It's a medium size dining room with basic furnishings. The dumpling station dresses it up a bit. The staff is pleasant and go about their business, very business-like. Service and kitchen timing was good. Won ton soup (7.8) on the strength of the good won tons, but the broth was lackluster. Served with crispy noodles (7.0) wound up eating a bunch as they were right there. Soup was served very hot, liked that. Egg Roll (6.8) had a boring filling. The best dish was the Soup Dumplings (8.5), good flavor. Like everything else, served piping hot. The dumpling category seems where their strength is. We came here to try the food with my parents as it was my mom's birthday. We walked in and took a while to sit down. We got sat down. It reminded me of like a Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong or some other country where they don't greet you right away and kind of wait on you. We then met our waitress who brought water. Then we ordered bao buns, some dumplings, Mongolian beef, chow fun, won ton soup. The buns and dumplings are made fresh by a lady which you can watch. They were good. The food was good overall, nothing was WOW! But solid. I can't ding a star when things are solid. No ice cream is served there just fyi. read more

After two dinners at C-Flavor (formerly China Lane), I think I've figured this place out. This kitchen is capable of producing outstanding food and disappointing food at the same time. Order strategically and you'll have one of the best Chinese meals in the Boynton/Delray area. The dim sum is the reason to come. The xiaolongbao are excellent. On our first visit I watched them being pleated to order, and they arrived with thin wrappers and plenty of rich broth inside. They're among the best soup dumplings I've had in South Florida. The pan-fried dumplings were also very good. The soups are another strength. The hot and sour soup has a big white pepper kick, and the West Lake beef soup was outstanding. Skip the wonton soup. The roast pork fried rice has real wok hei and generous pieces of house-roasted pork. The Chinese sausage fried rice was also good, though I still prefer the roast pork version. The eggplant with garlic sauce (add shrimp) was excellent, as were the salt and pepper shrimp and dry-fried green beans. Not everything worked. The har gow had gummy wrappers and a pasty, fishy filling, and the egg rolls were small and bland. Service has been friendly on both visits. Our second dinner was during a packed Saturday evening with about a 25-minute wait, and the entire dining room was being handled by one server. Despite the staffing challenges, the kitchen never missed a beat. Bottom line: skip the har gow, egg rolls, and wonton soup. Order the xiaolongbao, West Lake beef soup, roast pork fried rice, eggplant with garlic sauce, dry-fried green beans, and salt and pepper shrimp. That's where C-Flavor really shines. read more

Based on this experience we are giving it a florida 4. In NY this would be a 3 maybe 3.5. The service was friendly but they claimed they did know the WiFi password because the owner is in NY. We tried egg roll which was hot and not greasy but also not tasty. The bbq ribs were tender and hot but overly covered with excess sauce. That same concept applied to the general tso chicken: the Singapore noodles were delicious. The star of the show for me was the roast port fried rice ordered without vegetables: it was served hot and steamy and tasty. Given our experience to date with florida Chinese restaurants we give it 4 but really it's closer To a 3.5. We will try it again and see how consistent it I'll be. read more

We had a very good lunch here today. We'd read online about the new management at this Chinese restaurant. We decided to try it. The sign still says China Lane on the marquis. But the door sign says welcome to C-Flavor. There's ample seating inside. When we stopped by there were a few other tables dining in. We looked at the regular menu, but noticed they also had a page of lunch specials. Even though it was Saturday, the lunch specials were available. My husband started with hot n sour soup -- you can choose soup or an egg roll or a soda. He liked his soup. I began with an egg roll. It was good. My only minor quibble were the prepackaged crunchy noodles for the soup -- I much prefer house made ones. For our entrees, he got chicken with eggplant. He really liked this dish - especially the flavorful sauce. And I got shrimp in black bean sauce. There were a lot of vegetable pieces (mushrooms, white onions, red onions, bok choy, carrots, baby asparagus, green and red peppers, water chestnuts, zucchini) mixed in with the shrimp and the slightly salty black bean sauce. I was quite happy with my lunch portion. Each entree came with a small bowl of white rice. I also tried their steamed bbq pork buns. The slightly sweet dough brought back childhood memories. They were very good -- 3 to an order -- even though the inside is a slightly different textured and chopped bbq pork. They are getting a lot of buzz online. As there aren't too many good Chinese restaurants here where you can dine in, you might want to try them before the season starts. I have a feeling they will be most popular. read more

