I came here during lunch and got a a spinach pie ($4.5) and chicken shawarma pita ($10). They offered these free chips "on the house" and they were a nice little appetizers to munch on. The spinach pie was quite good! And after about 10 minutes my shawarma came out. It was seasoned good even though a little dry. The garlic sauce was very flavorful and helped with the overall flavor and texture. I was quite happy with the food as well as the price! I would definitely recommend and come back to this place! I'd been wanting to try this place for a while because of the high reviews. But I wasn't really impressed. I got the shawarma but there were way too many pickled ingredients in it. And the fries were soggy. I went with probably the safest entree, and it was pretty disappointing. On the plus side, I think their appetizers are a win. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and music was playing. Can't remember the genre. I ordered the hummus (comes with pita), stuffed grape leaves, spinach pies and Sambusek. All items were flavorful. The hummus was smooth and lemony with a smattering of sumac on top, maybe a tad too much olive oil. The grape leaves ok. Pita was soft and complimented the hummus. I'm use to pinenuts in Sambusek and have an I my two pieces. And the stuffed grape leaves were my favorite of the appetizers. Stuffed, perfectly stuffed and tart. They will go great with labneh. It was not a bad experience for the first time. We went around 5pm on a weekday and there were not a lot of customers but inside was very decorative with a variety of styles with music that was a little too loud and did not suit the establishment, maybe because it was empty. It was clean and staff was nice. We ordered an appetizer, a lamb kebab plate, and a lamb pizza. The appetizer had unique flavors, the kebab could have had more meat in it for the price, and the pizza was the favorite with no issues but probably would not hurt to have a little bit more lamb pieces on the pizza. I ordered the mixed grill plate since it was my first time and I kind of wanted to try a little bit of everything. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the pita chips. I could tell that it was freshly made and was already impressed. The mixed grill plate comes with Kafta, chicken, and your choice of shish kebab or lamb kebab, grilled vegetables, and for the side you can also choose from rice, mashed potatoes, or fries. I got the lamb kebab and rice this time. The food was so delicious and full of flavors! I was especially impressed with the lamb kebab! I went here with a companion who chose this place. He had been here a few times already but it was my first time. It's a cute little place near the post office in Haymarket. Nice atmosphere and medium busy at lunchtime on a Sunday. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars, which was a good sign. They had complimentary hummus and pita chips. My companion said they were very good. I got the ground beef stuffed zucchini and he got a kebab. I also got a mint tea. My dish was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and well spiced. I've been coming here for several years now with family, usually at lunchtime. There is easy parking and we're always seated immediately since it's never full at these hours. The menu offers many selections with a choice of chicken, beef or falafel for a majority of the dishes. As you can see from the menu, they're reasonably priced and come with a side for most -- which makes for a full meal. I usually go for a beef wrap with a side salad (big enough to share)! This time, it was so filling, I didn't even finish and got a to-go box. I'm never disappointed coming here - good service, no frills, clean Dining room with healthy options at reasonable prices. My main problem was the amount of food in general for the price and would say that the flavor definitely doesn't compensate for the price. I am on an anti-inflammatory diet and it has been so hard to find restaurants that don't use seed oils or industrial oils like canola oil that cause inflammation in our bodies. Great Mediterranean cuisine with excellent choices and perfect freshness in their servings

I had dinner here with my girlfriend on a very, very rainy Tuesday night. The restaurant was large, but empty; though it seemed like they had a lot of takeout orders. They have a few nice paintings on the walls but there was no clear theme. I liked the vibe but it was a strange choice. For being the only patrons, the service was a little slow. We waited about 5 minutes after finishing our plates to receive the check, and they only refilled our waters once. Luckily, the food made up for the lackluster service! You get a free starter of pita chips and yogurt sauce. The pita chips were thin and crispy, I liked them a lot. Yogurt sauce isn't really to my liking, and this one was no exception. We ordered a small Hoummos appetizer (Side note, I've never seen hummus spelled this way but I guess that's the Lebanese spelling), which comes with fluffy pita bread and a large plate of hummus. The hummus was very, very good and my girlfriend and I finished the whole plate before our main dishes came out. We were both eyeing the shawarma plate, but I ended up going with the mixed grill plate. The shawarma meat was very, very tender and juicy and there was a large helping of both chicken and beef. For the mixed grill plate, you get chicken kabob, kafta, and your choice of lamb or shish kabob (I chose shish kabob). The kafta meat itself was cooked well but I personally wasn't a fan of the spice mix. The shish kabob was my favorite, with very tender beef. The chicken kabob was a little bland but I suppose that's what the sauces were for. It came with a garlic sauce and (I think) sumac sauce. The garlic sauce was DEFINITELY garlic sauce, it was too strong for me but I'm sure some people would love it. I couldn't quite put my finger on what the sumac sauce was but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Fries were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, very good fries. All in all I had a good experience at Byblos that would make me come again. They have a large menu and it was difficult to decide on just one dish. I highly recommend Byblos to anyone looking for their first taste of Lebanese culture or anyone who likes Middle Eastern food but wants a bit more of a traditional sit-down dining experience. read more

