And I have NEVER had a problem with returns with them. Even though Rivertown is more expensive I have continued to shop there as I like to support local businesses. About six months ago I reported that a wormer I purchased had a broken plunger (for horses). They would not let me replace it without bringing in the broken plunger -- Fair enough. When I did bring in the broken wormer they refused to replace it -- a $17 loss on my part. I will never shop here again. They carry the same products at Tractor Supply and Chewy that are less expensive and I will not have a problem with returns. Rivertown Feed and Pet Country are simply AWFUL!!!

When I got a bit miffed he said I'm refusing you service. Wow! Wow! Wow! I did notice they were not friendly when I walked in looking for items for my dog as I had never been at that store. No one offered to help me. And when I asked where certain things were the manager's name, who I think was Rudy was very, very rude to me with an attitude that I was bothering him. I also noticed that they weren't very busy and the pet food Express that I had been going to for 22 years in Novato was always busy on Sundays. I'm never going back there! What a bunch of jerks!!!

McDowell Blvd today and left with mixed feelings…read more The customer service was wonderful--the young lady at the checkout register was incredibly friendly, courteous, and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, the same cannot be used to describe the cleanliness of the store. The floors and fixtures are in desperate need of a deep clean. There are thick build-ups of grime and dirt on the floor tiles, heavy layers of dust, cobwebs, and debris gathered under the shelves, and clumps of loose pet hair drifting down the aisles. Even the bottom of the "JustFoodForDogs" freezer unit had noticeable grime running down the front vent. I want to support our local pet stores, but walking through such neglected aisles makes for an uncomfortable shopping experience. The front-end staff is doing great, but management really needs to step up the store's basic housekeeping and sanitation.
