Rich my service tech pointed out that when another company 3M wrapped my vehicle they covered up all my parking and lane assist sensors which I did not realize. I got a pre-purchase inspection here on a 2013 Volvo XC60 that I was buying from a different car dealer nearby. This is a service for which other auto shops charge around $150. Balducci's offers it for free, yet still does just as thorough a job (or better?), providing a 52-point inspection of the inside and outside of the car with lots of photos, ratings, and even a test drive. I specifically told Balducci's that I live out of state and would not be able to bring the car back to Balducci's for service, yet they still insisted on doing the inspection for free. I even offered $50 as a courtesy, yet they refused to take the money--Ashley at the front desk explained that this is "the Balducci's way." Even though the car was being sold by a competitor of Balducci's 15 minutes away, they gave it a clean bill of health and said it was in great shape (while noting a few minor problems with the electronics). Ashley is phenomenal. She gave an detailed explanation of the electronics on Volvos, and more generally on their strengths and weaknesses as cars. She radiates positivity and is super knowledgeable. If I lived in the area, I would happily take my car to Balducci's for service. read more

I've brought my car here the past year for several big things. Of course, I always get estimates multiple places. Dom, his son, and his employees are honest, reasonably fair in prices, and give friendly, great service. They also work crazy hours. They're there til late at night, and still open early in the am. I ran in, in a panic that I had to be somewhere and they took my car in for diagnostic immediately. Not even 45 min and only $187 later, I was back in my car with a new coil. I requested a tune up and checking the suspension online. Came in and explained motor sounds like it's running harder, and the sounds the wheels make over bumps. They told me my oil was "very dirty" and recommended an oil change. I changed it a month ago. They were adamant that not having a sticker in my window meant something. I took off the sticker after my last oil change a few weeks prior. They charged me $150 for throttle body cleaning and rear brake cleaning and adjusting. My car still made the sounds over speed bumps. I went back and took a ride with the mechanic. He was a more aggressive driver than I. He assured me there were no issues and the squeaks were probably the rubber the suspension spring sits in becoming more brittle due to the changing season. He informed me to remind him during the next oil change so he would spray everything down to try to mitigate anything before winter. My car seat cushion (just a walmart thing I bought) was cut so the cushion's internal sticky gel got over my seat cover. My car runs no different. -- About a week later, I had time to check my oil. It's nice and clear yellow. Now I know why they were pushing hard for that oil up-sell, if I didn't take it then I would know they were lying. Unfortunately for them, I didn't take it and can confirm they were lying. I looked up what a throttle body cleaning was, and read online how it is just an upcharge. Youtube shows how simple it is. I now question the integrity of the business, and do not trust them for future work. A $150 mistake from me, but now I know not to go back. -- Google Reviews says Dom Balducci is no longer owner of the shop. Maybe that could explain the disparity in experience. read more

I brought my car here (Mercedes convertible) to fix a hydraulic leak. I was unable to raise or lower my top because of the leak. Dom and his crew did a great job of fixing my car at a very fair price! Had I gone to a Mercedes dealer, it would have cost me more. Mary told me I could come right over, and a few hours later, and with a new pair of rear struts, my car drives like new. They saw the problem immediately and fixed it the same day. In this day and age, it's almost impossible to find an honest mechanic. And it's even tougher to find one that is honest and talented. Balducci's is the exception. I have been giving Dom my car for a couple of years now. An example of his honesty was when I was sure my break pads needed to be changed. I gave him the car and he returned it to me the next day, fixed at no charge. He told me that the pads were just a bit dirty and he cleaned them quickly. Sure enough, the brakes were perfect after that. You just don't see that kind of customer care anywhere nowadays. read more

He has been my only mechanic since for my family with six cars. 20 years of minor and major repairs, tires, bought a few cars for the kids and ALWAYS felt important and fairly treated. I took my 2007 Chrysler mini van to Balducci's for service. There were several issues I needed addressed as the van has over 110,000 miles. The service was excellent and the prices were fair. I anticipated needing my front brakes replaced, but was told they were in good shape and just needed adjusting. In this day and age it's increasingly difficult to find someone who is not out to scam you. I'm glad I found this business and it's the only place I'll take my car for service from now on. read more

I was referred to Balducci's Car Care by the insurance company covering repairs on my car. At first I was very happy with the care I received from Dom. I continued to use them for service on my car, but when I had them continue for other vehicle services. I had them do an oil change, but despite my instructions to leave the prior windshield stickers on my windshield, someone decided to remove them all. When they did the service, they never reset the service light. So when I have started the car, it tells me to have my car service. I had the brakes serviced, which they replaced all the brakes. But when we left the warning lights for the brakes and the anti-lock brakes light come on. When it was returned they said the computer needed just to be reset. Wrong the computer said there was a bad sensor. He couldn't repair it then, I made appointment & the mechanic was to order a new sensor. After waiting that morning, I was advised by the mechanic he thought he could fix it, but couldn't. So now I have to make another appointment as they never ordered the part. One of the days my car was in for service, someone left the lights on all day; it caused the battery to die. I tried to charge it, but after 2 weeks I couldn't keep it charged and cast me another $150+ for a new battery else where. During these times I had requested the exhaust pipe be repaired. The @ 10 inch flex pipe be repaired. After complaining when they returned my car again not fixed, I was informed I have to have it in for service on certain days as they send it out. When I got the car fixed, I found that instead of replacing the @10 flex pipe with a new one, the put in and extension pipe and about a 3 inch flex pipe. When I went to pick up the car and question the bill, Sal, stated he told me the cost would have been over $225 dollars. When I told him he never told me, he changed his story claiming he told my wife, which she denied. I advised him that I would never have had it repaired there as depending on the auto store, the part was less then $30 dollars. I also needed the rear shocks replaced, but they could not get the part. After three weeks of trying to find shocks, I found them, and made an appointment on a Thursday to have it repaired. Then Sal got in the middle, giving the mechanic a hard time in front of my wife, which they could get them. Then he called me to return the shocks to a Volvo store that he could get them cheaper. When I questioned him on the price, after delaying the repair, he couldn't get them cheaper. Then he told my wife after we had the appointment scheduled, that she would have to come back tomorrow as another person needed their car by noon. They didn't care that I had a medical treatment appointment on Friday, which I missed because he couldn't fix it in the "normal time". When my wife left she heard a banging noise, she returned to find the shock had broken through the top plate, causing again more days without my car while they repair the shock again. I have had a leak with the antifreeze, but I won't let them touch it till I get some of my other problems repaired. This wouldn't be bad if my wife and I had a spare car, but I have been paying for insurance on my second car, which has been going on since June when I took my car in for service and I am given many stories as why my car is not repaired, I did receive a call on Dec 3, at 4pm, that they had to order a part due in on the 4th and then they will get back to me with the status of my car. I am still waiting for that call. I have called to talk to Dom, but he is never available and never returns my calls. If you drive Northbound on Route 295 and look at their back lot, you will see a white Volvo wagon sitting there which is in the same spot every time. When they do a repair, I have never been able to get an estimate ahead of time. With this response, I would not recommend them to anyone. read more