The Winchester area has desperately needed a Lebanese restaurant. Byblos is a wonderful dining experience with friendly and helpful wait staff, generous portions and authentic flavors and decor. We had the Halloumi Cheese appetizer to start, which may be the best start to a meal ever. My wife loved the Chicken Shawarma Pita Roll, and I had the Lamb Kabob Pita Roll. I had the Kanafa for dessert and my wife had the Oreo Mousse cake. They were both delicious. We hit this restaurant yesterday at around 6.30 pm. Seated immediately and served unique dry pita chips with zaataar spice and yogurt! Yummy! We had Falafel, Baba Ghanoush with their handmade pita. All were very fresh and tasty! The Mediterranean pizza was also very good. Wish they a few more Vegetarian entrees on their menu!! Finished the dinner with Baklava. Music in the background, white linens, white plates, wine glasses, etc. Very clean (including the bathroom). The staff is friendly. Was given pita chips with yogurt/olive oil (see pix). It's a great combination and unique. Ordered tabouleh (just the right acidity and Olive oil), fried kibbeh (tasty although there are no pine nuts mixed with the ground meat), chicken shawarma wrap and french fries. I like the fact that the shawarma wrap only has chicken, tomatoes, pickle...no french fries in the wrap as fillers. I would have liked garlic sauce but didn't think to ask... Not sure if they have it. Reasonably priced... My bill was $22. This will be my go to Lebanese restaurant when I'm in Gainesville. read more

My friend and I came here for dinner tonight and it was delicious but the stand out was the amazing service! Our server (maybe the owner or manager) was so amazingly attentive and kind! His customer service was excellent and made us feel so welcome! I really liked the kofta platter with rice. It was full of flavor and I ate all of it and was pleasantly surprised my meal included some zucchini and squash as well. The prices were reasonable, there were lots of tables, it was beautifully decorated and clean. Ordered online takeout from here today. Received a receipt prior to pickup that showed that a 20% tip of nearly $9.00 had been added without my consent. When I entered the restaurant to pick up the food, I asked for a refund but was told there was nothing that they could do - that I needed to contact the owner via the website. Of course once I went to the website there was no 'contact us' section. I like to tip when it is my choice, not when someone steals it from me. We stopped in here for lunch on my daughter's birthday. It was clean, well-arranged, and inviting. We had a favorite Lebanese restaurant in Massachusetts, so it's sometimes hard to give a restaurant a fair assessment. We ordered the Byblos Mezza Platter and baba ganoush to start. Before our food came out, the server (very friendly and accommodating) brought us amazing seasoned pita chips and their special dip. It was so good that we knew we were going to like whatever we ordered. The baba ganoush was exceptional. The platter was described as a sampling of hummus, tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves, sambusek and falafel. Neither of us is a big fan of tabouleh, anywhere, but with the small, fresh, still warm pita loaves we received, we layered the flavors and enjoyed all of it! The platter is meant as an appetizer for two, but we filled up and didn't have room for the shawarma sandwiches we ordered. We ended up eating the contents with out the fresh pita, which was kind of a shame... ...so we went back a week later for my birthday! And this time we got baba ganoush (because why wouldn't we!) and entrees of chicken shawarma, which were heavenly! The service was again spectacular as well. This delightful restaurant serves fresh, delicious Lebanese cuisine in a casual atmosphere. It's a little difficult to find, because it is hidden away in the back of a shopping plaza. But it's worth the effort to find Byblos! For our first visit, we ordered a couple of full-size appetizers, and we shared an entree. The portions were generous and we took home leftovers. Everything tasted wonderful, and it's clear that they care about the quality of the food they serve. Service was warm, familial, and efficient, with extra bread being offered and drinks being refilled. A couple of large parties were seated while we were there, and there was a brief wait for a table when we exited. But we never felt rushed despite food being served very quickly after ordering. Perhaps the only disappointment was the dessert. We asked about Baklava to go, and our server suggested a boxed assortment of treats. Unfortunately, the pastries were a bit greasy and not nearly as flavorful as the savory appetizers and entrees. We're looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.
