I visited Anchorage for 2 weeks and visited this coffee shop at least 4 times…read more I tried their lattes, mochas, and eggnog latte. I've had their burritos and their pastries. None of it disappointed. I ordered my mocha half-sweet (as usual), and it was perfect. Still had a bit of sweetness but mostly dark chocolate velvety. I'm very picky with my lattes (especially when they give too much foam), but that wasn't an issue! I loved it. The veggie burrito is bomb. I had it twice. Reindeer sausage was also cool. We ended up taking the cinnamon roll back home so we could heat it up, but I'm sure we could have just asked. The scones were fire! The lemon-blueberry scone is perfect for people who like pastries that aren't as sweet with more fruit-forward flavors. I've also gotten the pre-packaged Bob's Red Mill oatmeal cup, and they'll add steamed milk/hot water for you if you ask. The line can get long, buy come on, it's the only coffee shop so close to this residential area. The most I waited for a drink (from the back of the line which was close to the door.. to receiving my drink) was 20'. They are doing their best and do it with good attitudes.

**My first stop when I arrived in Alaska, and it didn't disappoint!**…read more The coffee was smooth without that burnt aftertaste you sometimes get elsewhere. I also tried the chai tea blend, which was excellent--flavorful and perfectly spiced. Even some of the other coffee shops I visited carried their brand, which speaks to its quality. This charming café is a perfect way to start your day in Alaska!

This particular location was formerly The Sweet Cup before its latest incarnation as Caffe D'arte…read moreon the intersection of E. 16th and Muldoon just south of Debarr. The old blue and white facade has given way to the familiar brick red style of several Caffe D'arte coffee huts that dot the different neighborhoods around town. The baristas here are very friendly and quick with your drink orders. In my humble opinion, the Caffe D'arte version of their Cold Brew is my personal favorite with a smooth rich taste with no bitterness but still retaining the coffee flavor. Sugar-free vanilla or Irish cream are my go-tos if I want to add a little flavor. There is a good variety of specialty drinks in addition to the standard espresso selections of Americanos, Lattes, Mochas, and Cappuccinos. Their Frappes are of the candy bar/cookie variety like Butterfinger, Heath, Oreo, and Reese's. They are one of the few stands in town that provide sizes as large as 32 ounces for the drinks. Food items are the usual offerings like cookies, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast burritos. For those on the Keto diet, they offer giant-size Peanut Butter Cup snacks made with sugar-free chocolate and coconut oil. Punch cards are provided for first-time customers and returning regulars who redeem their completed cards for a free 16oz. drink, hot or cold. The specials change frequently on the drive-thru windows so be on the lookout for new specialty drinks with creative names or those that fit in with certain holidays year-round. The only issue I have is a minor one, but one that can only be taken care of by the property owners of the lot. The area that the stand is located on is in terrible need of being paved over. There are bumps and wide holes on the ground as you drive up to the windows that if your drink is not secured properly when leaving, a deep groove or a pothole can send your coffee drink flying all over your lap or the dashboard. Hopefully, the property owners will take note and deal with this issue accordingly for the benefit of everyone who wouldn't want a hot coffee bath in the morning.
