Cabela's is always a good time - fun shopping and cool stuff to look at, as long as you are in to the outdoors. If you aren't, then you won't like it. The Post Falls store is great because it isn't super crowded most of the time, so you aren't having to shove your way through the aisles like some locations (Lacey, Marysville). When I bought my rifle last fall, the gentleman that helped me was absolutely awesome! I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out. Left shortly after coming in when I realized that not only are the majority of customers not wearing - or being enforced to wear masks - but neither are the employees. The ones that were weren't wearing them properly, or were taking them off to talk to people. Really disappointing for someone who really enjoyed the store. This place is pretty fun to check out. They have everything an outdoorsman/woman could need, like an extensive selection of fishing supplies, decorative house trinkets, LOTS of clothing, camping supplies, shoes, dog training supplies, hunting supplies (guns, knives, ammo, etc), kayaks, boats, and so on. They have many displays of stuffed (dead) animals and a huge tank of fish (catfish, bass, and trout, maybe more). Kind of a cool place, especially for kids. When you first walk into the store, the delicious aroma of candied nuts is overwhelming. I've never tried them, but they smell amazing! I have, however, tried their fudge. They have a cute little fudge factory with every flavor imaginable from Jalapeno (gross) to strawberry cheesecake to chocolate peanut butter. It is a little pricey, but it's worth the splurge. Cabelas was the coolest place ever the first time I went. The excitement is beginning to wear off now that I've been there several times. Overall, I think they're over priced. I got ripped off by the little arcade shooting game (it ate my money, twice) and of course there are no nearby employees. They have a poor selection of sizes in the clothing department and only two dressing rooms (one men's and one women's). I would say this is a good place to look, but not buy (unless it's fudge). I went to Cabela's to find some fishing waders and when I couldn't find my size, the manager, John, not only called several stores as I waited, but took my information and kept looking even after I left. To my surprise, a week later John called having found my size in West Virginia and had it shipped to Post Falls. Not only that, he honored the sale price for me even though the sale had ended. It is amazing customer service like that which will keep me coming back to the store! read more

I love Cabela's. I don't think I've ever bought anything, but I always look. LOL. I came here with my dad so he could buy a gun. I perused the store a bit while I waited. The women's clothing was a little chaotic. Everything kind of here and there. I couldn't really find any organization with the clothes besides the camo section. Hey, really makes me want to buy something camo. I was looking for a pair of good hiking socks, and they had a nice selection of them, but none in my size (Women's Small). If you're a medium or large, you are set for life tho. My niece and nephew really enjoyed the animals and the aquarium. They must've circled the aquarium about 20 times. It kept them occupied. We also got some snacks in the food court area. Everything was nice and clean. It is kind of an adventure just coming to the store. :) read more

Nothing to dislike about Cabelas. It is a humongous outfitter for camping, survival, sporting arms, fishing and everything else inbetween. I love the amount of gear they have for all of these things as well. My families favorite part is the interactive shooting range for just a couple of tokens, the fresh water fish tank in back and lastly, all of the taxidermy animals on the mountain to look at. read more

It is a sight to see. Not a great place for animal activists? Lots of quality brand name inventory with prices to match. A big aquarium, a fun token shooting game, lots of Poke Stops and Pokemon to be caught. Even fresh fudge in a candy shop, a Cafe serving Elk and Buffalo, tents and cots to try out. The "Fly Fishing University" we attended this morning was great. The presenter works in the fishing department where they have all the gear needed. He has the knowledge and skill to help you get the right equipment and learn how to use it well. The store is huge, with a restaurant in addition to every kind of outdoor stuff imaginable, from sunglasses and binoculars to grills and boats. We also appreciate that overnight camping is allowed in the parking lot. read more

I have been a relatively satisfied customer until today, but not any more! I've seen horrible customer service in my life, so today I knew right away a real humdinger was about to unfold. I went to exchange a clothing item I purchased as it was made incorrectly and pulled apart after 3 days wear and was directed to the returns desk. For no reason I was made to feel like some kind of scam artist and (while toting my crying 18 month old) forced to walk to the back of the store twice to grab the product when the employee said they didn't carry it there (without looking it up.) Your management should train you better to treat each customer individually and use some actual customer service. I hate having to even write about this. Do the damn job you are paid to do with a smile leave your negative outside attitude in your lunchbox; nobody wants to chew that crap here. read more