2 1/2 * Given all the buzz on social media, we opted to dine in tonight (7-3-26) at the newly opened C Flavor in Boynton Beach, arriving just before 7 pm. I'll preface my comments with this: I can understand; they've barely been open more than a week, and they need to get their act together. The room is sedately decorated in earth tones. The decor may have been re-existing. In the middle of the dining room was a takeout counter and, I hope, for display only, a booth with a tray of dumpling wrappers and platters of unchilled ground meat. Not a table to be had, and there was no one to greet us or seat us. The busser, the only gweilo working there, finally cleared off a table and seated us. We were ready to go. We'll almost. No one to take our order. Foodwise, here's what we found: Soups at $5 a bowl were larger than the typical Chinese single-serve bowls. Hot & sour soup was among the best I've had in SoFla. It was indeed spicy and tart, and the bowl was packed with veggies and nuggets of ground meat. Chicken corn soup was egg drop soup almost devoid of chicken and taste, with corn kernels that were barely cooked. Wonton soup, per my friend, was okay. As we slurped out soup, our server informed us they were out of egg rolls;. ($5 for 2). Each shrimp shumai ($8) in an order of 4 had one whole shrimp surrounded by an over-steamed dough wrapper. The menu listed pork and shrimp shumai, but it turned out to be one or the other. Boneless spareribs ($15) were tender and coated in a honey sauce. Mongolian beef ($20) contained a good amount of tender meat; the sauce was tasty, but the onions and scallions needed more time in the wok. Crispy shrimp with honey walnuts ($20) were perfectly cooked, but were surrounded by almost ice-cold steamed broccoli. Pork lomein ($13) had bits of pork, but the noodles, coated in a flavorful sauce, were overly al dente. Steamed white rice, too, needed more time in the rice cooker. There's plenty on the menu I'd love to try and we'll probably be back, but not for a while, as they need time to figure things out. read more

We listened to the local buzz, and visited the new C-Flavor Chinese restaurant at the Fountains Plaza in Boynton Beach. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant in a very welcoming manner, with plenty of smiles to go around. As we were taken to our seats we saw the new furniture (the lady who seated us we found out later she was the owner, was very proud that all tables are fitted with drawers full of everything their diners would need,(napkins, straws, and chopsticks). This furniture gave the restaurant a charming ambiance. We were seated immediately, and served with glasses of iced water with our menus, which are well laid out and easy to read. Then came our drinks, and our food orders taken. Food came quickly steaming hot, and plenty of it. I had probably the best House Special Fried Rice I have ever had, loaded with shrimp and other proteins, and the General Tso's chicken was excellent, with the right balance of spice and sweetness. My wife had the Buddha's Delight, which again was plentiful and tasted great. The service staff were great, friendly and welcoming, and kept checking on us throughout the meal. We paid our bill, and were thanked by the owner and invited back. Overall, we had a great experience, and are looking forward to returning in the near future to sample more of their menu. Finally a good Chinese restaurant in PBC! Food was fresh, not greasy and well simply well done! The restaurant was packed by the time we left at 6:30 pm. Our waiter Andrew despite running around like a mad man (they are in the process of hiring more Staff) was extra attentive. We live nearby, and C Flavor will definitely be our go to now for Chinese! C-Flavor took over the China Lane location in the Fountains Shopping Center, Boynton Beach. The manager (maybe owner) has worked in the restaurant since the Shopping Center was built so she should be familiar to many. We went for lunch and the food was tasty and plentiful. I was impressed that the manager was walking around and asking for ways to improve. Knowing what your audience wants is the way to succeed in the restaurant business. I think the feedback she was receiving may expand the menu. The wonton soup was not overly salty, the eggroll was great and main meals tasted fresh. The atmosphere was calm, clean and well decorated. The food was fair to say the least and food came out cold. The noodles came on flat plate and were somewhat stale. They charge for hot tea and it was served in a shot size plastic cup. Very cheaply done. The booths were very uncomfortable and distance from table way too far from table and our backs were up against people in booth behind us. Menus were unprofessionally done.
