese, hot dogs, fries, etc. If you're ever so lucky to be standing behind us in line you'll hear me encouraging them to get a veggie to go with their hot dogs and fries so that I feel a little less guilty. I used to get their greek salads pretty often, but lately find myself ordering grilled chicken in pita, which is very tasty and filling. And of course I always help myself to a few of my kids fries, which are quite delicious. It's fast, convenient, tasty and kid friendly, which is why we end up having so many meals here! read more

My husband and I just went for lunch the other day. I love their menu and the variety of options! I love turned their salads into wraps. So far my favorite salad to wraps are the caprese or village salad wrap. Their family packs are also a great fast dinner option during the week! Yesterday evening, 7/27/2026, I had dinner with my cousin and was treated horribly by management. Allow me to explain. My cousin received his meal within 10 minutes. I had ordered a simple cheeseburger and after 25 minutes I approached the manager and asked about where my meal was. He said he would check and another 5 minutes went by and he never got back to me. So I once again asked about the status of my dinner. He then said "Can't you see that were busy?" His attitude was totally unacceptable. May I suggest schooling this manager on how to treat customers. He should of gotten back to me after checking the status of my meal. He also could have responded with I am sorry Sir, 30 minutes is too long to wait. Let me find out and take care of it. "Can't you see that were busy" is unacceptable. consistently, my soup is not served hot. Further, my soup and entrée are served together. Therefore, my entrée gets cold while I eat my lukewarm soup. When I mentioned it to the owner, he said they're not a full service restaurant. So the wings were really good and the food came out fast, but my gyro with potatoes/rice were literally cold. The manager tried saying the food was fresh, but I've never had food served to me like that before. Then the attitude they tried to give us was ridiculous. My father got a steak sandwich that was supposed to be cooked medium, but came out well done. He took one bite and spit it out... that's how tough it was and yet again the manager tried giving us an attitude saying this is choice quality meat I'm sorry, but I'm use to going to quality restaurants in the city where they actually treat you with respect. Came in to grab lunch here today. The place is located in a mall and parking is not a problem. As you walk in you get fast food vibes right away. Tables later out in the main area, louder atmosphere. Order at the counter and they bring out the food to you it seems. First thing I noticed is the prices. Right off the bat these are not your typical lunch prices. You'll be spending over $20 for lunch. Sandwiches don't come with fries unless specified. So if you order a chicken sandwich ($11) plus fries and drink you're looking at over $20. I feel that a bit steep. In any case I dished out $25 for the skirt steak sandwich which comes with waffle fries. My co-worker got the chicken sandwich. The skirt steak was ok, but nothin I'm craving to eat again. It was smothered in some sweet bbq sauce no specific seasoning in the steak. The toasted garlic bread it comes on was nice. My co-worker said his chicken sandwich was good. Nice char flavor but he had to get more mayo or sauce on it as it was a bit dry. Overall I wasn't too impressed, nothing really stood out. I found the process to be bit on the high end, could be just the neighborhood but the value isn't there for me. If I do go back I should try the gyro, maybe that's what they are known for. read more

