I am posting this to document a discriminatory interaction that occurred during a business visit to C&C Towing and Auto Repairs. I am a Sales Representative and I stopped by with my manager to introduce our company and discuss maintenance and supply needs. The shop was busy, and upon arrival I parked in a spot I believed would not interfere with operations. In hindsight, I acknowledge the parking may have been improper. When it was brought to my attention, I immediately apologized and took full responsibility. However, during the conversation inside the shop, an individual who appeared to be in a supervisory/owner role said: "So you come here in a Tesla..." and "The Indian decided to come to my shop and park across three spots like that." I had already apologized for the parking issue. My race had absolutely nothing to do with the situation. Referencing my ethnicity in that context was unnecessary and inappropriate. If my vehicle needed to be moved, that could have been communicated directly and professionally, and I would have done so immediately. Instead, the interaction escalated to include a racial remark, which made the situation hostile and unprofessional. I am not posting this to create conflict, but to accurately document what occurred. Professional disagreements should remain professional -- without racial commentary. I hope ownership addresses this appropriately so customers and business representatives are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional, even by Northern New Jersey standards. Had to pull off the road due to an overheating engine on a Sunday night. Started calling shops EARLY the following morning. Took it to one place who looked at it and couldn't (or possibly wouldn't) help. Afterwards, we started calling around. When calling C&C it was clear the person answering the phone had absolutely no intention or interest in helping us. I took my car there for a few years..then my air conditioning stopped and I drop it off and Charlie tells me work is done, come and get it. It worked for 2-3 days,not really cold either. Then it stopped working. I go back and Charlie screams at me to look at my bill for the condenser he put it my car and I will see it was used from the junk yard. Did I want a used condenser, was I asked about it,NO. I go back again to talk to him and he tells me maybe he could look at it in a few weeks. He is just to busy. I walk out of there talking to myself that I cant believe that he wont help me. Then his son screams at me telling me not to complain to him. I wasn't talking to him. Then Charlie comes out fuming screaming and having a fit. DO NOT COME HERE. Charlie is the biggest jerk ever and is extremely unprofessional. He has had my car for over a week and when I call to ask for an update he hangs up for two days straight and then has an attitude when I call from a different number. Told me nothing was wrong even though last time he told me that my car broke down on the side of the road two days later. When I brought that up he screams on the phone and tell me to come get my effing car out of his effing lot. Terrible customer service wouldn't recommend to anybody. read more

I got a flat tire that almost blew out on the parkway, so I drove on the run flat tires, just to get off the parkway and avoid the ordeal of dealing with getting roadside assistance there. I got off at the nearest exit and saw this place immediately. I pulled in and asked the guy to take off the wheel and replace it with the spare. Everyone was super pleasant and it was done in less than 5 minutes, with the old wheel put in a bag in my trunk for me for only $15. I was able to stay on schedule for the day, and these guys really helped me out! read more

By far one of the worst repair shops and auto shops in the area for basic maintenance. The owner and shop manager him self has a horrible temper and is violent. I had taken my car here for some simple work, which one part was to get rid of the tpms light with the tire machine you walk around to each tire. He said he did that, but the next day I come back and ask and he starts yelling. Like abusive crazy running at you yelling. This man has SERIOUS anger issues and is likely the source of all evil in NJ. I asked if he did it then why is the light on and why did i pay for a service that was not rendered. He approached me and screamed more and threatened me, so I left it at that. Will never be back to this shop and you should avoid it too. He could have just taken the machine and done it in 15 seconds, but he said he was too busy and did not like people questioning his work. Just feel bad for his employees who looked terrified too. This place helped me and my family big time to say the least. No heat in our mini van it just stopped and the van was overheating it turned out to be fans up front were not going on. WE pulled over and googled for a tow service. The driver KENNY was so nice and assured us C&C would get us back on the road. The owner at the service center there put a man on it right away. While we waited the owner made a fresh pot of coffee and gave our kids Arizona ice tea and the drank it on the coldest day lol. Our problem turned out to be radiator hose and a relay .I thought it was going to cost us a lot of money cause the owner could not give us a price up front till the parts got there. READY FOR THIS WITH THE TOW AND ANTI FREESE AND THE REALAY LABOR.$228.16....... Been going to C&C Gulf since the early 1980s when the elder Charlie (RIP) was running the place and I was driving a '74 AMC Gremlin. The son, now runs the place and it hasn't missed a beat. What I like about this place is they're "hardcore" mechanics. There's next to nothing they can't do unlike some other places. I've had major work done here such as head gaskets, valve jobs, and transmission replacements. Work is always top notch and guaranteed. If there is a problem (mistakes happen) bring the car back and Charlie will address it - no further charge even if more parts are required. Just don't expect too much "verbosity" about a given repair. He won't exactly talk your ear off about a problem, just "it was part X and it's ready, come get it" read more
