This is my second time visiting after a year. First visit, I had a stroller with me and there was a giant step! Although the pastries were delicious, it didn't make sense for me at the time. My husband one year later stumbled upon a reel of their chorizo burrito and was motivated to go. I was surprised that they renovated and it is soo much bigger and more accessible. The bathroom also has a changing station. Chorizo burrito was about a 15 min wait at 10am and I'd say that wasn't too bad compared to the amount of ppl who came in after us. As we waited, we munched on a ube black sesame mochi butter muffin. Tasty and chewy, a bit tough on the edges but overall not too sweet. We shifted our attention to the domino table and played a short game with our little one, and it was great! Once the burrito was ready, we chowed down and it was delicious. You have the option of adding or subbing it with avocado. The green sauce also gave it an extra kick that makes it super satisfying. So much flavor and ingredients packed into this one burrito. This is a very well-rounded bakery, starting off with the Breakfast Burrito, their most hyped-up item. I thought it was extremely good. The first time I had it, it blew me away, but as I returned, I've been less impressed. I feel like an improvement they can make is adding different textural elements. I think something crunchy inside would really take it to the next level. Overall, it does have great flavor, and it's definitely worth trying, but I do think there are better ones in the city. Their chocolate chip cookie is also really solid. One thing that I think is a miss is their ube mochi muffin. It was a little dry and a little bland, so I think you can skip that one on your visit. I don't think that's possible about this place more. I just had it for the first time a couple weeks ago and my experience was excellent. It's the tiniest little big shop with the most amazing breakfast burrito burritos. There's a lot of chairs set up outside so definitely better to come during the warmer months. However, it was worth it to bear the cold for this burrito. We came at opening and it was already wait, but we only waited about 15 minutes. The burrito itself is quite massive and definitely one to be shared. We got the add-on with avocado, which is a must. The burrito was very flavorful with a lots of different fillings - potatoes, chorizo, egg, and cheese. I also can't forget that this is a bakery after all, so we also ordered some baked goods. All of their butter mochis have an excellent texture and strong flavor. I'm only sad that I missed out on their signature pandan but I'm happy that I was able to try their ube. I came here for the breakfast burrito but it was surprisingly not my favorite... come for the chocolate chip cookie because it might be the best in nyc. Even though they cannot warm it up, the texture is still perfect - crisp on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside with the chocolate chunks melted to the amount and a generous sprinkle of sea salt. My friend and I came here after a workout class, and there were a bunch of people waiting outside. The space inside was tiny (as the general storefront area was closed) and only the bakery area was open. My friend ordered the ube mochi, the breakfast burrito and a cappuccino. I ordered the ceremonia cookie, the avocado toast and a chai latte. We got our drinks relatively quickly, and had to wait a little bit for our food, but we were able to snag two small stools outside while we waited. You have to order 2 days in advance and you pay online as well. I asked for the latest pick up (3pm) since I ordered it for a friend's birthday dinner and he loves cinnamon rolls. I don't really eat cinnamon rolls but I trust TikTok. The cinnamon roll was legit huge and it's even prettier in person. He liked it and he probably has eaten all the cinnamon rolls in NYC. I popped in after a class for a bite. Of course I wanted to try to the chorizo burrito. I was glad to find non caffeinated drink options - hibiscus iced tea hit the spot. To my surprise the sauce came out all in one piece in the shape of the container lol. I carefully put it back in the container and went to find a stirrer to mix it up - that's a weird ass salsa. Overall very filling but not the best burrito. Hard potatoes, bland chorizo, it was aiite. For dessert I got cute little matcha cake with raspberry icing and freeze dried berries on top. It was moist, ultra soft and had a great balance of flavors. I'm a fan! Wish there was more mochi buns left but looks like they sell out quick. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I take the same class again, I'd definitely pop back in for a pastry. Oh and almost forgot. What really tanked the experience was an associate there. The way they fill this burrito generously, it's enough for two meals. I came back one weekend just to get their cookies and mochi again. I ordered the breakfast burrito which they are very well known for online. I definitely feel like this place was overhyped due to the TikTok craze. I followed the instructions, showed my screen to the cashier, she says it's not ready yet, and I say ok I'll have a seat. Lo and behold, my sandwich is in a bag underneath where it had been sitting forever. It will all make sense. The Mexicans do it differently and that's just facts. It's a family run operation with the owners being from SoCal and originally intended to just run a bakery. However, after being unable to find a good California breakfast burrito in NYC they just made one ahahahaha that's so beast. True entrepeneurial spirit, they saw a gap in the market and BOY did they fill. This burrito($14.75) is a beautiful amalgamation of Chorizo, or "the Zo" as Socal natives call it-- jk we don't call it that haha but I might try to get that trending. As I was saying, it's a fusion of the zo, eggs, potatoes, cheddar cheese and scallions all brought together by a flour tortilla, with a side of house made salsa. We F'd up and came at primetime on a Sunday and were met with a brutal line that ended up taking about an hour to get our Zo burritos blessed by the breakfast burrito gods themselves, but it was so worth it. While in line, you get to see the curtain peeled back. They start with the chorizo in one pan, then dump the eggs in so that they fuse, and become one with the zo. In another pan they are lightly cooking 4 wrapped burritos at a time, to heat up the tortillas and give them that perfect little crisp. Upon my first bite, I was transported straight back to a beach in San Diego with my elite breakfast burrito in hand to battle off an impending hangover. SD has better Mexican food than LA but they hate to talk about that... After my bite, I looked over to my roommate, who is a Mexican food connoisseur, for confirmation that what I was eating was real. He let out a "Bro what the f**k........this is one of the best burritos I've ever had..." And this man is PICKY with his Mexican food. Also, $14.75 is SO reasonable for this behemoth.
