Lemon cupcakes with passion fruit buttercream

Yummmmmy! Lémon cupcakes, cortados, mini cakes and that confounding bacon jam croissant are all worthy of my ****200th review****!!! Recently, had a friend recommend this place and Im so glad I obliged. If it werent for thé fact that my hands were full of goods, I think I could have taken a million pictures of this cozy space and all thé goods it holds. Worth mentioning that it is wheelchair accessible as well. Clean, organized and well spaced out are all great descriptors of this venue. The décor is modern, yet quaint, with mini chandelier lights, Blue paint and marble tables which are strangely reminiscent of a large home kitchen. Chef-owner, Penny, is Sweet as pie (see what I did there) but dont let that sweetness fool you as she makes savory treats appear with a slight of hand. Clearly, I could gush on and on but your best bet is to go try it for yourself. I highly doubt you will leave disappointed.

Never leave without a cake pop, praline or a cupcake on the side of your coffee. Without dizzying display of multicolor batches of confectionery, place is a lesson in warm Brooklyn modernism.

    Breakfast Cookie (almond, chocolate)

It's really difficult to decide what to order here, unless you have issues being disciplined when it comes to sugar consumption... Like me, and order a bit of this and a lot of that... There will be enough that captures your eye from a salt and pepper croissant to peanut butter cookies or Macarons or even macaroons. I think the baker is pretty accomplished to pull off all of this while ensuring creative tweaks here and there: like raisins in the fudgy dark chocolate pecan brownie or the chocolate croissant bread pudding. If you have issues with delayed gratification - like me - it would be advisable to skip the goods in the refrigerated case and stick with room temperature goods for I could barely sink my teeth into the cupcake 15 minute after purchase without escaping the feeling of having eaten a stick of butter... That said, I'm really impressed by the room temperature baked goods with my favorite being the breakfast cookie - it's almost like cookie dough with almonds and chocolate and made me think of it as a quality marzipan product. All in all, a pretty impressive addition to a neighborhood that has Blue Stove as well.

Red Velvet Birthday cake for my roommate

I'm giving 4 stars because until recently I thought this place was a little expensive for my tastes, but I recently bought a birthday cake here and had an amazing experience with Penny, the owner. She went above and beyond on making me a beautiful cake. I ordered a large red velvet cake with cream cheese dressing. I didn't specify decorations or anything, so imagine my surprise when this BEAUTIFUL cake was made. There were multiple comments at my roommate's birthday party -- "This is literally the best cake I've EVER had" "This is crazy good" "This is the most beautiful cake I've ever seen" etc etc Of course everyone had second helpings...and then third helpings...

Delicious new bakery I'm thankful for. Been dreaming of the day a bakery would open up in the area. Thank you a million. Granted the decor, unfortunately must say, needs to be taken up a notch (a wee bit cheesy) but very clean. Update: TRY THE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE!!! OMG. Best thing ever. It's like a sugar cookie on steroids. The kind of gooey crispy sugar cookie I'm always searching for and can't find. The chocolate croissant pudding bar thing is goood too. Thumbs up

Highly recommend the macarons and chocolate bread pudding. The macarons were some of the best ones I've had. I had the plum cardamom which looked exquisite and was firm upon bite. Super sweet, would go well with a cup of tea. The chocolate bread pudding was delightful and lasted me two days with its chocolatey goodness. I also tried a hazelnut chocolate cupcake and it did not disappoint. The pastries here are definitely top notch, and I can't wait to return to try some of the other goodies.

Penny was great! I asked and she delivered. I wanted a cake made the same model as my fathers 1958 MG and that is exactly what she gave me. Everyone loved the cake it was beautiful. Not only was it beautiful it tasted great. Penny is very confident about her work and helps you every step of the way making your cake vision come to life. Loved it!

We ordered one strawberry and one strawberry banana crêpe. They were filled with strawberries and bananas, and the outside was drizzled with glorious Nutella, which is a hazelnut chocolate sauce . The banana and strawberry not so much as to me that didn't really have much of a taste, but maybe that was because the rest of it was super flavorful and over powered the fruit. All good and definitely satisfied my crêpe craving, but next time I would stop by to enjoy their desserts in person. The Kunafa looks particularly wonderful and has definitely peaked my curiosity.

