At 50 years of age, I have started a new hobby - guns. I had not shot a gun since 10 years old as I have busy with other hobbies. During the last year, I have taken their 100 and 200 series of classes for both pistols and rifles to get myself reacquainted with the handling of guns. I also have been dragging my wife alone to those classes. In short, C2 has been a great place for me to start a new hobby. From the classes to the memberships to purchasing a few 9 mm pistols and an AR15, C2 Tactical has been awesome. Only one area of improvement- their ability to work with customers during peak hours - they always seem flustered at this point and they lose their normal strong customer relationship DNA. The management team needs to focus here either by changing class schedules or procedures, changing staffing models, etc read more

C2 tactical demonstrated nothing but absolute professionalism in every aspect. We were all new to shooting guns and they did everything to accommodate us and provide gun education and techniques. Justin did an outstanding job helping to give me tips and provide me with some drills to do in order to better aim. I highly recommend him to help with some tips and friendly conversation. Todd, was absolutely tremendous as well. My nephew did not enjoy himself due to being s little afraid, but Todd took him to a simulator room to help educate him and give him some instruction using a simulator gun. I've been coming here for a couple years now and I really like the place but recently I've been trying to get more involved with their classes. It seems like they struggle sometimes to assemble classes but they do work very hard to accommodate shooters for all their needs. I am finally leaving a review of C2 Tactical (Tempe) after a great experience in their R200 class on Friday evening. The scheduled instructor was not able to show for some reason so they had Sean step in on short notice and teach his first tactical carbine course - he is a good dude and he knocked it out of the park. I had a great time, learned a lot and made tangible improvements. I look forward to R300 sometime and hope Sean considers teaching more tactical carbine. My boyfriend and I went in today for our date night package, Todd was our instructor and it was a great experience. A little pricey, but Todd was amazing he was there the whole time, correcting us and giving tips all the while staying light hearted. Today was my first time at C2 Tactical. I was hoping I would have a better experience than I did at one of the other ranges in Queen Creek. The difference was like night and day. It was crowded but we had made reservations (highly recommended on the weekend) so we were happily given a lane. The man at the counter was very helpfull and pleasant. When we went into the shooting lanes they were very helpfull and polite there too. I needed to remove my red dot sight from my firearm and mentioned to my brother that I forgot my allen wrench to take it off and an employee rushed over to help. he brought me the tool I needed and seemed genuinely happy to help out. When we were done my brother needed to speak to the gunsmith and he was also very helpfull and friendly. Out in the store I stopped at the knife counter and a young man asked if he could show me anything. He was very helpfull also and I mentioned to him that I was very impressed at how helpfull and friendly everyone there was and he said that they pride themselves on friendly customer service. It shows. While I was there I saw several women getting personalized instruction with very patient and friendly instructors. The bottom line is if you want great service and a friendly atmosphere don't settle for places like Teds. Go here especially if you are new and might feel a little awkward getting into the sport. BE CAREFUL HERE! I took a my girlfriend here; HUGE mistake. It costs OVER $200.00 for two people to shoot for ONE HOUR!!! And, they charged her credit card TWICE when she only signed ONCE. We got a bill for almost $110 while we were there. We thought that cost included the three gun rentals (for one hour) AND the Lane Charge AND the Bullets. My girlfriend signed the receipt for the $110 charge. Then, the next day, she gets charged almost $100 for ammo. WHAT?!?!? We were given only three boxes of ammo...that means each box of ammo was almost $35; and, the ammo was just standard FMJ bullets...nothing special. On top of that; they nickle-and-dime every little thing there. I wondered why nothing was itemized on the receipt we got. Now, I know! Another problem: They like to treat you as if you are an idiot and don't know what you're talking about. I pointed out how one of their firearms wasn't shooting straight (I've been shooting since I was 5 years old and am a pretty crack-shot); the guy just acted nonchalantly about it; basically, ignoring my concern. Stay away from this place. Just make the drive out to a shooting range in the desert. You will have more fun and it will be A LOT cheaper (even with the cost of gas and time and snacks and drinks and safety equipment considered). When they first opened, they were great. All the employees were eager to help, answer questions, and chat about guns. Now, it almost seems like you are a burden when asking a question. The service has gone downhill in the front. It's just a cluster by the registers trying to check in or out of the range, no order at all. The people behind the counter often seem flustered. Last time I went it took 15 minutes just to check out after my hour on the range, and because of the extra time it took, they tried to charge me extra for additional range time. If they could fix the problems with the front staff, I could give this place 5 stars. The range officers are still amazing. They are always willing to help with a jam or assist with your stance. They've helped me get better groupings by working with me on my breathing and helping me not anticipate my shot. read more