Cabela's in Post Falls, Idaho is one of the worst sporting good stores I have ever experienced. Their low paid employees are mostly incompetent devoid of product knowledge and often just rude. Over the years I have bought many different items from Cabela's anything from clothing to boots and high priced guns. My last two purchases ended up in disastrous experiences that included even the department manager of the gun department being clueless, making promises that never happened and just started outright lying.- The main issue was the purchase of an $ 1800 rifle which had a problem and was taken back to Cabela's where they made the problem worse. They then send the gun back to the manufacturer for repair. When I picked up the gun from Cabela's several weeks later it turned out they had lost the original box the gun came and all the detailed documentation from the manufacturer. Since this gun was a special addition rifle of very limited production, missing the original packaging and repair documentation that gun now was substantially devalued. As already mentioned the gun department manager was as worthless in resolving the issue as most of all the rest of their employees.- I will not again set foot in any Cabela's store and I urge anyone else to be extremely careful purchasing anything valuable from Cabela's or better yet avoid this store owned by Bass Sporting Goods altogether. Their "specials" are not worth what you might have to go through. read more

I've always liked this store, haven't been in for a while. Pretty much anything you need for backpacking, hunting, fishing...etc. Lots big name brands here, north face, under armor. Hunting and fish gear seems like normal pricing and the selection is great but clothes and footwear is insanely expensive.. 75$ flip flops, 80$ hats, 70$ short sleeve shirts... the only thing that's cheaper is their cabela branded logo tshirts.. the quality of some of their stuff feels cheap. Such a waste! Save yourself money, time, and happiness and go 5 more miles toward Spokane to Big 5 Sporting Goods. We bought a cabelas brand bug/screen tent that didn't go completely to the ground (hence, the most important part of a screen tent is its ability to keep bugs out). My husband accidentally tossed the receipt and we tried to return after 4 days and one use (and of course my credit card purchase proof showing the Cabela's purchase wasn't good enough). Store credit for the amount it was still listed at would've been fine too. Best they could do was 50% of what we had paid. Costco, Walmart, Big 5 Sporting Good's...literally every self respecting retailer takes back goods that suck. We are avid outdoors people from Montana, and I will never make the mistake of shopping here again. read more

