Lao Papaya Salad (Thum Mak Hoong)

This place looks like a hole in the wall on the outside but once you entered the front door, it opened up into a cool restaurant with modern and cool vibes! I have heard good things about this place so we decided to uo check it out and we were not disappointed! It was pretty empty when we went for lunch on a Sunday but that's because it seems the time to be there is in the evenings when they have different entertainment for different nights: comedy night, karaoke and special events etc. The place has a cool club/lounge vibes (hence the name i suppose). Modern, cool Thai music and big, open space. The lady server was nice and greeted us when we entered. We were seated right away cuz we were the only ones there. We ordered the: 1. one of each of the grilled skewers except for the beef sticks (they ran out feom the night before). The baby octopus, squid, pork and meatballs had really nice grilled flavors and quite tasty. The dipping sauce (jeow) that came with it was too salty for us so we did not enjoy that. Other than that. the skewers were delicious, esp the squid which was tender and not chewy. 2. Lao beef jerky: very flavorful and delicious. You can taste the lemongrass and spices . Definitely would order this again. 3. Beef larb with 2 thai chilis as rhe spice level: It was not hot at all and needed some tartness to it which was taken care of after we asked for some lemon and lime to add to it. It was good but I would have liked it to be more authentic in flavors cuz it was a little mild for me. But it was still very good! 3. Lao papaya salad: This was flavorful andI wished I went higher in spice level cuz 2 thai chilis were just not cutting it. The flavors are outstanding and quite authentic. We really enjoyed this too and really liked the shrimp chips that came with it. It was presented quite cutely too. 3. We ordered 2 orders of sticky rice cuz they were on the smaller side. Their desserts look good too but my diabetes would not appreciate it so I stuck to 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. I wish they would consider adding coconut ice cream to their selection cuz that would finish off the meal wonderfully. The scoop is also on a smaller side, so don't expect much for $3/scoop sadly. Overall, the meal was superb in flavors. We finished everything although their portions were just enough for 2 people and their prices are reasonable! We would come back here again cuz I think their flavors are very on point as far as Lao flavors. My Lao wife gave her seal of approval and she is already looking forward to coming back again!

It seems like a quiet business from outside but once you go inside it's a whole different story! This place is huge! It's packed full of tv screens, stage, booths, bar and tables. It's a really fun lounge to go to with friends. My girlfriend's and I attended events here. They have special performers, karaoke, dance floor and that's beside the yummy food! Friday and her crew are friendly and welcoming. Thanks for the warm welcome Friday! During a special event, they had girls walk around serving 100 shots! Yep! That's right! The drinks are readonably priced. I recommend bottle service for special occasions. C3 serves authentic Laos & Thai food. The first time we met with friends and ordered the papaya salad party tray which came with grilled pork, grill chicken wings, grilled Lao sausages, noodles and 2 small bags of rice, and 2 dipping sauces. I recommend at least 4 bags of rice for a party platter of this size. After all it's meant to be shared. I also recommend the Pandan thai tea which is just like thai tea but green and has a floral flavor to it. Delicious! My gf ordered khao poon which is a chicken curry noodle soup. I love their grilled pork riblets! A must have. I look forward to coming back here again and again

Authentic Laotian food. Great service. Affordable prices. Cozy, club feel ambience. Visited this place during the last Las Vegas trip. There are a few Laotian restaurants in Las Vegas, but I'd have to say I enjoyed this one the most. Dishes are very authentic (and spicy if you're ready for that kick). What sets this place above the others is the owner and employees. They are super friendly and welcoming.

Keeping with the seafood boil, now they have added Thai and Laos food. We ordered chicken pad Thai and Cucumber salad. The pad Thai was very good. The salty baby crabs that were supposed to come with the cucumber salad was actually only a single crab, and not really edible. After pointing out the plural sense of "crabs" in the menu, they did bring two more. However, that means there were two more crabs that were inedible. Otherwise, the cucumber salad was very good. Televisions all over the place showing sports and other things. Big bar inside. Big gigantic TV inside. Simple bar style decorations. Friendly service.

This place is a must visit and don't knock it till you try it. We came here for lunch as soon as they opened and so glad we did. Shout out to Chef Richard and Linda our server for providing us the best experience. The food was phenomenal and this place is massive with a full bar, a stage for performances, they have karaoke and hosts big parties for special events. Can't wait to go back!!