This place might just be my newest fave find, and it's next to our swim school to boot! To me, it looked like more of a sit down restaurant from the exterior design, but it's set up like a fast casual place, where you order at the front, are given a number, and then your food is brought to you shortly. I was pleasantly surprised with how extensive the menu is: salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, wine and beer galore! As someone who enjoys the occasional glass of wine on weekend outings, I liked having the option to add a glass (for about $8.50) to my meal, and there's 3-4 red and white options each. Both the burger (it had a special name I cannot recall, but served with bacon, avocado, and special sauce) and the steak grinder sandwich I've tried here on my visits were fresh, hearty, and hot. Adult meals don't come with a side, but the kids' ones do (waffle fries are the default). My crew has also tried the cheese curd appetizer, which is crisp, melty, and delicious, grilled cheese, pulled pork, and even a couple of the desserts. I'd pass on the overly sweet, one-note rainbow cake slice (such a novelty you can get it here though!), but the housemade ice cream sandwich was a hidden gem! This place is great as the food is fresh, delicious, and economical and they are quick and the place is kept clean. They have a good sized patio if that's your preferred seating also. It's no surprise that this place was quite busy already at about 5:30pm on a Sunday evening. The other big plus for them is they sell beer and wine along with their extensive grill house menu. Our party of 6 enjoyed a couple of kids' cheeseburger meals, a cheese beef sandwich, a bifteki (ground lamb/beef) sandwich, a salmon sandwich, a bowl of lentil soup, and a hummus plate. I've been to Grill House several times, and I've never had a bad meal there. On this particular occasion, my husband and I were celebrating my brother in law's birthday. I had the gyro with onions and tomatoes and sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the Italian beef, but he got the Italian sausage. It still tasted good. The gyro came with a huge pile of meat that could never fit on the pita. Grill House used to be known for good food at a reasonable price, but their prices have risen since we've been there last. At least the food is still good at Grill House. I still recommend Grill House and will keep coming back. read more

You see one of these Greek restaurants in every city. It was packed. Clean. Noisy. Lots of old people. You receive an abundance of food and it has flavor. The food is not outstanding, but it will fill you up, and the pricing was reasonable. You order and sit at a table with your order number. We would go back to the Grill House. read more

This is a casual mostly Greek style food restaurant with a beautiful outdoor patio, take out service and fast, friendly table service once you order at the counter. I had the Greek salad with grilled chicken which was on the list of protein extras. I liked that they serve the dressing on the side. My friend is vegetarian so she liked that they had many options for her. The gyros sandwich that my husband ordered was rather disappointing. There was very little gyro meat in the pita which looked store bought not fresh. The meat was cut in very small pieces and they were very dry. I heard from someone who gets take-out regularly that the chicken gyro is a better option. Everything is made to order so you can leave out ingredients that you don't want. The restaurant is clean and seems to have a mix of families and couples but singles would be comfortable as well. There is a large parking lot shared with a strip center. My family brought in Grill House for a quick dinner one night, and it was a great find! We had the lemon chicken with rice, green beans, potatoes and pita - plus some chicken noodle soup. The soup was tasty and had some funky noodles in it which was a fun surprise. Noodles were a little on the stiff side for my taste but I didn't mind. They are killing their business. Grill house salad ordered with chicken. The size was very small and no chicken. I got up to tell them and woman told me that was their portion. Absolutely NOT! I always get the salad because of the portion. She argued, I told her that was what I always order. She filled my plate with lettuce and put chicken on top. The cost of the salad was $20!!! I was in the area, and right off the bat, we had a strong start with their Saganaki Cheese Curds. This is the most Greek Midwestern thing I've seen. And they were also good and had a nice panko crust on them. They also do customized orders so I had the Bifteki with Halloumi Cheese & Pita. The bifteki were hearty and everything went well with the lemon and herbs, no surprise here. Also, the only thing that I tried with no Greek influence was the Kale Caesar Wrap, the ratios were good with chicken being in abundance. The Chicken Souvlaki was also good, but I'm definitely rocking with their half chicken which is wonderfully prepared, and glistened with all of the marinade was fantastic. The oregano, the olive oil, the lemon I mean everything was done right for this dish. I also liked their Avgolimone soup, silky, fragrant, and tasty. For dessert, they had this enormous house-made Baklava Cheesecake. Nice crust, and a dense cheesecake that I think is good enough to share. Nice outdoor patio. Great looking restaurant inside. Price was a bit high compared to a few miles west from there for similar type of food. Now the food I had: Chicken Gyros- at first it looked great with huge amount of sliced chicken but it was not like typical Gyros meat. It was seasoned but very weakly. I was disappointed with it lacking flavor. Pita was good. Sides- Greek potatoes- what a joke. I didn't eat more that 2 bites. Rice was fair but Not flavorful. Greek lemon soup - super weak flavor. Thickness was good. It was just blah. Ordered ahead of time and they packed to go. They had it ready and ended up missing all utensils except a fork with soup?? Nice!
