We wanted a river view for lunch, and we found it here! Unfortunately it was chilly this day, so we sat inside behind the plastic windbreaker. Already looking forward to returning on a nice day to sit outside. Since it was chilly, I had white chili for lunch and it was one of the better versions I've ever eaten. My date had fish and chips, and it was well done too. The only drawback is the plastic plates and utensils (as others have mentioned.) That's not a deal breaker but come on.... Service and prices were good. View was priceless. And it looks like they have live music on the weekends. I could get into that! read more

This place is a really nice spot on the Ohio River. It's a fun casual place to grab a drink and the atmosphere is great, but the food leaves a little to be desired... The good: Filet Kabobs are tender and perfectly cooked. Fried pickles are unique with a Wasabi Ranch that we loved. The Bad: The rice pilaf and vegetables that come with the filet kabobs are soft and soggy, with no texture to compliment the meat. The shrimp baskets and platters are decent, but come with Fries and "Sweet Baby Rays" sauces and other such packaged food/commissary feel. It's basically bar food pretending to be like you'd get at a beach restaurant. Frozen drinks are great and cocktails are a great pour. Everything we've tried on service recommendation was good, and kid-friendly frozen drinks are available if your kids are like mine and want their own! All of the negatives would be forgiven if the pricing wasn't similar to a vacation beach shack in the tourist traps anywhere on the coast, but I expect more for my money in west Cincinnati. It really is a special location and a fun hang, and there's nothing else like it along the River or anywhere in the greater Cincinnati area. Give it a shout if you like vibe over value. read more

One of my favorite summer dining places because of the service, food and location. It's right on the Ohio river and the ambiance couldn't be better. They have an outdoor deck seating area and a covered area for inclement weather. The menu has a lot of nice selections and the food is very good. The service is fast and courteous. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are more than adequate. Full bar with a nice selection of beers on tap. Free parking in their lot. It's popular so it can get crowded, especially on the weekends. Highly recommended. I had the Spinach Salad ($9) with Grilled Cajun Shrimp ($9) and would definitely order it again but there's lots of other tasty food on the menu including their excellent Fish & Chips ($16). read more

Nothing fancy to see here, but if you're hungry you can eat. Cabana has hangover/bowling alley food. I had the turkey burger , it comes with chips but I went for the fries for the up charge. The wings were like a pre breaded but I requested well done and they were good. The server was spot on and the place got busy quick! It's family friendly and they do not take reservations.( as you can guess) . It's very lax and chill and have volley ball and boat deck pull up. This is a great mid day drink snack stop. read more

Last night was our first time to visit Cabana On The River but it won't be the last. They were super busy, and the wait was extremely long. Our server said it's their first week open this year. The place is pretty amazing though! I ordered the Walking Shrimp Taco Bowl, it was so good. I brought home enough for lunch. Hubs had the steak hoagie - and he said it's potentially the best he's ever had. The bar selection was extensive and they were overwhelmed! The line was long all night. The only thing we did not like, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the guacamole. Possibly the worst I've ever had. No texture, odd green color and no flavor. Yuck. However we will go back! Just not ordering the guacamole. We recommend checking the waitlist on yelp to avoid a long wait. read more

We had a short, disappointing experience, that was unfortunately very much in line with previous reviews reporting atrocious front-of-the-house attitudes. The negotiations with the staff about where we could be seated (either in one of the several open, non-reserved tables nearest the water, or one of the tables farthest from the water) spoiled the mood to the point that we didn't stick around to sample the food. Surprisingly rude and unprofessional, way out of proportion to what seemed to be our innocent and polite request. How is this hostess still employed? Food and drink were very good. However we had an issue where the servers accidently gave our table away (after we'd already been waiting almost an hour) to another party on accident. When brought to their attention they couldn't find a solution other than putting us in the queue further down than we were at the time they gave our table up. The Yelp app extended our already hour + wait to another hour and 20 min wait max. Even with the manager brought over (who I don't think understood that we were removed then put back into the queue again) explained it away to being short on tables/table size (we had 4) etc. That was not cool. Had we not all four stood at the check in counter I do not think they would have gotten us into seating for another hour (but they did find us a table sooner, but it probably extended our wait 30 min). After all that we asked if there was anything they might offer us for the inconvenience (ie appetizer etc) they simply said no. All of that wasn't cool at all. Luckily our server was sweet and the food was great and so we did still enjoy ourselves. We were going to stay for more drinks and listen to music but because of all the issues we moved onto the brewery next door right after eating when we would have simply stayed there and spent more. read more

Five stars for the great view, the wonderful lunch I had with my family and for taking COVID-19 precautions. Cabana on the River has become a family fave, and I can see why. I visited Cabana on Monday for lunch with my mom, sister, toddler son, grandfather and two aunts. One of my aunts was visiting, so we wanted to make an occasion of it. We were able to immediately get a table for all of us, under the pavillion but still with a view of the river. Cabana only has outdoor seating, but I was happy to be by fans and out of the sun. All of the waitresses wore masks, and they were sitting groups far apart from one another. Hat tip to Cabana as well for having guests join the waitlist via the Yelp app so that they can avoid congregating while waiting for a table. We started with drinks -- naturally. The pina colada was my favorite. It just tastes like summer. We also enjoyed the Con Queso and Chips and the Goetta Bites. The Goetta Bites reminded me of cocktail sausages but tasted way better (obviously). And then for my meal I got the fish and chips. The fish was fried perfectly. The breading was crispy and not too thick. The fish was fresh. And the fries had a great seasoning on them. I also got the chicken tenders meal for my son. The tenders were large, and we actually got a couple of meals out of them with the leftovers. While we ate we were able to look out on the river and the trees. It's also not often that we all get to be together. I will definitely remember this lunch for awhile. read more