On March 21, 2019 my wife and I went to Cabela's Post Falls Idaho, to buy her a new pistol, ear plugs and a conceal carry purse. We were the only people at the gun counter but we got a next in line ticket anyway . The counter person was helping someone with rifle scopes at the other end of the counter about 75 feet away. We kept looking to see if he was available to us. This went on for about 15 minutes and then the customer left the scope counter. Another customer stepped up and the employee helped him. When he finished with that customer we expected him to come our way. Instead he walked away from us to the register where another employee was helping another customer. We waited making eye contact with him 4 or 5 times. About that time another employee came from a door behind the counter marked staff only. He began to look over the rifle inventory. After about 4 to 5 more minutes still looking for help, I asked the Employee that came through the door if there was anyone working the gun counter. He looked up and said yes but that everyone was busy helping other customers. I told him that there was another counter person that was just standing at the other end of the counter watching another customer being served. Again he said that every one was busy with customers. I told him that was not what I was seeing but OK. Then he curtly replied is there anything I can help you with. Immediately I felt uncomfortable with him. But I said yes we wanted to see the Lady Smith that was on sale.He could not find it and asked the price and if it was in their flier. I answered his questions but still felt like I was bothering him. After a couple of minutes I felt like I was more of a pain in the butt to him than anything else. I told him never mind I would make the purchase some where else. As my wife and I walked away his response was a snide have a good night. I said I was going to tell the Manager how rude we had just been treated. He then blurted out what did you say to me in a confrontational manner . I turned took a couple of steps in his direction and repeated what I had said. As I turned to walk away again he started arguing that he was not rude and tried to defend his position. He did this in a loud voice and I am sure other customers heard the confrontation. On our way out another employee asked if everything was alright. I asked where I could find the Manager. He told me he was a manager, and asked what was wrong. I explained to him what went on at the gun counter. He took my name and phone number and asked the name of the person we dealt with, I told him I did not know his name but gave him a description. (Blue plaid shirt. bald head,middle aged) (Can't be more than one person like that behind the counter at that time, he should be easy to identify) The Manager asked if it was alright if a regional manager called me. I told him it was alright. It has been 8 days and I have not heard from any one from Cabela's It seems that they really don't care. We have been a club member since 1992 and have shopped there years before that.We spend a considerable amount of money there each year, with some big ticket items as well. I have never been treated this bad anywhere. I do not believe in being disrespectful to people. I try to treat then the way I want to be treated. I am not a demanding person. I was in shock the way these people treated us. I will never buy a firearm from Cabela's... , and I will reconsider where I spend my sportsman dollar in the future, there are many places to choose from . I'm not a big Cabelas shopper as I don't kill innocent creatures of the forest to make myself feel more like a man (like that's even possible!) and I prefer REI for high end camping gear, although if I ever decide to camp out of a pickup bed and swill cold budweisers out of coolers the size of baby mastodons, I might switch, no, I went to Cabelas for a Zombie Invasion Stopper-Grade Tactical Home Defense Short Barreled Shotgun. I was going to get a pump 12 gauge because everybody said pumps are better, easier to control, sound scarier blah blah blah, but I picked up a Mossberg 930 autoloader because when the zombies hit, and hit they will, I wanna be dumping slugs into those pukes, not making scary racking sounds which won't impress a shambling, brain hungry, undead ick thing. The gun is great I've shot up shit in the woods w it, Cabelas price wasn't even all that bad for it, they are known to be expensive, and even the old dude that helped me behind the gun counter was fairly cool. Some of those guys are total a-holes acting all bugged you are asking them questions and all cool like they are God's gift to shoppers like me who don't know shit about guns. So, all in all, Cabelas was decent. The shoppers there creep the hell out of me but that's another issue. Besides, it's a Cabelas for chrissakes, the place that sells deer in estrus urine for Bambi-killers to drench themselves in to lure big buck to their treestands only to get the crap blowed out of them. Cabela's was pretty cool. I'm armed and dangerous now, any zombies want to come my way they are gonna get a taste of American manufacturing and retail. I stopped here on a whim because I had time to kill on my way from CdA to Spokane to catch a plane back to Seattle. I'd never been inside a Cabela's, though I have driven by the one in Lacey many times and have browsed their catalog. Wow! There is so much camo here as to almost render the entire interior of the store invisible to the naked eye. Anything you can imagine is available in camo. The selection is vast. I don't hunt but I get out and fish once in awhile. Anything related to hunting, fishing, camping, and RV'ing is here. I went back to the clearance area and spotted a Cabela's store-brand ultralight rod&reel priced about $50, which I thought was a little high for clearance. They also had some Atlas snowshoes for under $100 on clearance, which is a good price but I have myself and the family already setup in snowshoes. You can order cargo trailers made by Carry-On. But I've seen how Carry-On trailers are made and I'd put them on the lower end of the trailer spectrum, which makes me a little skeptical about Cabela's store-brand merchandise. They have a big fish aquarium with bass, bluegill, and trout. Also, a laser gun range, tempting but not free. Be ready for the greeters at the entrance pumping you to sign up for their program. Check your gun in at the front also. The second amendment doesn't apply inside the store. read more

The two employees in their marine department seemed extremely bothered that I interrupted to ask a simple "where can this item be located" question. This is not only an outdoors outfitter but a deli/cafe lurks inside! The White Pine Cafe is always slow and worth the effort to walk 25 feet to the right once you enter the building. They serve some nice wild game, as I had the wild boar sandwich which was tasty! Ive had the buffalo burger as well, and it was a real treat. A lil spendy for sandwiches, pizza slices and hot dogs but its worth the experience. They also serve fresh fudge in the fudge shoppe and old fashioned candies. read more

Stopped in yesterday to pick up some fishing gear for the summer. It was to my dismay how empty the store was. But I thought this would be a plus because I could get help immediately from one of their fishing outfitters to locate an item. Shockingly, I was terribly wrong because staff were unresponsive and uninterested in helping me. I will never go back or recommend this location.