Review 60/365 challenge Came here on a Saturday night, MDW 05.23.25 Brought my mama friend to try some scrumptious Laos food. Love how it's Laos food, . I prefer Asian food especially my mother land type of food. They offer Laos street food along with seafood boil menu offerings. A whole shebang combo eatery restaurant. What we ordered ~ # 19 Crispy Rice Wrap-Nam Khao $ 16.99 is an appetizer must have. Love the aromic herbs along w the fermented pork & the crispy rice crunch.. Recommended, it's a known Laos dish. Enjoy it with the lettuce, as a lettuce wrap entree. ~ C3 seafood boil was a great size to be shared. It's a combination of all the goodness in a platter. The seasoning was really yummy and seafood was fresh. It comes with fries. ~ the different Laos street food skewers were a hit for my kids. It's enjoying along w sticky rice. ~ beer Lao is refreshing. Give it a try. I'm not a fan of beer but on a hot day. Definitely hit the spot. They have an entire full bar with other great alcohol selections. Service was friendly, great and received our items/food in a timely manner. I didn't get to order the papaya salad since only I'll be the one eating it. I love Laos style papaya salad and i know it can be too pungent for my Korean mama friend i brought. Or I'd definitely would've ordered the papaya salad experience at my table. It's a performance with the associate roll a cart & making the actual salad & serving to you. Pretty cool I've seen on their Facebook. Restaurant is pretty big and spacious. Great for night time scene with a lounge area along big screen projector. Loving the white linen, pops up at night. Have some cool lighting. They have some nights where there's live entertainment or Karaoke nights. Follow them on social media for any upcoming events. They offer private party for booking events. Parking is huge. Located next to some type of medical office.. I'll definitely be back for some yummy Laos Khao poon along w Laos food fix with my next future visit to Las Vegas. A must visit when in sin city. Not too far from the strip.

Please go support them! Great food & service. Visiting from out of state. 2nd time back, the first time everything was amazing (group of 6 on a saturday at 5pm - we had the whole place to ourselves) - got (4) lao papaya salads (so good!), thai papaya salad (so-so), the papaya platter - good variety, salmon larb & raw beef larb - perfection, (2) kopia noodles - the best Ive had in a long time anywhere besides Minnesota Hmong Village, pad krao pao - best Ive had - most are too sweet, drunken noodle - was ok - the only thing we didn't like was the kapoon, seafood salad & thai tea & lao coffees - too sweet for us but if thats your thing- this is perfect. 2nd time ordered pad kra pao- just as good as the first, raw beef larb - juicier & better than I remembered, got some grilled baby octopus I liked it by itself, the jeow all 3 was too sweet for us but thats cuz we like more sour & savory. We also got the lao papaya but this time it was a miss... first bite was good but then the more I ate it, it was missing something, was able to get sugar & limes to doctor it up, but still just blah, hope they can keep up with consistency all across the board, thats what will keep me coming back. But otherwise the great service & will come try again the next time we are back!

04/12/2025 - Lucky 7 Platter with Lao Papaya Salad $49.99

C3 Kitchen & Lounge is such an interesting space. It's a full-service restaurant but also is a lounge/entertainment space in the evening. The restaurant serves up Thai & Laotian food but also has a seafood boil section. I tried calling ahead to make reservations, but no one answered the phone. We arrived with a party of 12 and they were able to put some tables together for us. (The music was pretty loud inside, which is probably why they couldn't hear the phone.) This is what I mostly tried: * Lucky 7 Platter $49.99 - Lao Papaya Salad, C3 Wings, Lao Sausage, Riblets, Nam, Pork Loaf, Vermicelli Noodles, Veggies, Sticky Rice, Shrimp Chips and Lao Dipping Sauces. It's a pretty presentation with everything laid out on a giant platter. Perfect for two, or maybe three to share. The Lao Sausage was my favorite of this platter. It was super flavorful. We chose the Lao Papaya Salad with salted baby crabs as our Thum choice. There wasn't quite enough crab flavor and only one little crab sitting on top. Out of all the Lao Dipping Sauces, the Lao Jeow King was our favorite as it's the ginger one. * Fried Shrimp Heads $7.99 - These were eaten up quite quickly. * Fried Calamari $12.99 - These also were enjoyed. * Fried Pork Belly $12.99 - The majority of everyone in our large party ordered this dish, some even ordering another round. They all enjoyed it. On our next visit, I would probably focus more on actual specific dishes. I appreciated the variety of the platter but now know what I like on it so would just order those a la carte. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. She gave us her recommendations when asked and was just such a pleasant person. There were some dishes that took a little longer than others and we had to remind the kitchen. As it was mostly just the one waitress working, we did have to get up a couple of times to request a few things. There were some other dining parties on that Saturday afternoon. I really appreciated that they were able to do separate checks as we had five different families dining together. We let the waitress know ahead of time, so she can take the orders all separately.

The spot for Lao food ! We walked in with a warm welcoming from the staff the ambiance of the place was casual with good vibes, spacious, clean and organized. The staff was amazing and of the course the food was delicious! There is a bar with entertainment definitely a place we would come back to!

