We waited 2 hrs before our dinner came. We asked them to bag our food so we could go home. We got a drink at 30 min and appetizers which we devoured at 60 min. They never asked if we wanted another drink. They seated people inside and outside but are too understaffed. The manager/owner came to us b4 we left and apologized he said that they are understaffed and he hasn't been able to hire. No one wants to work. (No food discount.) This is sad. First time, for me at Lebanese restaurant. We were greeted right away and seated. We ordered the land chops and the surf n' turf. The lamb chops were cooked perfect. They were crispy and smokey on the outside. The inside was tender and juicy. The hummus was creamy and had oil. It was great with the pita bread, pickles, and olives. The salad was good. The grapes leaves were filled with rice and ground pork. It was not bad. Had a sour taste. Just a little different for me. It was pricey, we spend about $49 with tip. I came here for a birthday party on a snowy evening. I had always wanted to try this spot so it was nice to have a party here. The decor here is clearly outdated. The cheesy 90's party lights don't exactly scream modern. The keyboardist was a little entertaining but I sometimes felt like I was riding an elevator with the muzak-like sounds emitting. The belly dancing...eh, it was okay but nothing I couldn't have gone without. The hummus was spot on. It had a smooth texture and a tangy finish. That, mixed with a little oil and parsley, made it an excellent appetizer. The combo #2 dinner turned out to be more than I could handle and I was full before finishing. The baked kibbe was a bit of a wild-card, as it turned out to be different from what I expected. It tasted a little sweeter and spicier than previous times I've had kibbe. However, it wasn't bad. The chicken kabobs turned out to be very tender and flavorful, to my surprise. Usually, chicken kabobs end up dry. The grape leaves were warm and full of rice and meat. Lastly, the rice was plentiful and delicious. Service was fine and the waiter was informative. Prices are okay, as long as you remember this is a restaurant and not a take-out kabob joint. If you don't need updated decor in your restaurant, Byblos is a fine choice. read more

Do I recommend this restaurant?! Yes! A thousand times, yes - but for eat-in. We have been here many times. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. You can taste the quality and care in each preparation. The menu is extensive and expensive, but soooo worth it. The Mezze plates are not to be missed. The staff are friendly and attentive. The owner also comes around to check-in on guests. The restaurant is very neat, clean, and spacious. They also have a space for events. Just to give you an idea just how much food we had for $41 per person, below is a list of everthing we sampled: Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Kibbeh Nayeh, Olives, Pickled veg, Mekanek (Sausage), Shanklish (Cheese), Tabbouleh, Fattoush (salad), Cheese rolls, Grape leaves, Kibbeh balls, Falafel, Spinach Fatayer, Sfiha, Kafta, Beef, Chicken, pita, Olive oil etc. That's close 20 different type of food, and they all taste great. The falafel is a must try, so is the meat platter. While I am still unsure if the food alone is worth $41 per person, the experience is what made the dinner worth while. The food is fresh, service is great and it's family friendly. We always get their mezza ( which is basically a little bit of everything). Very disappointed. I've been coming here for many many years. I can no longer afford to eat here. No more luncheon specials and everthing is now a La carte! I found an old menu at home and everything is at least $7 less. All entrees used to with hummus and salad. Now salads are $2 extra and they even charge $1 for feta cheese! On the dessert menu the mamoul has gone from $7 to$12. I can buy a package around the corner for $12. Unfortunately won't be back unless it's for appetizers read more

Our family of five had lunch here today. Dining room is lovely. Food was ok. Waitstaff was abrupt, slow, uninterested and rude. We ordered the chicken kebabs, kofte kebab, cheeserolls and steak fries. We had rice with the kebabs and were very surprised to see meat in the rice. All but one of us do not eat red meat. When we were finally able to get our waiters attention we asked if there was other rice. He grunted that they had vegetarian rice. He brought it quite awhile later and charged us for it. Had an amazing meal at Byblos....it was our first visit and we are impressed. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgable about the food. They were very accommodating about my food allergy (allergic to nuts) and helped guide us thru the menu. The food was also fabulous and generous portions. Warning!! Byblos went from 5 stars to 3 and now to a 1 star review. We came in with a large group and our server and the owner recommended to order the family style dinner cause we get a variety of food to share. It was for 8 us the total for that was $247 which wasnt bad but at the end of our dinner we got served with a bill tip included for $461. Almost double and the food was nothing to rave about. The appetizers were warmed up in a microwave you can tell on some of them that they were not really hot just warm. The baba ganoosh and hummus was the smallest plate I ever seen to share it was a joke. The meat plate that came out was chicken, steak and kafta. We all got one each another joke. We were charged $4 for a can of soda are you kidding me what a rip off also a kids chicken finger with fries was $14 the labne which is store bought was $9 no other restaurant in the state charges that much. The bread was also an extra charge, we wanted a side of garlic sauce it was the smallest plate and they had the nerve to charge $3 for each serving. It's two table spoons worth. We didnt enjoy anything here. This place was our go to spot for Lebanese food for years and this will be our last time we enter this establishment huge rip off. The owner thinks he is clever with the way he up charges on every single thing. You are a loser for doing what you are doing. Norwood residents or anyone coming here pay attention to your bill as it will double in no time. Got some take out and they were delicious. Ordered the Moussaka, it was so rich and amazing. We also sat outside at their restaurant - pretty good service, amazing food. We had the lamb chops that time and it was perfect for sharing between 2 people. Also, get the Tabouli and Baba Ghannouj. We thought the large Tabouli between 4 people was too much, no, it's not. Might order large anyways even if it's just for 2 people, it's that good. During these strange times, go here for some well executed healthy food. It's worth the trip (or take out). I normally love this place. The food is fantastic and it has an amazing ambience. I have brought many of my friends and family to this local spot. The service was always slow and we would definitely end up waiting for attention longer than usual, but never unbearable. However, yesterday was a unique experience where I spent nearly 3 hours at this restaurant because we were ignored the whole night and only got service when we flagged people down multiple times. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for someone to take our orders. After 30 mins, the manager came over and asked if someone had taken our order and when we said no. He said he would bring over complimentary apps. We never got these apps. We then waited another 15 minutes. 45 minutes total before someone took our order. After we ordered, it took an unusually long time to get our meals. Once we got our meals, no one came to our table to check on us. We waited another 45 minutes for the bill after finishing our meal. The worst part is, the table next to us had 3 different people waiting on them even though they came after us. We arrived at this place at 7:45pm when the restaurant was full and ended up being the last party leaving because no one was waiting on us. We left at 10:45pm. Hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. I love this place and was deeply disappointed but how badly we were treated. I hope to see the service pick up. read more

Great middle eastern food in downtown Norwood. Being middle eastern myself, I'm very picky about my food, especially when you grow eating it. Their food is fresh and delicious. The baked kibbee was very good. The kafta, was flavorful and delicious. The waitstaff, and some of them have been there a long time, could use a pep talk in the friendliness department. I went out for lunch today with friends at Byblos. They have a vegetarian menu that is almost all vegan. I appreciate this as I'm vegan. I had lots of choices. I got a lunch special - falafel, hommus, and tabouleh. The picture doesn't show the tabouleh; these are my leftovers, which I'm eating now. All the food is amazing and fresh!