Having a dessert spot in the neighborhood that is open late night and is serving flavors of our culture is nothing short of a dream come true. Not so great for my weight loss goals, though haha. Thank you, Moose. I came in here, and the place was absolutely buzzing, with groups of people enjoying their late night desserts- a testament to how much we needed this spot to just open and thrive and exist. I don't personally like cream Kenafa so I haven't really tried anything off their menu yet, but the Dubai chocolate crêpe is really calling out my name, and I am just going to bite the bullet and try it one of these days. I did go in to sample their Dubai chocolate. As a chocoholic, I am on a low-key search for the best Dubai chocolate bar in the city. This bar did not disappoint. The filling to chocolate ratio was perfect. However, I do feel that there is an over balance of crispy kanafa in the filling. I think it could use more pistachio cream and be a little on the runnier side. Can't wait to come back and try that crêpe. Until I am able to make that trip back, do stop in and enjoy a sweet treat in this cute little dessert shop. It's also Palestinian owned so you know you are supporting the right people and the right cause while satisfying that sweet tooth craving. What more could a customer ask for?

I haven't tried the sweets here, but I was able to try two matcha varieties. The cold whisk matcha is delicious. The flavor is extremely strong, smooth, and well-balanced. That one is around a $9 price point. The matcha latte, for around $7, was not my favorite. It's quite light, and the matcha is overpowered by the milkiness. I would come back to try the varieties (the brown sugar or strawberry syrup) or the Yuzu lemonade, which sounds promising. I also may get the cold whisk matcha again, if I'm in the mood and means to spend that much on a drink. However, I would not recommend the standard matcha latte.

Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

As described, it was their take on a milk punch, and wasn't too sweet with a bright hint of citrus. I would recommend it. The hummus was good, being thick with a strong tahini flavor, though I have preferred others. Outside of the hummus, the daily salatim included a mix of mostly pickled items. First, there was some pickled cauliflower and carrots with a bit of turmeric. The second salatim was a more unique and spicier pineapple slaw, which was refreshing, and had some herbal flavor from parsley or something similar. The third was a cabbage slaw, which was alright, as I found it a bit too lightly seasoned. The last was a mix of cucumbers, olives, and other pickles, which was standard and tasty. Alongside all of this, the pita was warm and fresh, and the staff refilled everything when we asked. For the main course, I chose the Steak Shashlik, which they spell as shishlik, for $46, which came with tahini and some pickled onions. The steak was tender and well seasoned, and the tahini added a distinctive nuttiness. I especially enjoyed making a mini sandwich with the steak, tahini, pineapple pickle, and pita. Others at the table ordered the Spicy Lamb Kofta and other shashlik options, including Chicken and Trout. In terms of sides, someone got the $15 Fries with tahina ketchup, which they enjoyed. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal, with no one ordering dessert as a few walked over to the tasty Bertoni Gelato nearby. This place is a tad expensive, but I wouldn't mind going back. Even as a fan of pickles, I wish the salatim were a bit more varied, such as including an eggplant or bean-based mezze. I presume the dinner version is a bit more varied, as there are many more salatim, but they should put a bit more effort into the lunch one as well.

We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate. You definitely tasted the coffee and it was less thick than regular hot chocolate (which was on a thinner, sippier side). You can sample ice cream to make your selection. Flavor-wise, I tried the masala chai, black cherry cardamom, and the saffron soft serve. The saffron soft serve reminded me of the leftover milk from ras malai turned into soft serve, which was interesting and nostalgic. The masala chai and cherry cardamom were more subtle than I hoped. Some tasted unique upfront but left a slightly weird aftertaste that kind of lingered. I respect what they're trying to do and can see why people love it, especially if you're easing into more globally inspired desserts, but for the price, I wanted stronger flavor payoff and a cleaner finish.
