place is pretty happening…read more 5 stars because their pastries were pretty decent. ordered over $100 worth of treats and drinks because I needed to attend and bring it all to a dinner. front person still gave me an attitude- not sure why. it could be one off because another staff member seemed friendly to others. This review will reflect only the baked goods, and atmosphere. (sometimes people are having a bad day, who knows.) Decor was very nice, Saturday was pretty busy. I will come back and maybe find someone else to help me instead.

The counter was emptied when we first came but it filled up pretty quickly. We just got a matcha latte and one prix fixe menu to share. For the main dessert, we picked the chocolate and hojicha soufflé. The chocolate soufflé was light and airy and not too sweet. It paired very well with the hojicha ice cream and caramel apple on the side. Overall, all the dessert was pretty good but everything was very small and I don't think it tasted that good that it worth $30. The service was also not that great. My husband and I were a little confused when we first got into the store and we weren't sure if we needed to be seated. A lady that worked there saw us but never greeted us nor gave us water until we asked. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us and it just made us felt a little uncomfortable.

She asked us questions about what vibe we were going for, what our venue was like, and what was important to us both aesthetically and sentimentally for the cake to reflect. We were already feeling pretty good about Penny after one phone call with her. THEN we tasted the cake. It was MUCH higher quality then the two other bakers we tasted cakes from. After that we were sold. We hired her to a design a wedding cake that reflected the venue (a rooftop farm in Brooklyn). She came up with the really cool idea of designing a cake that reflected the distinctive bluestone pathways and wildflower groves that distinguish the venue. I felt like I had a unique, meaningful work of art at my wedding! She handled all the logistics of getting the cake to the venue with our coordinators so we did not need to deal with any of that ourselves. Penny is a true pro!

The name illustrates its flavors and consistency exactly - the bar has this chewy cake base serving as a platform for the smooth, sweet, gooey, buttery amazingness that sits atop. The very top is golden brown perfection with its subtle caramelization adding a little extra something to the bar. Each bite taken melts in your mouth. Ohmygosh - its so good! The Gooey Butter Cake is $3.75 a slice - so it's not a 'purchase everyday' treat - but if you're out exploring East Williamsburg this weekend be sure to pick up a slice!

She was not wrong! My son has an egg allergy, so we decided on a vegan chocolate cake with a dairy frosting. She made a beautiful chocolate cake with the beautiful flowers on top. The cake tasted like a regular cake, and you couldn't tell it was vegan. It was just incredible. Amy's chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, and I also really enjoy her rosewater scones. The day I picked up the cake for my son's birthday, I also got my mom a slice of vanilla coconut cake which I froze for her visit 2 weeks later. She loved her cake, also. There is literally nothing bad you can have her, and her new partnership with Gratitude Leaves is amazing. Gratitude Leaves also has beautiful flowers, so you can get your cake and flowers at the same time.

They do have maybe 4 tables and some seating by the window for people to have coffee and a pastry but that's not what they are really set up for - no wifi and no restrooms for longer visits. They do have cute mugs ans cups and the place looks vintage and sweet. The coffee was just OK, lots of competition in Brooklyn but I don't have an overview on the cakes or pastries - something to try next time. For just the cafe, it's a-ok. Service wasn't at the table you go up to the counter and place your order and they make it for you

The name alone is a small lawsuit waiting to happen as there is nothing, nothing, nothing super about a sandwich at A&C Super. I would know. I ordered the turkey and provolone. This not a complicated sandwich. It is, in fact, the kind of sandwich you order when you want to find out whether or not a place can make a sandwich. They cannot. First, the portions are small. Now, I am no big eater. I talk during lunch, mostly. Occasionally I eat. But this sandwich was so small it seemed less like lunch and more like a suggestion of a lunch. A text message about a lunch. A whiff of a lunch. And dry. I have read legal documents with more moisture. The turkey had clearly been through something awful. No amount of mustard was going to be consolation. I asked the staff a question. The response had the warmth of a Brooklyn parking ticket. That is, if the parking ticket also thought you were stupid for parking in Brooklyn in the first place. A sandwich without flavor. Served by people without humor. This is no deli. It is a grim waiting room where they charge you insane amounts of cash for a grim piece of bread and limp meat. Here's the thing: it's a hip little place with fussy graphic design. And hip little places with fussy graphic design should know their limits. The baked goods? Good. Stay there. Live there. Die there, eventually, smothered by all those fluffy, buttery croissants. But that sandwich? It should be retired. Quietly. I wish them well. Having lunch elsewhere. From a distance.
