I've visited Milo's Jerk Hut multiple times and had great food each time. I don't consider myself to be a foodie but the flavor is pretty good. I've had the curry chicken and jerk chicken. The curry patty however was very smooth and tasty. I've never had patty crust as soft, fluffy, and smooth as this. I'll keep it simple. Curry goat was just boiled meat and tasted like somebody mistakenly dropped a teaspoon of salt in it. The customer service is good so that's what that second star is for. Lawd. This place is ...let's start off with a basic for all Jamaican restaurants. I picked jerk chicken because whar Jamaican restaurant can mess this up right. In my mind this is a basic meal for most Caribbean restaurants. You shouldn't even think about nothing until you can successfully make this. Not Milo's. Babbyybay! They failed. Rice was mushy, jerk chicken was dried out like crispy skin dry dried out. It could not have been marinating in any jerk sauce. Jerk sauce is a marinate and seasoning. But the jerk sauce has a lot of ketchup to where it was red. Jerk was red eew! Most times jerk usually it's brown and color . On top of it being red it did not have flavor or any type of seasonings at all. This is very hard to do with Jamaican food. I did get oxtail gravy over my rice now that gravy was the only great thing about my meal. I also ordered two beef patties . They weren't good. It was the hard beef patties not the flaky soft ones that most folks love They need no stars for giving me dried out ketchup chicken posing as Jerk. Karen's was closed across the street for today. i have been eating here for years, Milo is the coolest guy and his daughter is always professional and courteous. They serve the absolute best soups and breakfast. I love my codfish and fried dumplings, also the soups are rich, flavorful and reminds me of my mom's soup. This is my breakfast and soup spot. The worst. I'm going to go back just to take pictures. Chicken was over cooked, gritty, and gross. Plantain tasted like it was fried in old grease. How could they serve such nastiness. I got brown stew gravy on my rice and it was cold and gelled!!!! Not even warm. I should've known when I walked in... place is dingy and dirty looking. This used to be my favorite place to visit every Monday for chicken soup. I went one day a few months ago to get some Jerk chicken but when I arrived to pickup my order my container the food came in was obviously fresh out the microwave (it was shrunk in on the sides). After looking at the jerk I knew that's exactly where it came from. I had already paid for my order but I got a refund. I've called a few times on Mondays to ask did they have soup and was told it was sold out, which usually happens. But today I called and was told it wasn't any. My fiance called shortly after me and asked if they had some and was told yes, I was shocked. I called back again and was again told it wasn't any...smh that's just bad business. read more

I decided to go on a crusade to review more businesses around my area because there doesn't seem to be much, if any, reviews around my location. This place specializes in West Indian Cuisine. The restaurant is small with a few tables. Upon stepping inside you're likely to hear some Reggae playing. If you're curious about any Caribbean events going on, you're more than likely to find out here. They have tons of flyer's in regards to parties, performances, and other West Indian events. In regards to the food, I mostly keep it very simple. I normally get a Beef Patty with Cocoa Bread. Why? To be frank, my family is from the West Indies and we all know that no one makes food as good as your Mother, lol. If you decide to go, I would recommend going around noon or a little later. I have a theory that the food taste better around then because they have to make a fresh batch for the lunch crowd. Been there many times but first time going for lunch special. I brought the oxtail special and can I say, they have no flavor to them. Looks like they gave me the ones at the bottom of the pot because they appeared to look burn. Then when I took a bite into them, they were hard! Thought the peas and rice would make up for the oxtails but sadly, to say it did not. The veggies were so oily and bland as well. The only thing that had taste was the lone plantain. I feel so badly writing this because I love and support my Caribbean people but..this food was just awful. I stopped by today actually to my newly found Caribbean spot, Karen's International, right across the street to find they're closed on Monday. I was pissed but using Yelp I found this place across the street. I got the oxtails rice and peas and stew chicken with rice and peas. The oxtails are basically fat with sauce on it and the stew chicken is pretty flavorless. The worst part of all though is the rice..its just terrible. It taste like burnt rice covered in sauce. This place has great tasting food, my husband and I would go here often. I ordered a lunch special last week and my food was OLD. The chicken was extremely HARD and the plantains were spoil.