For an indoor Range, C2 is about as good as it gets here in the Valley. The staff is friendly most days (although anyone can occasionally have a bad day) and will help newbies and grizzled veterans with equal enthusiasm. The place is terribly busy on most weekends, so keep that in mind when showing up without a reservation; the wait times can be long to get a lane. I would like to see them move away from the clothespins on the lines and purchase the metal target holders instead. I think that would add a nice touch to the place. Prices on most items are fair enough for a shop that offers a Range, firearms and multiple accessories. Costs for such places tend to typically run higher than most brick-and-mortar gun shops simply because of insurance and the accompanying costs associated with liability, etc. Bearing that in mind, I will say they do a decent job of pricing their items as competitively as possible. Finally, I would have to give C2 the nod for intangibles, such as a ample parking, and a quality location where nearby shops exist for those family members, who may not be into the whole Range and gun store shtick, are available for them to do their thing while you spend some time doing yours. read more

Having worked in the industry and know how important customer service is I figured I would be greeted right away but when I walked in NOT ONE person greeted me. There were 2 people at the rental counter, one at the counter working the long guns and 2 people working the gun counter. Then the front counter girl never acknowledged me as well, even after walking around the island twice. And no the place was not busy either. Maybe 5-7 customers in the main area. First let me say I did end up joining as a member. Its a convenient location, nice, new and not very busy so it makes for a good experience. I am also a member of Scottsdale Gun Club and shoot there as well. Although C2 is newer and brighter there are a few things that keep Scottsdale as my #1 range. First C2 requires you buy their targets - not a huge deal but I am not a big fan of their big targets and don't really like not having a cardboard backer - but its a minor issue. Second, C2 doesn't seem to want to let shooters do anything but shoot at stationary targets from the ready positon. Scottsdale will allow tactical positions and draw from holster once you pass their requirements (class or test with a staffer). That makes for a better shooting experience if you are a regular shooter that carries daily and wants to maintain proficiency in drawing and firing. Lastly - ammo prices. I don't understand C2's strategy on ammo pricing at all. A range is usually the least expensive place to buy ammo. Ranges want you to shoot and shoot a lot and their business model requires that. Scottsdale Gun Club ammo (for range use) is MUCH cheaper than any retail shop (particularly for members). C2 is the exact opposite - ammo prices are at least 40% over what you can buy it for at retail shops in the area (although availability is bit of a problem at retail stores - ammo can be purchased at reasonable prices if you shop around and do a bit of legwork). Here are some examples of member pricing. 5.56 - 20 round boxes are currently $19.99 at C2 $9.89 at Scottsdale 40S&W is $20.99 at C2 $17.99 at Scottsdale 9MM $19.99 at C2 $13.97 at Scottsdale Not a huge deal if you shoot a box a month - but me and my friends shoot 5-10 boxes each a week. If you are a regular shooter thus likely a member - the pricing difference is substantial. For location, looks etc. 5 stars, ammo pricing 1 star so 3 star average. UPDATE So I been back another half dozen times and really like the staff and the range is just killer. My wife likes how bright it is and the benches in the range area are nice! But C2 keeps doing it wrong on pricing. Since my post ammo prices at C2 have gone UP, considerably, 40S&W is now over $30 a box, 9mm reloads? (in ziploc bags) are $25 while at the same time stock has been resupplied at local retailers and prices have plummeted. In addition I was in the market for a new carry pistol and really wanted an M&P Shield in 40 S&W, C2 had one for $529. That seemed high to me so I drove up to Scottsdale and got the same gun for $449. Love to shoot here - but would never buy anything other than the mandatory targets. So because of the obscene ammo and gun prices I gotta drop to a 2 star rating 5 for appearance 0 for pricing. read more