Fried chicken wings, very light, crispy and juicy. Had more pieces but was too good so forgot to take a photo before eating.lol

Ordered the chicken wings, fried pork belly and Laos sausage. Didn't try the Laos sausage since I don't do spicy but people I was with said it was very good. The pork belly and chicken wings are good. Fried just right and very juicy. Restaurant is bigger than it looks. Huge place and very lively vibe inside. I can see this place is good for hosting events. I got to speak to the owners and chef and this restaurant is a labor of love. Everything is made in-house and is family owned and ran. Love supporting local businesses and I hope this place does well.

FINALLY...got to try this new Lao restaurant and it was good! It was a drive for us but this has been on my Yelp list since they opened. The ambiance is setup like a lounge/bar! There is so many options for the space and how they have it setup. Our waitress mentioned the bar just opened and will be selling cocktails as well. I'm not a drinker so this review is not about that. The food was good! Portions are shareable and come with plenty. Hubby and I had a lot to take home. The food is very affordable, which I love! Highly recommend the Lucky 7 Platter! It comes with everything! A breakdown is in the menu I posted. The sauces that come with the dish is BOMB! The Kapoon was a special menu item! So happy they had it when I went bc it's my FAVORITE! It reminds me of my mother in law's recipe! Just wish they had more veggies! Overall we had a great time and experience! Food was good! Only recommendation.. I wish they had more Lao soup dishes. But that could come in time! I would definitely go back to try more!

We just happened to drop in on this place because we attempted to go to the brunch spot across the lot and we couldn't get in without a reservation. Lucky for us, we found this lounge. Our server was awesome! We were in Vegas to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. It came up in conversation and our server kept it in mind. Later after we ate, the staff did a special shout out to my mom and sang happy birthday to her and brought out a birthday dessert! Such a pleasant surprise. We all loved it! The food was great! Nice healthy portions and yummy! I would definitely come back when I'm visiting again!

Tried this spot out last night and went for the platter that had a little bit of everything - papaya salad, fried pork, fried chicken, fermented pork, steamed pork, and grilled meatballs. The papaya salad was at spice level 7 and it hit just right, though it was a little sour. The fried pork was tasty too, though the fried pork came out raw inside. As soon as I let the waitress know, she was super quick, kind, and brought out a fresh one right away. Service was really sweet and attentive, which I appreciated. The restaurant serves more of beer food.

The atmosphere inside is simply top notch, its themed head to toe and for me personally, I always love a place that's well themed. We went in without a reservation and they managed to squeeze us into a table, we were served by a very friendly waitress who had good recommendations and was overall very attentive. The drinks were all good, and thankfully they have non-alcoholic versions for many of their drinks. No complaints on any of them, they were exactly what we were looking for. I will say the prices are a little steep, but this isn't someplace you are likely to come to on a regular basis, so I can excuse it. (And if you do like the vibe and come often, you can always get non tiki drinks cheaper.) Overall very very fun, wish we had come a little later because their was a band that was setting up and got maybe three songs in before we left, but they sounded pretty good!

I would say that the pizza is good, not great, but good. I got a pepperoni pizza. Ordering drinks - you go straight to the bar. The bartenders are all SUPER friendly! Note that it is significantly less expensive to go on a Sunday or M-W than a Thurs/Fri/Sat would be... When I was there, they were very strict about their no photos policy. A few people in the club took their phones out on occasion, but it was nice to be mostly distraction free. The people I saw attempt to take photos were reminded of the policy and forced to delete the photos. I watched it happen twice... The security was locked in this night- Huge security staff and everyone could see them enforcing policies. The bottle service was great. Expensive, of course, but you know you're paying for that. Our server was so kind and accommodating. The busser was incredibly attentive. We got a bottle of rosé and a few cocktails. The cocktails were delicious and quite unique. Lon the Don was my favorite. The live music was incredible! A lot of talent and a wide variety of songs. The energy was electric. The DJ between live sets was great too, he really kept the hype going. This club is worth the hype and the splurge.

The venue itself is beautifully designed, with a more intimate, sophisticated feel compared to larger Las Vegas clubs. It's a great option if you're looking for something stylish with a strong music and ambiance focus. The overall vibe is smooth and elevated -- great music, well-dressed crowd, and an atmosphere that feels exclusive without being overwhelming. One thing worth noting is the camera policy. The venue emphasizes a no-camera experience, which I understand is meant to maintain privacy and keep the focus on the moment. However, I did notice a few cameras out and about during the night, which made the policy feel a bit inconsistent. Not a major issue, but something that stood out. Overall, it's a great spot for a more refined night out in Las Vegas. I had an enjoyable experience and would definitely return.

