I went into this place at 4:30pm on a Sunday and walked around the whole store checking it out. It was a nice store ,but just seem like a clone of Bass Pro Shop? Let me say first I'm an avid ooutdoorsman, and I love bass pro in foxboro although not a fanboy for them Ill go anywhere like dicks or walmart or whoever has the goods.Before I came I knew it was going to be packed and not the best experience due to that. However I did call before I came to make sure I could bring my dog and the girl said "ya i dont see why not I have seen other dogs in the store today" so I said great ill be down soon. Upon entering I was greeting with a loud old man telling me I couldnt bring my dog in because their was a food court. Which seemed strange because not only does bass pro have a restaurant and a snack shop but they also allow dogs in. And he then proceeded to tell me they were putting signs up outside not allowing dogs. There is something really wrong with that. An outdoors store that calls themselves the foremost outfitter and you cant bring your dog in?That's just wrong.So I had to bring my poor dog back to the truck , crack the window and leave him their, luckily it was a rainy day not warm I would have had to bring him home.So I made my way around the store and I will admit they had a nice selection of stuff, awesome graphic T's and a ton of choices on used guns. I did decide to purchase a gun and I had to fill out an a federal application even though I do have an LTC. Somehow I filled it out wrong and my application was denied and they told me they couldnt sell me the gun here. Not only were they rude I got upset about that and told me to leave the line so other people could buy their merchandise. They didnt even try to figure out why this issue happened. That right there just tells me the want nothing more then my money and if I cant give them that then to move alone as someone else is ready to pump some money into the corporate beast.On my way out I noticed the same guy who was greeting people who told me I could not bring my dog and yet I paid no attention, I noticed 2 hours later there were still no signs on the doors stating you cant bring a pet in and then I approached him and asked him where the signs were that were supposed to be put up to prevent people from bringing in their dogs,. he stated he never made such a statement and that it must have been someone else I talked to. This really pissed me off. It was the same 65 year old grey haired asshole as I talked to iniitially lying to my face saying he never said that when he indeed did. I am really upset at the whole experience in general, I wanted to like Cabela's I really did but with having an hour drive, making my dog sit in the truck and then getting refused merchandise because their software faulted /crashed ( I am a network engineer , I know there was an issue with their application software it was extremely buggy). This just confirmed that you are just a number there and they dont care about the overall experience for the customer and just want your money. I'm all set ill stick with bass pro. read more

I'm not sure if they understand good customer service. I mean the prices are offensive enough, but shadowing me then sternly approaching me only to ask, "Can I help you find anything?" felt more like a loss prevention tactic than anything else. At the time I was trying on sunglasses, and found a hideous pair that I was compelled to try on for the fun of it. Alas, my joy was quickly stifled and I didn't really wanna spend another minute in there after the robust little man with the walrus mustache accosted me. I probably will never go back and just buy everything online from now on. And if anyone ever mentions Cabela's in conversation, I will probably employ this really smug facial expression I only use when discussing art and explain in an ostentatious manner why, "I don't shop there.." read more

I like Cabela's. It's a bit like going to a theme park. But, I've now been confused if not misled by a third mailer, and am likely to just buy online in the future. Specifically, I received a mailer on Friday advertising 9mm ammo at a very low price. Drove 12 miles to Buda to purchase on Sunday, and on checkout, found out the mailer is for the following weekend. Every time I get a mailer, something like this happens. I left without purchasing. Lesson for Cabela's: when you advertise a bargain, it should be for immediate use. And if you simply refuse to change this bizarre advertising strategy, say the product's not available for a week ACROSS THE TOP SO NOBODY CAN MISS IT. read more

I was very disappointed to learn that this Cabela's store is NOT dog friendly, even though they sell dog products. Turned us away at the door. Just really surprised me that a store like this would not allow well-behaved dogs. Overall the store is well stocked and a good match to the Bass Pro Shop in Foxboro based on merchandise, but I think Bass's prices are better and they allow dogs in their store. read more

I have been to this location several times. The service is very good. In fact, my sons were treated incredibly well by mike in the archery department. He spent a ton of time with my little lefty helping him understand how to hold to hold and shoot a bow. Great selection and good prices on most things. Lastly they have been incredibly supportive of our local scout troop. Thank you. read more

Excellent selection of all outdoor products and the staff is extremely knowledgable. No matter which department we went to we received great service and answers to all our questions. Love the store, and the staff are always very helpful in directing me to where specific merchandise is located. But checkout is abysmally slow. Have been to this location six times and on all occasions, there were very long lines of people waiting to checkout and several registers were closed. To top things off, the clerks doing the checkout are slower than molasses in January -- no sense of urgency, no attempt to move people through quickly, instead, chatting up a storm with each and every person going through the line. If you can shop online, do, because it takes forever to purchase merchandise at this location. read more

My husband shops here all the time. He just brought me home a beautiful North Face running jacket. Tried it on and there was a big hole in the pocket. Called the store and was received by very abrupt customer service. I could barely get my question out before I was told twice (very curtly) that I just needed to return the item to the store if I was unhappy. I finally got a word in and asked why they don't have a policy like other large retailers where a defected item will be given a 10% discount so that the consumer can pay for repairs? Answer: not our policy. Bring the jacket back if you don't want it. Response: with customer service and retailer policy like that I not only bring my jacket back but I will also buy a new one someone else. read more
