Last night was our first time to visit Cabana On The River but it won't be the last. They were super busy, and the wait was extremely long. Our server said it's their first week open this year. The place is pretty amazing though! I ordered the Walking Shrimp Taco Bowl, it was so good. I brought home enough for lunch. Hubs had the steak hoagie - and he said it's potentially the best he's ever had. The bar selection was extensive and they were overwhelmed! The line was long all night. The only thing we did not like, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the guacamole. Possibly the worst I've ever had. No texture, odd green color and no flavor. Yuck. However we will go back! Just not ordering the guacamole. We recommend checking the waitlist on yelp to avoid a long wait. read more

Meh. The food is why I come here: decent burgers, interesting appetizers. The service is what will keep me from returning on anything other than an occasional basis. Early Friday evening, fairly busy, I get it. But our food for a party of three took 40+ minutes to arrive and no one refilled our drinks during that period. We had a short, disappointing experience, that was unfortunately very much in line with previous reviews reporting atrocious front-of-the-house attitudes. The negotiations with the staff about where we could be seated (either in one of the several open, non-reserved tables nearest the water, or one of the tables farthest from the water) spoiled the mood to the point that we didn't stick around to sample the food. Surprisingly rude and unprofessional, way out of proportion to what seemed to be our innocent and polite request. How is this hostess still employed? Food and drink were very good. However we had an issue where the servers accidently gave our table away (after we'd already been waiting almost an hour) to another party on accident. When brought to their attention they couldn't find a solution other than putting us in the queue further down than we were at the time they gave our table up. The Yelp app extended our already hour + wait to another hour and 20 min wait max. Even with the manager brought over (who I don't think understood that we were removed then put back into the queue again) explained it away to being short on tables/table size (we had 4) etc. That was not cool. Had we not all four stood at the check in counter I do not think they would have gotten us into seating for another hour (but they did find us a table sooner, but it probably extended our wait 30 min). After all that we asked if there was anything they might offer us for the inconvenience (ie appetizer etc) they simply said no. All of that wasn't cool at all. Luckily our server was sweet and the food was great and so we did still enjoy ourselves. We were going to stay for more drinks and listen to music but because of all the issues we moved onto the brewery next door right after eating when we would have simply stayed there and spent more. read more

Service was stellar. Food was delicious! Even when a quick passing storm moved through, staff was so nice with closing the patio and helping folks find tables out of the rain. If you're looking for an indoor seat, this isn't the place. They have a covered patio and then they have tables with umbrellas on the deck. Cabana is an outside eatery, which is great if you want to be outside and eat. There is a structure overhead in some areas for a more inside experience. Just as the name suggests it is along a river, which adds to the view and experience. The food is very good and I've never been disappointed with any of it. Never had bad service here either! Beautiful setting, first of all. Great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail and watch the river traffic go by. My fave dish here is any one of the salads with tenderloin added. Five stars for the great view, the wonderful lunch I had with my family and for taking COVID-19 precautions. Cabana on the River has become a family fave, and I can see why. I visited Cabana on Monday for lunch with my mom, sister, toddler son, grandfather and two aunts. One of my aunts was visiting, so we wanted to make an occasion of it. We were able to immediately get a table for all of us, under the pavillion but still with a view of the river. Cabana only has outdoor seating, but I was happy to be by fans and out of the sun. All of the waitresses wore masks, and they were sitting groups far apart from one another. Hat tip to Cabana as well for having guests join the waitlist via the Yelp app so that they can avoid congregating while waiting for a table. We started with drinks -- naturally. The pina colada was my favorite. It just tastes like summer. We also enjoyed the Con Queso and Chips and the Goetta Bites. The Goetta Bites reminded me of cocktail sausages but tasted way better (obviously). And then for my meal I got the fish and chips. The fish was fried perfectly. The breading was crispy and not too thick. The fish was fresh. And the fries had a great seasoning on them. I also got the chicken tenders meal for my son. The tenders were large, and we actually got a couple of meals out of them with the leftovers. While we ate we were able to look out on the river and the trees. It's also not often that we all get to be together. I will definitely remember this lunch for awhile. read more

The view was amazing and was very enjoyable, but the food was not good. The buns to me and my girlfriend's sandwiches were ice cold and not enjoyable at all and kinda ruined the whole meal. The service was very sub par and they weren't very polite, throwing our food onto the table and rarely checking in on us. The server would rather serve big tops due to possible higher tips and not bother taking care of 2 tops like me and my girlfriend. Very very disappointed. read more

Best part of this restaurant is the nice views of the Ohio river. It's located directly on the banks of the river and has a fairly large outdoor seating area. The restaurant is all outdoor (a portion of it being under a patio roof). It is very casual. I had the fish tacos. They were good but a little different than most places. The fish came on a filet and the 'ingredients' on a plate. You cut up the fish and added whatever you wanted to a tortilla. There is a full bar and the food is typical bar food selections. read more

Steak on a stick as an appetizer is really good! The view is beautiful by the river . We also had the virgin piña coladas and our kids loved it . They were busy & forgot one of the kids meals and we thought they weren't going to serve it and we were all full and I requested to not want it anymore when at the end they brought it out they said they couldn't take it out of the tab anymore since we ordered it already but if they forgot about it and gave it to us when we were done eating then we shouldn't have to pay for it. But we didn't argue about it ..... didn't want to make it a big deal since it was ordered in the first place but that's the reason for 4 stars. She could say "oh I'm sorry it's super late, we can take it out of your tab if you don't want it anymore." read more
