A review long overdue! Unfortunately, our experience at 2 Kyles was not great; super disappointing, since there were so many positive reviews on this place! We came to check this place out for lunch, and we ordered: +the Jones Beach sandwich - described as a vegetarian option, this sandwich had eggplant, provolone, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, pesto, and a red pepper-feta spread; the bread used were extremely stale and was not the focaccia bread as it was then stated on their menu; at first, we thought it was toasted, but it was not; also, the sandwich was missing ingredients, such as the roasted tomatoes (but the menu seemed to be updated since then) + the cheesesteak cigars - came with a horseradish dipping sauce; these were not heated all the way through and came out lukewarm/cold +a pizza with half mushrooms and half cheese - we love stinky and strong cheeses, but this had a very unpleasant odor to it that we were unable to eat it We did ask for a to-go box, which took some time to receive; the staff didn't seem to care nor interested in how everything was; when we were leaving, no one was available at the front. On the other hand, the owners seem to really care about their customers' experience and feedback, and we appreciated this - not sure if we'll ever be in the area again to give them another try. Stopped at 2Kyles yesterday after seeing review on DMV Adventurers and it listed as one of the best sandwich shops in the area. The panini's were great. Tried the Short rib/cheddar and turkey/apple/brie. Had a nice conversation with manager, Pat, who was great. Will definitely be going back. Next time trying the meatball panini, which Pat developed. Love this place! This is a cute little quick stop for delicious food and a drink. We had the prosciutto pizza the last time we stopped and it was very good. The service is always lovely and often the owner is there and is enjoyable to chat with. It had been a bit since our last visit and my only disappointment was that the canned beer selection was a little more pedestrian than it's been in the past. Whoa! What a great find. We were greeted by the host/server with an amazing smile...regret not catching her name...she truly set the experience. We were heading east from WV and decided at the last minute to take a break and get a sandwich. Found this place on Yelp and noticed it was close to the highway. I stopped in for lunch while passing through town because of the great reviews and I was in the mood for a sandwich. I'm so glad I did. I was greeted immediately and given a menu. I ordered and didn't wait long for my food at all. My sandwich, the roast beef and cheddar panini was delicious, tons of flavor with perfectly caramelized onions . The bread was pressed and toasted the way it's supposed to be. The restaurant was clean with a homey ambiance. If it was a nicer day I would have sat outside as I am not a fan of high tops from a comfort perspective, but I understand why they had them, because space is limited. We had the 4 cheese pizza with arugula, the mushroom, artichoke, and gruyere pizza, short rib grilled cheese panini, and the mushroom buratta flatbread. There were no leftovers! Sorry I didn't get any photos, but everything looked so good and was so beautifully presented. I had the flatbread, so i'll speak specifically to that. The crust is thin, crisp, and pleasant to eat. The arugula is young, tender, mild, and plentiful. The mushrooms were perfectly browned and meaty; the earthy flavor paired well with the creamy buratta. I would definitely order it again, but my mouth was telling me that caramelized onions were missing. Someone's dog greeted me on the patio, so that was a total plus, as well as being able to eat outside in the park on a warm summer day. Service was cheerful, helpful, patient, and professional. 2 Kyles is not noticeable when one is traveling through The Plains. It's located in a building at the back of a parking lot - which is at the end of a driveway. I stumbled across online mentions of 2 Kyles - so I figured out where they were physically located. I've sampled both their White Chicken Chili and their version of an Italian Sub. Both were really good. I was especially impressed with the crunchy texture of the exterior of the sub bread that was used. Apparently - some of their ingredients/products are baked in New York by one of the Kyles - and then shipped down. There is a small dining area - for a large guy like me - the chairs were very uncomfortable. Overall the food was tasty and the service was friendly. What shaved stars off for us was the seating situation. The sitting area is very small and they've tried to mitigate that with some long high top tables (probably 6'x2') I'm 6'2" and our son is 6'6" and we both had to basically sit sideways because our legs didn't fit under the table. The limited surface size of the table made it a bit of a trick to have people on both sides (especially when one had a pizza). Overall, if you're looking for good food for takeout or, if it's a nice day (not the windy chilly day that we were there) you can sit out at their few outside tables. read more

If you need to catch a quick bite on the road trip in or out of town & want to stretch your legs for a few, 2Kyles is a sweet spot. If you're the only customer there, it's a great place to relax, but it gets too uncomfortably tight in there with more than 7 customers. The food seemed somewhat fresh (except the desserts in the case that looked really dried out), but not too imaginative. We've heard some positive reviews about 2Kyles on the Northern VA Foodie FB Group and from friends, so we stopped in for lunch one day. This is a quaint sandwich shop in The Plains, behind The Front Porch and they offer a lot more than just sandwiches, such as soup, chili, pizzas, salads, and interesting appetizers. Everything is made fresh in-house, including sauces and their roast beef for their sandwiches. The Kyle working up front is very helpful and friendly. He offered a suggestion of the Knuckle Sandwich, which I took and it was excellent! The Turkey, Apple, and Brie sandwich was also a fav of ours. We also tried their soup of the day, which was acorn chowder, very rich and tasty and their chili of the day was a white turkey chili. The chili was very interesting, the turkey was incredible and it had barley in it as well. They offer wines and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy with your lunch, as well as Rt11 potato chips. There's seating inside, 4 tables with seating for 2 to 4 each, as well as plenty of outdoor seating too. Next time we're in the area, visiting wineries, we'll probably stop in and grab a picnic to take with us. They do feature charcuterie here too. Definitely suggest stopping in! read more

Coming into DC from the Valley the choices get thin and all the fast food and chain dining from Haymarket on in looks like a wasteland some days. This is much more than pizza. This place is one if a kind. I had the Turkey panini and my husband had the roast beef sandwich. Both sandwiches were very delicious! The bread on my panini was perfectly crisp till the last bite and so flavorful. I've never had a panini so good! Do not envision this place as an ordinary sandwich/sub style shop though. No way, what they serve here is above the norm/ordinary. The ingredients they put together on these sandwiches make your mouth water. While eating our sandwiches we were discussing what we were going to try on our next visit . But like I said this isn't just a sandwich shop. They offer pizza, bbq, pastries, breads and they carry wines, beer and flavored sodas. Plus they offer catering.
