My late brother began modifying bikes to add an electric motor; a year or so before he passed. I inherited one of these bikes 5 years ago. The bike basically sat in my garage the entire time and was in need of repair. I took it to C Town Bikes to see if it could be made rideable again. Al looked the bike over and determined it was in need of a tune up, new cables & chain, a saddle, new tires & gear shifter. I received a call about a week and a half later saying the bike was ready. When I picked it up, it looked almost new. Everything had been replaced as I stated; and also the battery had been fully charged. The only thing I didn't get was a new charging cable - I was advised that I had to order one myself. I am pleased with the work that was done in restoring my bike. My husband took our two daughter's bikes to get fixed and was quoted for a toddler bike tire $22 to get it fixed. $100 to get the brakes fixed on a mountain bike. We declined the mountain bike and he tried to talk my husband into leaving it. Upon picking up my daughter's toddler bike it was $63. I stated that is not what you quoted my husband and he tried to go back and forth with me. We would have also declined her bike getting fixed if it was going to cost more than the actual bike cost. Do not do business here. Took my bicycle in for a simple tubeless tire flat $353 later the tire was given to me without any air. Owner recommended what was supposed to be purple handlebar tape but instead put on some psychedelic color tape I requested my money back for the tape but he claimed I chose it. I chose it because I trusted it would be purple! My bike also got some kind of brake damage. Al the owner recommend a 400. 00 overhaul of the bike, claiming if I don't, the bike would be completely ruined. Price gouging, scare tactics, terrible product recommendations. Marge the sales lady was sooo wonderful. I'm a new rider who inherited a riding bike and accessories. She reviewed all the attachments on my bike and helped me decide what I needed to keep. They serviced my bike and got me rolling. The bike rack I inherited didn't fit my vehicle so Al was nice enough to drop my bike off to my home for me since I had no clue of what was going on with the 2nd bike rack I had. NEW CUSTOMERS BEWARE THEY ARE DESPERATE FOR BIKES!!!!! Their establishment is very SHADY!!!!!! I was told I needed a new derailleur and was quoted 25 bucks. These people literally took my sons bike and played around with it just to call me and tell me I need a new derailleur again and it will cost $109.00. When I said I'd just like my sons bike back they told me it was $60.00 just to pick it up as is. I'm glad people find this shop to be helpful, but now I'm stuck telling my son he no longer has a bike. I hope they get the money they wanted when they sell it. Took my bike and my wife's bike in for their first tuneup. Not free as advertised/told. When dropping them off, I was told they would discount the rates per owner. They broke the strap off my bike rack taking one off my vehicle. They told me "no problem, I'll have a replacement when our bikes were ready". Went to pick up the bikes and the owner said he never mentioned a discount and gave me a piece of velcro to substitute the strap they broke. This shop was a huge letdown and I would not recommend them. read more

I was in search of a specific Trek bike and C-Town was one of the few places that had it in stock. But they only had one so Al was gracious enough to hold it for me while I made the 45 minute drive over. Once I got there, he was incredibly helpful in deterring which size was the right fit for me and let test ride the bike as much as needed. He then made some great suggestions as far as accessories go and they tuned up my new bike for free before I left.Great service, great shop, and an overall great experience. Let's play out a scenario for a moment......................... You're able bodied and you break both your legs, you're rushed to the E.R. and you meet your Dr. He explains to you that he isn't going to help you today, but if you come back tomorrow, he'd gladly assist you then. How would you feel? Would you be understanding? Would you be okay with the outcome or would you be truly upset on how you were treated? I'm guessing like anyone would be... LIVID & demand to be helped.. This past Saturday, I visited a bike shop in Conyers, GA. I went in around 4pm and asked if they could put new tires on my chair for me just like I have done for years with this place. But, Saturday was different. The first guy basically said "No. It's almost time to close. We close at 5pm. Plus, they are a pain to put on!" Then he walks away. I was unsure if he was coming back to help. Then someone else offered to do it. Within 30 minutes or so, done. I paid and left. I arrived home to see the right tire was not put on well and the tire was coming off the rim. I took it easy Sunday with it to know that I'd go in Monday as soon as they opened to fix it. I arrive at the shop this morning right before 11am. I call and explain what happened and asked if he'd come out to the car and take it in to repair as I was afraid to push on it in fear of it busting before it could be repaired...."No! Not today, we are closed!" Mind you, website said open and door said open at 11am. I expain that it was my only way of getting around and then he said, if you can come back tomorrow, he could fix it. Now, he was within, 10 yards from his phone in the store (which said open at 11) to me in my car.. I explained again that I was paralyzed and this was my only source of getting around. Needless to say he didn't care.. I am upset that a little bit of empathy and kindness couldn't be extended. Sometimes slow down and listen to what others are saying. As a man who's only transportation is his chair, we, as in not able-bodied individuals rely on services to help us. It's to bad that C-Town Bikes could not and has forever lost my business. read more

