Imagine if you sold a product that people only needed once every other year! That is the case with Joel who owns this Test-Only Smog Center on the corner of Victory Blvd and N. Hollywood Way in Burbank. Recently, I was having my car repaired next door at Victory Auto Care (Highly Recommend) and Joel mentioned that business was very slow and he was hurting. So I offered to create a Yelp for him. His Smog Station is easily accessible from N. Hollywood Way with plenty of parking and seating if you have any wait time. He's very nice and performs only what is needed for a competitive price. I'll have to call him for more info on his prices and hours. I've been going to him as many times as needed since about 2003. I drove all over Burbank looking for someone who wasn't trying to rip me off and at the time he was about $15 cheaper than his competition in the area. The garages face the alley, so your car is never on the street or in traffic. If you need your car looked at, or an oil change, I highly recommend Victory Auto Care right there in the same building. This guy knows what he's doing. His shop may be small, but it's very clean and organized. His CA Authorized information is in plain sight and he's got his CA Smog Check ID card right next to his computer. I didn't understand what the smog check entailed, but he was very kind in trying to help me understand what the process entailed. Used to love coming here and going to Joel for all my cars to get them smogged. Unfortunately, this place is under new management and all new people. I was here last month and was charged $60 for one truck, yesterday my boyfriends dad came and paid $55. Today when arriving they wanted to charge my boyfriend $90 for the test and $70 to retest if it fails. When explain the guy working, last time we were here we paid $60 he just shrugged and said he was new and these were the prices. So we got on the phone and found another place a couple minutes away that would do it for $68. This place turned into a scam and we'll never be back. I would HIGHLY recommend Sinclair on alameda and lamer. He said it'll be $68. The truck ended up failing and the guy didn't charge us at all and even showed us exactly what to fix. He said come back in a couple of days and he'll do the test again. read more
