Fast & friendly service - fresh & healthy options! We've ordered from here twice so far, and both times have been excellent. The first time I had a veggie (quinoa & sweet potato) burger, which was very good. The fries were very tasty without feeling too naughty (not being overly salty or oily). My husband got the Mediteranian bowl both times, once with chicken, then with tofu the second time. I got a Southwest Bowl today, with a lettuce base and tofu as my protein. WOW, it was so good, I had to come write this review! Their tofu is done to perfection, which is not something I say a ton, unless I'm at a Thai restaurant that get's it right... all in all, BWB can consider me their new regular. I was eager to try this spot but completely chagrined to discover that the compliments given in the past didn't match our experience. First, "dine-in" to me means at least a table and a chair withIN the restaurant, ie: under the roof. Perhaps tables outside count for others but, to me, the "dine-in description is misleading. Second, the place is no more than a concession counter with concession level food and, at least when we were there for lunch, an order-taker who repeated our orders back three times, got them wrong twice, asked us to repeat twice and finally delivered the orders wrong. As to the food, my Favorite Companion thought her Pub-Burger was above average but her fries dry and tasteless. My grilled chicken was on the dry side of average and the fries (with Merkt's cheese) were average to limp. Beverages are in cans or bottles (Coke products and water). Not a pleasant experience, enlivened only by the cement trucks rolling past at 40mph. BWB gets my personal Bleagh rating of 1.5. (2 was a gift). read more

Sad how this place keeps failing and management doesn't seem to care at all. Ordered burgers, fries, and wings last night. The burgers were mushy and tasted like McDonalds. The fries(both regular and sweet potato) reeked of old fried tortillas. The wings were over fried and super dry. I also didn't get my sauce with my order. I get it that running a carry out restaurant in this economy is tough, but why should I have to overpay for low quality food that is obviously suffering because you aren't getting the business that you used to in the summer months. Great Quality! From the packaging and delivery to the quality of their food - all top-notch. I've had a burger and a bowl on two separate occasions. My family had other bowls and burgers and everyone loved their dish. Great fresh ingredients, the tofu had a great outer crunch, the hamburger buns were steamed, and all around attention to the details. I hardly ever go to BWB Shakes, and now I know why. Online, I ordered for takeout a Mediterranean Bowl with Grilled Mahi Mahi and the Tahini & Harissa on the side. The order was ready in a timely fashion. I picked it up and brought it home. When I got home, I discovered that they gave me a Mediterranean bowl with the falafel, not mahi-mahi; and no tahini or harissa at all. I called them and reported this. I was told that they haven't offered mahi-mahi for a year, and that they were out of both tahini and harissa. I asked them why they didn't note that on the receipt attached to the bag. So me & my girlfriend saw this is the best reviewed burger & shake joint in Highland Park.. friendly service, didn't have to wait for a while.. but the food... first thing is the shake, it was good but way too thick.. I couldn't drink it with the straw provided.. second the fries came out cold & just wasn't up to par for the quality to price ratio.. then the main event.. the BURGER.. we got the most popular which is the BWB Smash Burger.. my girlfriend liked hers which is good, but I got a triple which seemed good at the time considering my hunger levels, but once beginning to execute the bun started ripping apart then the whole burger started falling apart, which wasn't ideal.. definitely was nice to try out, but unfortunately can't say I'd stop by again. read more