This is the second time in 6 months that Drove over to CTown for a front derailleur adjustment. The problem with the derailleur is my mechanic, me. I tinker with it and manage to screw it up royally. This is also the second time the folks at CTown immediately put my bike on a stand, made the necessary adjustments and sent me away with a fully functional bike. I am not saying that you should expect an immediate repair when you go to CTown. I am saying that the excellent customer service, the expert workmanship, their friendliness and their apparent love of bicycles is a hard combination to beat. Wow, where to start.... I picked up a Trek Marlin 6 earlier this month so I could find an enjoyable exercise to train for a Kilimanjaro trip. This is my first performance bike. The bike is fabulous. It has met and exceeded my expectations. I still plan to take it off-road at the Georgia International Horse Park Mountain Bike Trail. As far as the service at C-Town bikes, superb. 1 star is not good enough, half a star would do it justice. .... Today I walked into C-town bike really excited about getting a new bicycle. I was not greeted nor did anyone ask if I needed any assistance. I stood in line for a moment and patiently waited. I stepped out of line to look around, just to see if the bike I found on their website was visible. I circled around the bikes and saw that the line died down. I walked to the help desk and the gentleman that was standing there was fidgeting with a receipt to put into a job ticket envelope. He looked me up and down then turned away. Brand new rider here, just started last week! Took my bike here and was not disappointed. The staff were courteous and honest. I came in with the intention of getting a basic tune up on my bike that I purchased off craigslist, the manager told me I didn't need to bother doing that and just charged me $10 to do a couple of things to it. I ended up taking that money i intended on spending anyway and bought pedals and grips from him instead of buying online like I was planning. I'll be bringing my bike back here for sure! read more

I strongly advise you to avoid shopping at C Town Bikes. It is bad when employees are rude, but it is extremely unacceptable when the Manager/owner is the one that is rude & unprofessional, as is the owner Al Smith with C Town Bikes. As a salesman, Al does a good job, but if an item it back ordered or being specially ordered, he is absolutely horrible!!! Once he makes the sale, he is done with you! My experience started really well, however, it turned awful. Al was great at selling me & my husband a bike that had to be ordered on August 3, 2020. He gave an estimated arrival date of the end of August 2020. By September 5th, we hadn't heard anything from Al on the status of the bike. I sent an email (Sat) inquiring about the status of the bike. Al responded via email that they were closed and with the Labor Day holiday they would be back open on Tuesday, September 8th. He noted that he would "email and/or call with an update." I never received that update. On Saturday, September 12th, I called C Town Bikes to inquire about the status. I spoke with Al and noted that he failed to give me an update as he promised. He was not apologetic and try to make it seem like it was my fault. Al alleged that he attempted to send me an email using the original email thread from the 5th, but the email bounced back to him saying that it was undeliverable because the email didn't exist. I noted that I received his email about the store holiday closure, how would it be possible that the email about the bike status would not be able to locate my email address, especially if he used the original email thread? I was absolutely disgusted by Al's response, he had the nerve to tell me, "I don't know, I'm not IT!" Really?!? Is that the way you speak to a customer that purchased a $580+ bike over a month ago and does not yet have their item and you've failed to update them on the status? I personally doubt he sent the update email in the first place, but even if I give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that his email is able to selectively choose which emails get sent, he is acknowledging that he knew I didn't get the bike status update (he said it bounced back). Yet, he failed to follow it up with a call to me or my husband. Moreover, Al had my husband's email address & he failed to reach out to my husband. So it seems that when the alleged email (wink wink) bounced back, he said 'oh well!' Either way, he is clearly only concerned about making a sale and not valuing his customers. In the midst of a pandemic that has caused so many businesses to close, it's unacceptable and ashamed that a business owner would not appreciate people that choose to patronize his business. This was my first time shopping at C Town Bikes and I will not be back. I quickly got a refund and I will take my money to buy a bike at a place that values their customers. read more

The woman we dealt with was very polite and helpful. We initially didn't buy anything but she went so far as to give us a personal list of bike trails to use which we loved in regards to customer service. Their location is great we just wish the city/county would let them get better signage. I ordered a bike from them and can't wait to get it for my kid. I'll be buying my other bikes from this location in the future, its worth the wait for the customer service they provide. read more