Sorry to say this just isn't the best place to go despite outstanding facilities. Large pro shop, many lanes, semi easy location to get to but the value for dollar and people you need to deal with are not there. The range "masters" are toe a line between black water reject and call of duty fan boy. In every way they speak or interact with you (and your weapons) you will feel like you are treated like an inept child who has only seen guns in movies. Want to preach range safety? Sure. Wanna inspect my rifles to make sure the action is clear? Yeah I guess. Won't let me holster my weapon on the wrong side of the yellow line? Your house your rules. But several things bothered me when those charged with range safety were actor out. One guy was so bored that he took his "tacti-cool" knife out of his billet proof vest and started flicking the blade in and out of closure while not looking down range. Why in he hell are you carrying a side arm in a quick release and have a vest on? See a lot of combat in Tempe? A second one had a pistol (not holstered" stuffed in the waist band of his jeans, where one small movement could get your ding dong shot off. While clowns like this usually show up at gun ranges looking like they desperately hope to fight zombies in Afghanistan, that type of ridiculous behavior is usually reserved for shooters and not employees. Bad form on a range that employs the very people that safety courses warm you about. Pro shop is also over priced to the tune of double digit percentage points. Wanted to look at a sig for my lady and it turned out to be 400 dollars over what any other store had them listed at. Also went in looking for several accessories and parts only to learn "oh we are out" or "we can order them". Is this a place to rent a gun on a weekend or to go for a bachelorette party? Yes. It is not the place to go if you wish to be respect as a competent adult around the call of duty crowd, nor a place that is very affordable. After 4 trips, each more negative than the last, i don't think I need to go back again. read more

First let me say im former US Army Infantry. The guys here are just super over the top. All acting like they are about to head into combat and couldn't be more uptight. Bullet Proof vests and everyone has a sidearm. WHY? We went all the way down there to shoot at 5pm on a Thursday night only to be told we should have called first because the whole place was rented by some corporation. Ok so we decided to do some shopping. The selection of accessories is pretty bad here. They literally had 2 scopes. Trying to get the guys to be cool was a bit of a task, they all act like on duty police officers or bouncers. Not a fan of this at a gun range!!! Get over yourselves. The only upside I saw was the pricing on their box ammunition. Decent prices. Tried to look at a couple guns, 10 mins after standing there i managed to get a guy to help me. Asked to see an M&P Shield "sorry dont have it". Asked to see a Sig P938 "sorry don't have it". Left. Another couple asked if we wanted to go shooting a week later and said they want to check it out. I said fine, go ahead and see when their ladies night is. NO LADIES NIGHT. PASS!!! We will keep going to Caswells, Teds or Shooters World. The staff is down to earth. read more

They have nice facilities, but large prices. The front desk staff all think they have the worlds best gun training, and are far superior to anyone that walks in that store. Everyone better kiss their feet because no one could possibly have more training than the 8 hour class they went through, if that. As for the range masters I had when I was there, one was young, cocky, and texted the whole time.... hmmmmm should "range masters" really be texting? Especially the entire time? The other range master wasn't cocky, was informative, and friendly. Making that one out of three employees I dealt with that were actually worth anything. read more

We came in their establishment to spend OUR money and we were treated like animals. We came in there at 6 an hour away from close, we weren't spoken to until 6:25 and they told us that we still had to pay the full hour because they don't do that when another cashier had just told their caucasian customer his time would be comped and he was ready to go. I bounce between here and Caswell's for the most part. C2 is a good range, they are pretty much a bigger version of Caswells with a face lift. But also because of that face lift the amount of people that frequent C2 is unreal. I have never walked in and got a lane. They always recommend calling ahead for a lane which I understand. If you are looking for a place to get in and out of in a hurry this is not the place, if you want to bring a date here this would be better. Also the range masters are a bit over bearing. I'm all for having a quick chat and them asking what I'm shooting and things like that. But we had one guy who just wouldn't leave me and my girlfriend alone. Telling us to hit certain parts of the target and what not. I realize he was trying to make it fun, but I was trying to spend quality time with my girlfriend, not him. read more