The menu includes peri peri sauce done two ways. Both are out of this world delicious. Peri Peri is a Portuguese spicy sauce that has intrinsic flavors with a slight lime delight ! Ask Paul for a sample taste before getting over a chicken meal. This is a very different spice to anything curry, but BWB got a winner here ! I look forward to many more return visits now that I "found it". Paul is a wonderful host too (never met him before tonight). We ordered carryout from BWB Rocks. We ordered the Neighborhood Burger, the Border Burger, and Rocks Da-Q Wings Steep Ravine BBQ Sauce. We also ordered french fries as the sides for the burgers instead of the chips that come standard (french fries are $1.00 extra per order). Everything was delicious! I usually order spicy wings but if I am trying wings at a new place for the first time, I order non-spicy so I can taste the flavor a little better. These wings did not disappoint. The sauce was delicious and the fact that it was made with Ravinia Brewing sauce made it even better. I will be trying one of the hotter wings selections next time. The burgers were also excellent. I liked the bit of spice on the Border Burger because it was not so overwhelming as to prevent flavor from coming through. My friend enjoyed the no-frills Neighborhood Burger as well. Overall, the burgers were well-portioned. The only recommendation I would make to the restaurant would be to use some type of wrapping for the burgers that does not stick to them, especially the cheese. It was not easy to remove small pieces of the wrapping and I ended up eating a little bit of it I'm sure (but it tasted great!). The wings were mediocre and a bit fatty, and the buffalo sauce was nothing special. The "EIEIO Burger" was fine, but there are plenty of much better burgers around HP. Boo. Ordered dinner from BWB shakes tonight via Grub Hub and the entire order was wrong. I only ordered a salad and shake. When it arrived, there was no shake and the salad was dry with no dressing. Called the restaurant and they can't "do anything." Can't get someone out here to make my order right, can't credit my account, in fact, said there is nothing they can do. All in all, the charge for the non-existent meal was $37.07. Pretty steep for simply a bowl of dry lettuce and no dessert. I warn you not to order from here because while they contract out with Grub Hub, they don't really care if the meal is actually delivered correctly. I would give it zero stars because I received zero dinner, but that wasn't an option. read more

We carried out BWB Rocks for the first time yesterday. Very easy online ordering system, everything was ready on time, and service was very friendly. We had two different kinds of wings (peri peri wings and the baked wings) and the chicken shawarma bowl. Everything was excellent. I especially highly recommend the baked wings which were juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. We will be back for sure to try more from this menu! read more

I have come to BWB since the day it was open and this place has never changed. It has always been my go to spot in Highland Park for wings. When I was gonna grab food today I didn't realized the place just closed but the owner was clutch enough to still make my order. Now that's when you know you are doing something right and have a reputable business. The pickle chips were soggy and tasteless. It was like eating a grease filled sponge. The fries were fine, again not well seasoned. The sauces were really good, especially the hot candy. Ordered for pick up and 2 of 4 bowls had severely undercooked rice...the faro bowls were cooked ok. Worse, we paid for extra protein (chicken) in 1 of the bowls and instead got zero chicken. When I called to tell them, the person said they were very sorry but offered nothing to fix it. We thought it was just a bad night so we tried again and ate outdoors at restaurant. Yet again, the rice was inedible. Didn't really want to wait for things to be remade so just left. We'll probably give it another try in several months (if it lasts) since the concept is good, but once is a bad night and twice is a clear pattern. read more

We got BWB delivered. The food arrived on time and warm! We ordered 1 Far East bowl and 1 Southwest Bowl. Both were very tasty and filling. The blacked chicken was delicious in both dishes and was a large portion of protein! The only complaint was that the edamame in the Far East bowl was cooked in its skin instead of being shelled. Just heard about this place and gave it try for something different. And it was, very creative menu. The Far East Asian bowl was excellent. Rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We were in the mood for burgers and this place was recommended to us. We were so disappointed in what we ate. The burger patties were dry, bland, and burnt. The bacon on one burger was also burnt. We did not receive the fried pickles that were supposed to come with the burgers either; which I was personally looking forward to trying, so that just added onto my disappointment. Homemade chips were decent. One of the containers was melted on the side, though it did not appear to get plastic on any of the food. Only one of us said his burger was "okay, but nothing I'd jump up and down about", the rest were bummed. For a family of burger lovers who were so excited to try a good burger from a new local restaurant, we are sad to say that BWB just did not live up to the hype...at all...and we are not a picky bunch.
