    Turkey sandwich
    Carrie K.

I read the good reviews and decided to try it. I ordered the grilled turkey sandwich. It was okay. The cafe was quaint with a cute local vibe. The service was polite and quick. I wanted to really like it but the sandwich was just okay.

Every once in a while you run into something truly AUTHENTIC. When you do, it stands out head and shoulders above normal daily experience. Third + Main is authentic. We were headed to the Red Truck Bakery and stopped here for lunch. We were greeted warmly and hospitably as we entered. That in itself is a rareity these days. We got She Crab Soup and a tuna melt for lunch. The Soup is homemade and delicious. The sandwich was made and grilled on the spot. The service was quick and efficient and personal. The decor is cute and casual, with a very relaxed feel. Just an all around great lunch. You definitely want to go!!

Finally got a chance to stop in while they were open. Cute little building just off Main Street. There are a few seats inside and several tables outside. They have a pretty decent sandwich menu to choose from with some of the sandwiches already made for grab and go. I went with the grilled cubano and my wife chose the grilled mango. We both chose sourdough for the bread. They have several drink options to include fresh lemonade and canned beer. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Our sandwiches came out fairly quick and we were pleasantly surprised with them. The flavors for both were very delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This physical location used to be called "Renee's Gourmet." But at some point in the recent past - it transitioned to new ownership and management - and is now called "Third + Main Gourmet to Go." For some reason - my previous review written when it was "Renee's Gourmet" still appears under the listing for "Third + Main." So time to write a new review! Bob Moore the owner and chef "Third + Main Gourmet to Go." Since the change, I've been in a few times for lunch. So far, I've had the mixed greens salad with Tuna fish; the 3 cheese grilled cheese on sourdough bread; the Mushroom-Asiago Cheese Quiche, the She-Crab Soup, and the Raspberry Cheesecake bars, and the Oatmeal Raisin cookies. The Mushroom-Asiago Quiche, the 3 Cheese Grilled Cheese sammich, and the She-Crab soup - were all very enjoyable. The Oatmeal-Raisin cookies were a bit on the dry side. Great little lunch place! Check it out! #ThirdAndMainGourmetToGo

Just like a quick fix vacation; I pulled over to find the last parking spot in their fairly large and literally packed lot. Feeling like a cross between the deep south and a quaint Martha's Vineyard Inn, This beyond cute hole in the wall flows with character. The she crab soup was pretty fantastic too. How lucky for me to burn up some gas today and jaunt down to Warrenton! Next thing to uncover is who their wine specialist must be... It's a well thought out offering for cleansing your pallet before one of Mary's homemade desserts. The Key Lime pie is perfect in tartness and texture!

I paid for this, a five year old could have made a better sandwich. It was a little past 2 on 5/27/23 I was the only one in the shop. Definitely not in a rush as an excuse. In fact there is no excuse for this sandwich. I will never go back!!!

    Shrimp and Corn Chowder ($7.95)
    Larry W.

Tried Third and Main Gourmet to Go today for lunch. We ordered the 'Shrimp & Corn Chowder', 'Classic Chicken Caesar Salad' and a 'Cubano' sandwich. The Shrimp & Corn Chowder (Large $7.95) was disappointing. It was rich with good flavor and very black pepper which I loved! But 'chowder' to me is a very rustic and hearty stew, which this chowder was not. Very small diced potatoes, vegetables and corn but one key ingredient was missing......whole SHRIMP......There were ZERO, NADDA, NONE in the entire bowl. (did I get the bottom of the picked through pot?) It did have shrimp flavor and a miniscule amount of finely diced shrimp. Their Shrimp and Corn Chowder was more of a chunky bisque than it was a chowder. Good flavor with chowder ingredients, just not prepared like a chowder. Classic Chicken Caesar Salad ($8.95) was what you expect in a good Classic Chicken Caesar Salad, 'Simplicity'! The chicken was fresh, moist and very flavorful...the menu said it was grilled but it did not taste grilled. Regardless, the chicken was GOOD! The croutons were fresh, crunchy and garlilcky! All placed on top of a nice fresh and crispy, very light handed bed of Romaine and drizzled with a delicious Caesar dressing. The nice twist was the grated Asiago instead of the traditional Parmesan, I liked it! Cubano Sanwich on Sourdough ($6.95) was good although not a traditional 'Cuban Sandwich'. The 'Cubano' consisted of ham, turkey, Swiss and mustard on Rye, Sourdough or Whole Wheat. I opted for the Sourdough which of the three breads offered was the closest to the traditional Cuban bread used. Before I go further, let me say the sandwich was good and I would order it again! But I would simple ask for a ham and turkey with Swiss because that's what it was, not a Cuban sandwich! I know, I'm being finicky! But I don't want people to believe this is a real Cuban sandwich if they have never had one. A Cuban sandwich is Pork on Pork, not Pork on Turkey although still tasty. If they would ditch the turkey and replace it with roast pork (traditional), pulled pork or Salami then it would be worthy of calling it a quasi Cuban sandwich! The sandwich needed some fat versus lean turkey, fat equals FLAVOR! The bread was toasted very nicely, I just wanted more butter on the bread! The bread and butter pickles were very good and I would guess homemade! If not tell me the brand, I want some! The iced teeeeeeaa..... NOT GOOD! To be fair, the vessel holding the unsweetened tea was almost empty. It was cloudy, well let's be honest it was muddy bitter iced tea. Like I said it was at the bottom and almost empty, so maybe I got the short end of the iced tea and the shrimp and corn chowder.....but it was only 12:15 on a Tuesday. Overall our lunch was good and reasonably priced. I WILL certainly have lunch here again!

Friday is She Crab Soup day...count me in ! You have the choice of small, large and jumbo. The jumbo is $15 bucks. The large is $5 and quite adequate for a meal w/ a sandwich. I had the turkey with swiss on whole wheat; a winning combo. Best for takeout, parking can be a challenge. Renee is a pleasent lady and she is quite proud of the soup variety she prepares. She talked about cold carrot and butternut but was most enthusiastic about her Thurday chili....hmmm...I shall return!

I'd say their location is a bit tough since it's in the back corner of a shopping center away from the street, so it's not getting a view as you drive by. We hadn't seen many (any?) Mediterranean restaurants in the area and wanted to give it a go. We went very classic: I had the chicken shawarma and my wife had the gyro. Both came with fries and some pickled veggie on the side. We dined in and orders came out quickly. Flatbread was pretty well filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and onion, plus some kind of sauce. Same for the gyro except it had 3 long, flat pieces of gyro meat. Fries were fresh, hot, and crisp. The garlic sauce on the side was quite good... Not something I'd usually go for, but I used it and my wife used all of hers plus what I had left. The location was quiet, prices weren't bad. There's not an extensive menu, so I'd be interested in trying some more of the Mediterranean options. I saw they also have burgers, steak & cheese, etc., but that didn't appeal to me. I wouldn't say it's a go-out-of-the-way place, but considering I haven't seen anything comparable, I'd go back if I was craving some Mediterranean food.

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.
