We had the squash bread with apple jam and the bone marrow + steak tartare as starters. Both were so good, especially the steak tartare that just tasted so clean and fresh, pairing nicely with the richness of the bone marrow. It came with these little potato slices that were scooped out to provide a perfect vehicle for the marrow/tartare. My partner had the carrot tart tartin, which he loved, and my scallops with morel mushrooms were perfectly cooked, with the hazelnuts providing such a nice texture. He enjoyed his phony negroni (they also had other NA options, including other mocktails, an NA beer, and an NA Riesling) and I really liked my Good Shepherd cocktail, their unique take on a dirty martini. We were too full for dessert, unfortunately. The service was great - attentive and friendly, but it felt like we were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed, even though the place was busy. It is definitely on the pricier side and I would recommend reservations as the place was pretty full, but I would absolutely recommend this spot for a delicious, quality meal in Rhinebeck!

Amazing service and menu dietary options. Very gluten free and dairy free friendly. Will go back!read more

I cant speak about an experience in-store because when i just ordered tonight, i ordered a food…read moredelivery from this place via DoorDash. From local memory, i knew it was settled on a golf course and i had never before ordered from there. The maps look awkward due to this place being a former airport which closed in the early 2000s and the course being built in the shape of a golf-stick on the map. Their food is expensive, but what i found most-awkward is that they are only open two days of the week - Sunday and Thursday (at least on DoorDash it is). I was actually looking to order on a Monday because i knew the rest of my family was planning to be out of town and i was looking to find something "different." I wanted something different, even if the items i ordered were pretty standard. I ordered a Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken because the rest of their items dont thrill me. They have a selection of organic salads, super expensive specialty burgers and even for super bowl cuisine a week later this place also has chicken wings - and several different beers, so out their door went their salad with my Dasher (delivery driver). (Never gotten into beer, and would have preferred there to be less alcoholic options in beverages, but i guess that goes with the territory that this is from a golf course restaurant.) It took a while for my order to be accepted by the restaurant, made and even as my driver waited for the items and the five minutes it took to arrive. But when it came to me, the food was prepared well. Grilled chicken was fresh and tender and the rest of the salad was also fresh and crisp - never wilted or flimsy. The dressing was served in little containers on the side and just the right amount of dressing was sent for my order. There was too much cheese on the salad and unlike most spots which tend to send their warm chicken out cool/cold, this one still arrived fresh and semi-warm. Croutons tasted freshly homemade, too - a nice touch. I know i cant afford this type of place often, but if you are completely out of ideas and can spare some extra money, its worth it. The extra money i paid for the salad was definitely worth it in the quantity of food- as i couldn't finish the entire thing and had a family member help me eat it tonight. It felt like they packed about more than 4 cups of salad which was a nice gesture by the establishment. Thanks go out to all the wonderful pictures of people's in store experience with this restaurant without other reviews of this place. They were just the icing on my cake to help me make the final decision to press the send button to my order in hopes of a good order tonight.

Ordered the NY strip again, and it was perfectly cooked to medium-rare. Delicious mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. However, the scallops were slightly overcooked. Foster's looks inviting, but appearances are deceiving. I'm sure there are tasty meal options at many other county fairs- but then again, what kind of food can you really expect from a carnival "restaurant"? We ordered the "steamers," which turned out to be just clams- tiny ones at that. Some states use the term "steamers" for clams, while others use it for soft-shell clams. My husband and I totally love the soft-shell clams. Unfortunately, Foster's tiny clam version was disappointing. Mostly everything following that continued going downhill. Our frozen strawberry margaritas had a mediciny taste. My fish and chips arrived instantly, which made it totally obvious they'd been sitting under a warmer. The breading was overcooked and hard with barely any fish inside. I didn't hesitate WHATSOEVER to tell our server, "this is really bad please take it off the bill" point blank. Which she did without hesitation. My husband liked their basic burger but it wasn't anything memorable. The one good thing about all this was our server, who was polite. Still, overall, it felt like exactly what it was: bad carnival food dressed up to look like a nice restaurant.

I got more! We were in the back room with a large 2 family party and everyone had a good experience. The staff was attentive and took great care of us. The star of the show for me was the Bianca "Skizza" - Skizzas are what they call their pizza-like experience....super thin dough, not quite NYC style in its taste and texture, but at least as thin with a unique overall texture and flavor to it. The kind of taste that sticks with you and makes you wonder "when can I have that again." I tend to get margherita or a basic tomato cheese situation to suss out any place offering pizza of any kind, but strayed from my comfort level and went for the Bianca which was truly a delicious experience. Gigi Rosemary Fig Jam, Pear, Arugula, Goat Cheese, Mozzarella, Truffle Oil created a super delicious and crave worthy experience. I finished the whole pie by myself with no issues. (Okay, maybe my wife had a slice, it's hard to remember...I just remember every bite being delicious.) There are other vegetarian options including pastas and a lentil soup. Plus a delicious looking "Barbina" salad, and the menu is helpfully labeled with which items are vegetarian. There was something for everyone at Gigi's and everyone in our 16 member+ party was happy to have eaten there.