Firstly, if you've ever fancied a bar that is within a multi-level glass chandelier, say no more! The ambiance is luxuriously extravagant no doubt, with the beautifully designed chandelier glowing off a tranquil purple. You feel as if you've transported to another world. Now, as for the drinks, I have to be completely honest: they fall flat of the wonderful atmosphere. We ordered a new menu margarita drink with a unique type of minty flower meant to enhance the drink and it had an unusual effect nonetheless, one we weren't the largest fans of unfortunately. At $25 a drink poured in a glass 2/3 filled with ice, I'm not sure how worth this truly was. The Raspberry Reminiscing was decent in flavor with an abundance of sweetness but quite limited in volume. Both drinks seemed super watered down so don't expect to feel the alcohol! My folks who accompanied hardly drink and they even complained about this especially when being charged nearly $30 for a drink. Says a lot in my view! As for the service, it was fairly quick and attentively thorough. My only pet-peeve was I thought the server was a bit judgy and perhaps a bit harsh. I felt as though I was shunned when requesting my go-to IPA at first before she went on describing the new flowery cocktail they offered. Perhaps, management at The Cosmopolitan can take this into account: let the customer order what they're most comfortable with in the future without jumping ahead. All in all, if you're looking for a fancy chandelier for the evening, you've truly got one! A bar? Well, not so certain on that unfortunately. There are PLENTY of better bars along the Vegas Strip with drinks of a lot more umpf and value which will do you MUCH better if that's what you desire.

More please, indeed…read more Mas Por Favor Taqueria y Tequila is a taco shop and speakeasy in the massive and often cramped Center on Spring Mountain strip mall. It's closer to the Valley View end and can actually be easy to park at in the afternoon if you're going for happy hour as I did (available Monday all day, and 3-6pm on other days). I wasn't quite sure where to go so I asked an employee up front about doing happy hour drinks, and he showed me into a long hallway dressed up like a mining tunnel. At the far end was the door into the bar area, which was pretty empty mid-afternoon until some other parties joined me. I sat at the bar and looked over the menu a bit then placed my order. First out was my happy hour cocktail. I chose the Mas Dog 20/20 ($8.00 happy hour)), which sounded like a decent if very fruity gin cocktail and came out pretty sweet and very fruit-forward. Turns out it's inspired by something called MD 20/20, which sounds like malt liquor but for people who need it to be sweet. It was actually pretty decent to sip on but isn't the best match for what I ate, and I ended up squeezing limes into water. The food came out all at once. I really wanted to try the Elotes ($3.00 HH), a delicious creamed corn app topped with crushed Hot Cheetos. It's actually a really addictive dish and one of the most fun bites of the whole thing. I also tried one of each taco available on the current happy hour menu. The two Street Tacos ($3.00 HH) were both solid, with barbacoa serving as the more delicious beef option while the carnitas were actually not as dry as other versions I've had. The mild green salsa and somewhat more medium-ish smoky orange salsa were both great complements to both of these. I enjoyed these, and one of the other tacos, despite the stone cold tortillas they were served on. The two Signature Tacos ($4.00 HH) were a little more dichotomous. I loved the Muy Caliente with its al pastor, chipotle sauce, jack cheese, and Hot Cheetos crumbles. The Gringo, on the other hand, was as boring as or worse than the archetype of the white person taco, with no crispy shell or tomato to help with the monotony. Luckily, I had some lime and salsas to play with, so I wasn't bored to death. I enjoyed the speakeasy area. It wasn't too dim, especially at the bar, and the favorite weapon of the T's in Counter-Strike was on full display behind said bar. There was a mariachi-sounding song being played when I first got in, but they inexplicably moved on to what I later realized was a music video playlist from the top of the aughts, aka my formative years listening to top 40 / pop / hip hop. Quite the nostalgia trip, especially when I later found out that my bartender and the couple who also decided to sit at the bar were from my hometown. I would come back to Mas Por Favor for happy hour, maybe Taco Tuesday, and definitely some of the other interesting signature tacos on their regular menu. It may not be the most comprehensively awesome spot, but it's at least a pretty solid option for eats and drinks.

For food, I've tried both the Taco Tuesday menu and their regular menu. The tacos are a great deal if you're going for the special, but honestly, I keep going back to the burrito bowl. It's filling, flavorful, and feels like the better option if you actually want a full meal. The vibe is fun and perfect for a casual date night or meeting up with friends after work. It can get a little busy, but that's part of the energy. If you're looking for a spot with strong drinks, good food, and a lively atmosphere, this is definitely one to check out. Just don't underestimate those margaritas.
