I know several people that love the Lotus Energy Drinks and I wanted to give it a try.... Probably not the best idea at 4:30 in the afternoon now that I think about it! Ha!! Heading to see my hairdresser, I wanted to get her a treat too and Heavenly Cup was nearby. What a treat to visit! I didn't get the gal's name that helped me, but she was super sweet and helpful with my order! Quick to make two 'red flavored' drinks, one with cream and whip and the other without. I figured I'd grab both and let her choose which one she wanted. Typical little drive up beverage cart around anchorage with service on both sides of the building. Hot and cold beverages, coffee, tea, energy drinks... they seem to cover all the bases. Easy in and out off Minnesota, but you do have to make a right hand/northbound turn to get out of there. I go here sporadically. It's close and on my way to work. Lately due to low carb and low money I'm not a frequent flyer. However with a nearly 30lb weight loss I like to enjoy an iced white chocolate mocha as a treat on the weekend before doing errands. They have a punch card system like most huts. I believe you get $3 off your 10th drink. It's not the best reward (most offer a free drink) but hey they don't have to offer anything :) The girls are always friendly when I go. The mochas are always deliciously strong and taste like coffee and not sugar milk like some local huts. As a fan of dark roasts I really enjoy the taste of coffee. I tend to get a 20oz which is $4.75 and I believe that's pretty standard pricing in town. I am doing 4 out of 5 only because the cookie I bought the other day I assumed was fresh from the Illusions Food bakery, but it wasn't. I am 99% sure it was in the freezer because when it was handed to me it was warmed up (which I found odd). The middle was warm and gooey (not undercooked, just super soft) while the outer edges were cold. Hmmm... That being said I do like their ham and cheese croissant as an occasional treat too (but if you like a crispy croissant don't order it or ask them not to heat it because they warm it up in the plastic wrap so the croissant becomes soft). I've stopped by here a few times since it happens to be on my way to work. I wasn't impressed by the drinks any of the times I went there. Last time I went there I had coffee grounds at the bottom of my Americano. I've made espresso drinks before myself so I'm really not sure how you could not catch that. That reason alone is enough to make me not want to go back there since that hasn't happened to me anywhere else. That aside, the customer service was decent and the prices are pretty good. However I'm disappointed that the punch card only gives you $3 off a drink after 10 drinks when so many other places give you a free drink. Needless to say I won't be filling up that punch card. read more

I decided to stop by on a whim after driving by here several times. This coffee hut is located at the corner of Minnesota and Spenard across from a bowling alley and a gas station. As I pulled up to the drive-thru window, a friendly barista greeted me and took my order. I wasn't sure what to order especially after hitting the treadmill at the gym earlier. A small list taped to the top of the window caught my eye. It was a selection of protein drinks, the perfect choice for a light snack to refuel after exercising. I decided to try the Chunky Monkey (peanut butter, banana, and chocolate protein powder) in a 16oz. I only had to wait a few short minutes for my drink to be ready. The protein shake was delicious with a noticeable amount of peanut butter with chunks of banana blended in. It was filling enough to satisfy my appetite until dinner time. Some of the other shakes I want to try next time are the Strawberry Banana Blast, the Mango Tango, the Blueberry Dream, and the Mighty Mocha Madness. Coffee drinks are your usual lattes, breves, mochas, and cappuccinos with choice of flavored syrups, but they do have different specialty drinks every week and they offer a punch card for first-time customers where you get $3 off on your ninth punch. They also have a monthly drawing for a $10 gift card if you fill out your name and number when turning in the punch card. A lot of coffee places usually don't offer the protein shakes like this place so this was a welcome option to refuel after the gym. read more

I only get drip coffee, so I'm no expert on espresso stands. Having said that, the girl working here was very warm and friendly, and so was the coffee. Prices are also very reasonable. Great location if you need a caffeine fix on the go! read more

I am specifically reviewing the midtown Heavenly Cup, which was a God send for me since they serve some kick-ass coffee in those cute little pink shacks. The girls are so nice and friendly; they work fast and always have a smile on their faces. I love the colorful Christmas lights that decorate the java huts and even though it sounds cheesy and tacky, the twinkling addition makes the angel theme stand out even more. I was staying nearby and it was really convenient for me to walk right over. I got a coffee every morning, a smoothie or protein drink that was very tasty and incorporated 3 of my fruit servings for the day and I even tried the ham and cheese croissant yesterday and it was so yummy! I bought my shuttle driver a hot chocolate and he loved it! Hours are Mon - Thur 5:30am - 6pm; Fri 5:30am - 7pm; Sat 6am - 7pm ; Sun 7am - 6pm. Next time you are cruising around town and see the little pink house, stop by and experience a little slice of coffee heaven! read more

Went here earlier this week and asked for a 16oz triple shot vanilla breve. The plus side is they didn't have a line just one car ahead of me and had nice girls at the winder. The negative was I think they used milk instead of half and half for the breve and I hardly tasted the vanilla flavoring. It's not somewhere I'd visit again personally. read more

I used to come here every day. I stopped about 5 months ago because of another very negative encounter. I thought maybe I would give it another try because I did enjoy the coffee and we all have a bad day right? The girl that is there today was so rude that when I asked a question about pricing the reply was a snotty "I guess so" and my coffee was barely lukewarm. The baristas have gotten so lazy and forgetful lately. Every time I go they mess up my order. They put tons of espresso in my chai tea, they put in the wrong flavorings, they only fill up my 16oz cup halfway, they give me a latte instead of what I asked for. They even forgot to put the redbull in my redbull slushie. The coffee itself already tasted like something I could make at home, it's definitely not worth the price, but all of these mistakes are unforgivable. read more