It's hard to put the experience into words, but the feeling I got when first walking into C2 was like walking into a salon or Robb & Stucky (when they were still around). Well lit, organized, clean, and full of merchandise, I felt like this was what SGC could have been. I already knew this was the "West-side Caswell's", but I was not expecting it to be so nice. I was wrong, and happy about it. I was greeted immediately by the nicest gal (Gina? Gena?), and she introduced me to the concept of the store and what I could expect as a casual shooter. They have classes, ranges, rentals, a video simulator, all manner of firearms (handguns, rifles, NFA), accessories, and ammo. I know about their memberships from the Mesa Caswell's experience, but this is the place to hold your membership - the ranges are SOOO clean and organized, and the range officers are like instructors - so friendly! It's easy to drop off the wife/kids at IKEA when visiting there, but this is a family-friendly environment, so I feel comfortable recommending a visit by anyone. Some of the biggie's for me: - Clean ranges with a good selection of targets - Ability to shoot larger-caliber rifles - Rentals of stuff I can't afford, like full-auto AR's and suppressed handguns - Reasonable pricing on ammo (required using their range) - They buy & sell, and have a pretty decent selection of used guns - Affordable CCW and self-defense classes Free advice: If you have a spouse or mom or sister that thinks guns are intimidating, then this is the place you want to take them to overcome those fears and avoid the typical "gun store stare". So i called C2 tactical, spoke to someone on the phone (young girl) to find out the class 3 transfer fee. I was told it is $75. So i ordered a suppressor, had it transferred to C2 on a form 3. A few weeks go by and i call and speak to a manager, he also says the transfer fee is $75. So my suppressor gets there, a guy calls me to inform that it arrived a week ago, and the transfer fee is $100 unless you buy a membership. They also want me to drop my trust paperwork off with them so they can do the paperwork and then have me drive back there to sign the paperwork. At the same time i would pay the $200 ATF tax fee. And pay C2 tactical the $100 ffl transfer fee. Im not happy about the $100 transfer fee, but it will be the first and last $100 C2 will get from me so i see it as a small price to pay to see how they operate. read more

I'm very ignorant to buying firearms and was very intimidated in every other gun store I went to. There was none of that here!! SUPER friendly and knowledgeable staff! They did not try to pressure me and they spent a lot of time showing me any gun I inquired about. I was able to try out as many guns as I wanted, just had to pay for ammo. In their kick ass indoor range the Range Safety Officers were friendly, helpful and kept the area clean of brass. They even helped me open a pain in the butt box of Federal Hollow point ammo, which broke the tip of one of their personal knives. I ended up purchasing a used gun that was a great deal! Definitely recommend going to these guys if you're not a seasoned gun shopper. Unlike the other stores that have been around forever this staff doesn't treat you like their doing you a favor selling you a gun, or keep you waiting forever like Bass Pro. read more

I arrived to a clean store... Good selection... That's the only reason for the 2 star review. It was my first time, I asked to be pointed in the direction of the range. I walked up to the representative and was advised that the range was closed. It was 518 on a Sunday. Published hours stated a 6pm closing time. I was expecting a half an hour of range time. The rep stated that he asked 3 min prior if there was anyone wanting to stay. It left a bad taste being turned away with 45 min and the "oh you're 3 min late." Especially when no where reflects a 45 min last call for "cleaning." I may decide to go back. Though I hope either the website is updated to reflect the correct hours. read more

From helping us make our selections to assisting us in the range, he was just fun to hang out with. Not to mention very knowledgeable and made us very comfortable. I am shopping for a smaller hand gun. My son and daughter in law took me to C2 Tactical. I was not impressed at all. Not a friendly atmosphere at all. I use mask and practice social distance. No one behind counter wore mask and the few people in the place got really close. If people working at this place don't care about their own health so be it but they should use mask to protect their customers. I won't spend a dime in this place. read more

We visited C2 tactical for the first time on Father's Day. Both of my daughters had never fired a weapon my 16-year old was extremely nervous. The Lane instructor was so awesome. He provided assistance, instruction and reassurance to her while assuring 100% safety. I was genuinely pleased with how professional and caring he was to her without judgment of her fear of firing a weapon. He did not pressure her but he was patient and encouraging. She wanted to participate so badly and finally was able to fire at her target. This was a great experience and a personal victory for my daughter. I would definitely recommend C2 tactical for their professional conduct and safety even when dealing with younger populations. It is a great range, great facility, with lots of friendly folks. The retail store has tons of inventory, but is pretty over-priced on a lot of items. The accessory prices are typically OK, but the gun and ammo prices are more than a little high. The group memberships are a bargain, but the individual ones, again ... are a bit too expensive. The Range Officers are first rate - knowledgeable and friendly, but still enforce the policies. If there are problems, they will help you work through them. Having a gunsmith on-site is handy, but I've never used them. The classes are great, as well. I've taken the Pistol 200-500 classes and they were time and money well spent, with professional instructors who made the whole process fun and interesting. The Wednesday night matches are fun and a good intro to competition type shooting like IDPA/USPSA, although not nearly as formal. I see some reviews bashing the employees dress and the RO's vests. The dress is basically a uniform (khaki Tac-lite pants and a C2 polo) and I would bet the vests on the RO's has something to do with insurance premiums, as does the sign on the door. I also saw a review complaining about the employees carrying guns ... ummm ... they do at every gun shop I have ever visited. A gun shop would be a great target for robbery if nobody was armed, just saying' read more
